Thought for the day…..

Good Friday morning and Welcome to the 22nd day of March, 2013.

Officially the second day of spring.

Well, I know that I wasn’t going to go there but I just have to …….

I just have to talk about the weather ……

We had a huge dump of snow yesterday.

We were so lucky that we were sent home at 3:00 p.m. as it took us two hours to get home.

I got stuck in the parking lot at work and was so lucky that one of my co-workers was able to push me out.

WOMAN power.

After I picked my daughter up from work we went for gas ….. not a good idea to run out of gas in the middle of a storm.

So we got stuck or actually caught on ice ….. we did manage to get out and had some extra help from a stranger (a man).

Thank you.

I only got over 30 kilometres twice on the way home and that was only for a short distance.

So it was slow going but we got home and there were no accidents so that was great.

Better to take it slow and get there, right?

So once we arrived at my daughter’s house …. I decided to walk the three or so blocks to my house.

My street has been bad all winter so we did not wish to take a chance.

After ploughing through past my knee high snow I reached my house.

Thank goodness my next door neighbour had done some shovelling so it wasn’t too bad.

I went to the back yard with Alvin as the snow was way past his “knees” so I shovelled some space for him to go ……

Then back into the house …. he had his supper and then I joined my other neighbour to shovel out front.

We were laughing as the snow banks are way over our heads and it was a good workout throwing the snow high into the air.

Sometimes it came back at us….

But we survived yet another spring storm.

I truly do not mind the snow but I hope that Mother Nature decides to let the sun shine and the snow melt.

Slowly ……

So from a snowy Edmonton and actually Alberta ….. have a great day.

I am so grateful that I did not have to travel outside the city ….

There was a huge accident on the QE 2 Highway between Edmonton and Calgary by Leduc … I think.

I heard that there were 300 injuries in a 100 vehicle accident, one vehicle was a bus.

So my thoughts and prayers are with all of them…..

Have a great day.

Take care and drive slowly…..better to take longer to get where you are going than not….

Special Hello: to my sister and her fellow who are basking in the sunlight in Florida …… yay…

Always, Carol and Alvin
