Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to the 6th day of March, 2013.

Hello, I hope that this finds you feeling great and ready to take on the day.

Yesterday in a conversation the discussion came up of “feeling pride with oneself” …..

You know the feeling good when you have accomplished something …. big or small.

Knowing that you are a good person ….. feeling good with yourself.

There are so many people out there, myself included who have struggled with the knowing that you, we have done a great job.

I believe that it starts when you are a child.

If you do not have anyone cheering you on …. giving  you praise when you deserve it …… moulding your self-worth…

Then you grow up to have low-esteem.

I have struggled with low-esteem my whole life.

Unfortunately people think at first blush that I have a solid self as I am outgoing.

They are not one in the same.

I think that when children are small and for example when they are going to school …. we as parents help them study ….. then they do well on their tests and this builds self-worth, self-esteem.

Children need their parents help to grown and prosper …. mentally, physically and spiritually.

If you neglect your children and only yell at them “do your homework”  or “be quiet”  (for example) ….. then you are not helping to build self-worth.

I think some people are of course born with that good sense of themselves while most of us need some help to get started.

This is early in the morning so I hope that I am making sense.

But at the end of it all ….. and this took me fifty years to realize …. THAT WE ARE ALL WORTHY AND DESERVING HUMAN BEINGS.

Sometimes we stray and make mistakes …. but that’s okay ….. brush yourself off …… learn from the situation and be a better person for it.

Self-worth is something that we all have to work on every single day.

We are all important in the world …..

So have a great awesome fulfilling day ….. you are incredible, and me, too.   🙂

Special Hello to:  ALL OF US WHO LEARN AND GROWN EACH AND EVERY DAY !!!

Always, Carol and Alvin

You were awesome at making me feel smart and worthy of good things when I was little and still to this day. I’m so grateful for that. You’re right about having to work on it everyday though, some days are easier than others 🙂

Yes, that’s true about not getting a feeling of self-worth when we were little. I will add that Grandma Stella would always give us praise and make us feel worthy. She would say things like, you are so smart or a hard worker, etc., that was really special.
