Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 6th day of July, 2016.

Overcast and going to be a bit cooler today.

I actually am wearing pants today instead of a skirt or capris as it is so COLD in our office.

I am grateful for air conditioning – please do not get me wrong – but it can be most hard to regulate in a multi-story building.

Anyway, that is okay.

Dressed for it, today.

Last night after work was literally a blur.

One of my co-workers and her husband gave me a ride home as they were buying a couple of items from me.

We arrived at home and Mr. Alvin greeted them with his ever abundance exuberance.

I proudly gave them a tour of my house and later realized that I forgot to show them the main floor bathroom as I had left the door open (for Alvin in case of a tornado – inside walk and all of that) closing it when we were looking out the back door at the yard.

I love my main floor bathroom ….. the sink/cabinet and my decor.

Oh well.

In between the tour my neighbour called to say that her car and others parked out front had been broken into the night before ……

ARGH.

One of the items they were buying was my deep freezer.

My friend’s husband is having back surgery so we were on deck (although he helped here and there with caution).

The freezer was light only awkward.

We managed to get it up the stairs from the basement across the main floor and out to the truck and loaded without causing too much havoc.

I scraped the paint just a tad on the wall coming up from the basement but no big deal.

After they left I went into the basement to turn of the lights and noticed they forgot the other item.

I frantically looked in my Steeped Tea stuff for her phone number and found it but her phone went to voice mail.

Oh well.

I figured as Elton was visiting today and I was getting a ride to work that I would just take it with me.

Problem solved.

Then two other friends called before I had a chance to make supper.

Oh, plus we went over to meet a prospective new neighbour as my friend “S” was looking to adopt a dog and we wanted to give him the Alvin test.

Alvin loved him right off the bat which is odd as BIG dogs usually scare him.

In the end she decided her duplex was likely not the best fit as he is one big guy.

We all felt bad but looking out for him.

I know that he will find a lovely home as he is a wonderful laid back boy.

Supper.

Relaxed while I ate.

Then took Alvin for a walk and by the time we got home it was after 8:30 and almost time for bed.

Oh made lunch for today in between there.

It was one thing right after another.

Now it is almost time to leave for work.

So I had better get going.

They are going to be here soon.

Well it was an interesting evening for sure.

I even got some extra extra exercise with the freezer.

See what two women can do.

Have an awesome day.

Special Hello to: all those women who think they cannot well guess again, YOU CAN.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Afternoon, today is an overwhelmingly  sad day for our family as our beloved Penny passed away.

We still cannot believe that she is gone, and will her miss her forever.

She had been diagnosed with kidney disease not long ago,  and also had a  known heart murmur.

But this day came all to fast for us.

When our four-legged darlings come into our lives we do not think of that day …. the time when they will no longer be with us.

We love them with all our heart.

Penny came into our family quite by accident by one fall back in 2005.

My daughter found her in a small town general store, and fell in love with the bundle of fur … who later was named Penny Lane.

She had a brother later named Parker.

Penny was adopted by my daughter and son-in-law and Parker by one of their friends.

She instantly became a sister for Elton whom they had adopted the year before ……

Penny loved to be outside ….. loved go on walks ….. she really loved life.

My kids were the best parents ever to both Penny and to  Elton.

They went on family vacations to the mountains and to the lake.

Penny loved to investigate things wherever she was …..

She loved to EAT ….. I would say that food was her passion.

Bananas were her favourite treat.

I am not sure how she managed it but she would jump up onto a kitchen chair any chance she got ….. just to see what was on the table.

There was the odd time that she managed to get up onto the table …. making for some excitement and laughter.

Penny and Elton would come for sleepovers to my house and later on when I adopted Alvin they became the three amigos.

Trouble, trouble and trouble.

But they truly loved each other.

She also loved to get into things ….. like kleenex ….. loved to shred it …..

Our Penny had no trouble speaking her mind, and that was evident when she would jump up onto the chair by the living room window and announce to us who was going by outside.

She was sweet, loving and gentle.

I would like to share some photos from over the years…
