Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 30th day of September, 2016.

Wow, another month come and almost gone.

Well September you were pretty nice.

Thank you.

Last night Alvin and I put away the deck furniture, cleaned out most of the flower bed, put away odds and ends, mowed the grass and covered the air

conditioner in preparation of the following season.

Alvin enjoying running in circles from one end of the deck to the other and making the cutest jumps to the upper level of the deck.

He was pooped after that …..

Yesterday I posted the following about something happening in Canada.

After I wrote this which is early between 6:00 – 6:30 a.m. in the morning, I thought of more that I could and would like to say on this topic.

How is it that we human beings can murder another human being or even many and go to prison.

We are not put to death (most times).

In prison they are not denied food or shelter.

They can receive an education even earning a degree if they so desire.

We give them a chance to  rehabilitate themselves.

So why is it that when our four legged companions injure or cause death to a human, the punishment is automatically death.

There is no discussion.

No thinking about it.

Just do it.

They are animals after all.

They do not feel anything or reason and are not human.

I have heard those words so many times and it makes me so mad.

What the hell is wrong with us.  (excuse the language but it is necessary).

Are we so blind and cruel that we cannot do something to change this?

I am so sad by all of this……

Sometimes where do I go from here.

Every day I am shamed by the acts of my fellow human beings.

I am not saying that I am perfect because I am not.

Just wishing we were overly compassionate instead of the other way.

Well it is time for me to head out to catch the bus.

Have a good Friday.

Special Hello to: all those folks who work tirelessly to help all living creatures ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 29th day of September, 2016.

I heard the most dreaded four-letter word on the weather channel last night.

So I guess tonight I will be giving the back lawn one more cut, putting the patio furniture and nick knacks into the garage and covering up the air

conditioner.

At least I will be part way prepared whenever it hits.

I sure hope that it is only a few flurries and melts as it hits the ground and only last for about 60 seconds.

Was kind of hoping for a warm October and into November.

Still hope.

This morning I must put the pedal to the medal as yesterday I just arrived at the bus stop and the bus was coming.

Too close for me.

My heart …….

My mind has been swimming with the latest news.

I guess in Montreal they are banning pit bulls.

That does not bode well for those poor animals.

I cannot believe we human beings.

We have no regard for life.

It is not the animals that are to blame for aggressive behaviour.

We breed, train and abuse animals and it is no wonder that they behave poorly at times.

I feel so bad for all the animals of the world.

I apology for my fellow human beings as we are greedy, mean, horrible creatures.

Now I know that not everyone is like that but really we are all too blame.

The good ones should report the bad ones.

But instead most people turn a blind eye to poor behaviours especially if it does not concern them.

Why?

How about we throw off the blinders that we have for way too long worn, and do something to help dogs, cats, children, animals that are

hunted for sport and the list goes on and on.

How can we continue to go on this way?

I mean really pass the news along ….. wake up people.

Come on let us not let bad people continue to do horrible things.

Please ….

I hope that this gives food for thought and that you will find a way to help.

Maybe it is by reporting bad people when they do horrible things instead of turning a blind eye.

This is 2016 ….. we should have learned by now.

Special Hello: to all those good people on the planet who continue to do good work.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 12th day of July, 2015.

The sun is desperately trying to break through the smoky haze that has taken over our skies for the past few days.

I can only imagine what it is like near the fires.

The smoke filling the air …. hard to breathe.

I was thinking of all of the poor creatures that lived in the forest with no where to run unlike we two-legged ones that can jump in a car or be flown out of the danger zone.

My heart bleeds today for them all.

If they are fortunate to escape the fire zone then what?

They end up in a habited area and then we do the unthinkable because we think they are a threat to us.

I am just grateful to be where I am …..

This has been an odd weekend.

The basement pretty much done ….. the “DRYWALL” ( I thought of the name ).

When I was vacuuming the more fine dust the filter on the vacuum decided to be done.

A bit later I found a wee small dead mouse behind the furnace tucked behind a small opening ….

Where and when ….. OMG ….. they creep me out.

I also hooked up the dryer vent hose and levelled the dryer (all by myself, found that it wasn’t difficult). YAY, me.

I was just about to start laundry and entered the laundry area (furnace) and found water by the furnace.

It had run down into the area under the stairs ….. grabbing towels I got it wiped up …

Thinking it was the humidifier … I called my neighbour as she had removed the top part by the filter.

She came over and we found it was not the humidifier …. she called her friend’s husband who is a plumber, heating and a/c guy ( they were here in just a few minutes or so it seemed).

He was pretty certain that the a/c pan that is enclosed in the furnace unit was over flowering because it was plugged somewhere and then the water has to come out somewhere …..

So he cleaned it all out and the water stopped running.

Note to self: must have the a/c unit on the furnace checked annually.

It was an invaluable lesson.

Just seemed like one thing after the other.

So glad that it is fixed and that the a/c continues to work when we need it to …..

Once again and I am in continuous gratitude to be surrounded by great people …. truly I have the best neighbours on the planet.

This morning I am on my way to another friend’s place just down the street for coffee and muffins.  A third gal, neighbour and friend is going to be there as well.

This weekend I am so grateful.

I also want to send some love to Miss Aussie, neighbour cat who had surgery on Friday and needs some love and positive energy to make her well.  Come on girl you can do it.  We love you …… Alvin, too.

Well I should go and do a couple of things before heading out to socialize ……

I hope that wherever you are that life is treating you well and that you are treating life well.

Spread the love, gratitude and positive energy …..

Thank you.
