2021

Good Morning All! How are you on this bright and sunny Saturday morning? I am doing well, we are doing well. Alvin is waiting patiently downstairs as I got washed, dressed, stripped and changed bedding, gathered towels and replaced with clean ones, renewed a subscription, and now writing this post. I am grateful to have two days off each week and sometimes the weekends are longer with statutory holidays.

I have to apologize to my grandpup Miss Aspen who turned “6” yesterday on Friday, October 15, 2021. I am not sure how Alvin and I both forgot ….. but we did.

This morning we would like to dedicate this post to our beautiful Miss Aspen. She is strong, smart, patient, loving and kind. The only time you have to look out is if there are bunnies or birds out and then all bets are off. She did not have a good start to life and had to fend for herself even having to find her own food. Aspen loves her home and her family. Her little brother Milo “MiMi” loves to play rough even though he is a fraction of her size. She just lays there and lets MiMi play away. She is a good pup and we love her so much. Aspen love, love, loves her walks and would be outside all the time if she could. But on the other side of it she loves to lay on her bed curled up, warm and safe. Aspen also loves to look out the window and check out what is going on in the neighbourhood. The pups are enjoying their new home and their huge yard. So much to investigate.

Happy 6th Birthday to the best “Grand Girl Pup” every.

We love you Miss Aspen and wish you many more Happy Years on this Earth with our Family.

This next bunch of photos are from Miss Aspen’s very first Christmas with our family. Milo was just a baby then. My daughter the photographer took these beautiful photos of the new additions to our family. I cannot believe how small they look – most especially MiMi. Christmas 2016.

Have a great day everyone. Happy Saturday.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, understanding, love, laughter and gratitude.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. forgot to mention how much Miss Aspen loves when Grandma gives her belly rubs. Love you!

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

YAY, it is Saturday and the sky is a beautiful blue and the sun is shining every so brightly.

There is a breeze.

Last night was only my second time away from Alvin since March 19, 2020.

The first time was last weekend when I had morning coffee with one of the girls.

Last night first evening time away and for about four hours.

I had such a great time.

There were four of us.

The fourth girl/woman was a lifelong friend of the friend who hosted the “Diamond Painting Party.”

We had pictures with beach motif, lovers walking down a tree lined lane, a red truck filled with pumpkins and a colorful tree.

We all took appetizers to have for the best kind of supper.

There was so much food ….

My peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and coffee cake with a thick fruit sauce were a hit.

We ate, laughed, ate some more, shared stories, opinions, had some drinks.

Enjoyed the evening.

After supper we did the Diamond Painting.

Best night ever.

When I came home to Mr. Alvin he was so happy to see me.

After the initial hello – he did let me know in his own unique way that now that I am home, pay attention to him.

So it is Saturday.

We were up early but not too early and then hit the sofa once again which seems to be our routine.

I am so happy that I had a great Friday night with friends and now Mr. Alvin is feeling like his old self, a great Saturday and Sunday to follow.

We might be finally able to meet the new puppy Bailey down the street.

I have to get in touch with Bailey’s Mom to see what time will work for us all.

I have laundry and cleaning to do.

Some yard work along the way to do.

Bit of weeding if the flower beds dry out.

Even if they do out …. I will wear my DAWGS or CROCS whichever they are ….. I know they are different companies.

Perfect little sandals for working outside.

Feeling pretty happy this morning.

Thinking wouldn’t it be wonderful if a close family member or friend won the $60 million Lotto MAX draw last night.

Someone who loved me so much that would love to share a bit with me.

That would be amazing.

Okay time to make coffee, drag the laundry down to the basement and have some breakfast.

Let’s get this day going.

Well actually I have changed the bedding and put out fresh towels in the upstairs bathrooms and am doing this post.

So I guess this day is already going.

Have the best day my friends.

Living our lives with kindness and respect.

I/We, shall remain

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 29th day of June, 2018.

It is overcast at the moment with clear skies to the south (we are facing south at this time).

Feels okay outside as I was out earlier in my p.j.’s and there is no breeze.

We had a shower overnight.

Never heard a thing.

I took a vacation day to have an extra long weekend.

Yesterday we had a request to look after Master Teddy for today and tomorrow.

So he will be joining us soon.

I have changed my plans somewhat but I am flexible.

One can go through photos on the computer just as easily on Sunday as today.

One can delete emails just as easily on Sunday as today.

It all works out.

Well last night was our Ladies Paint NIGHT.

It was a blast.

The artist instructor was very nice.

She tried to be funny and all the ladies were not quite sure what to do.

So we laughed where appropriate and carried on.

She had done something like 242 classes.

Crazy hey.

We sat at tables at the Tony Romas Restaurant in St. Albert.

It did feel at bit awkward as I felt low in proximity to the canvas.

But that is no excuse for my “starfish.”

I tried to follow her instructions for the most part and found myself going my own way.

She claimed as my paint tray was messy that was a sign of an “artist.”

Not quite sure about that but we GIRLS did have so much fun.

We laughed and almost cried.

The girls, my friends did a great job.

We are going to find another one to do.

I thought perhaps a landscape with trees.

Practice.

I have always like abstract and that has been my thing.

But here is a few shots of my “work of art.”

My starfish’s name is “Fred” after Freddy Flintstone.

Well should sign off for now as Master Teddy will be along shortly.

I wish you all a wonderful Friday.

I know that I am going to enjoy this day.

Special Hello to:  my sister …..

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 24th day of January, 2017.

This morning feels like a poem.

I would like to share a poem that I wrote in 2010.

Wishing you all a wonderful Tuesday.

Wishing that we all use our imagination.

******************************************

IN MY IMAGINATION

In my mind, there is a place

Where the sun shines all day

And it rains some nights

Where the tulips bloom to my delight

Where the water is crystal clear

And sparkles like diamonds in the sun

Where peace is not just a dream.

In my mind, there is a place

In my imagination

I found my dreams they all came true

I could touch the stars

And walk on the moon,  and then visit Mars.

In my mind, there is a place

In my imagination

I met you there on a sandy beach

When the sun was shining just before the rain

You took my hand, and you kissed my cheek

In my imagination.

In my imagination.

In my mind, there is a place

In my imagination

Somewhere that I can go

Kick off my shoes, walk in the sand

Meet you again in my imagination

Under the stars

In my imagination

Please remember to go

Meet me there

In my mind, there is a place.

Special Hello to: my friends and family sprinkled all over the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 25th day of May, 2014.

Holy Crow is it really May 25th.

Well you know what this means?

Summer if officially right around the corner.

YAY ……

Time to dust off your surf boards,

Make sure your shorts and tank tops are washed.

Put air in your bike tires.

Air out your tent.

VACATION TIME.

Do you have big plans for this summer?

Are you going to the beach?

Are you going camping?

Are you going to visit your family and friends?

It is the time of year that we all look forward to ….. almost as much or perhaps even more than Christmas.

That would be a close call for me.

For me, I have washed my shorts and tops (no longer wear tank tops alone ….. okay sometimes).

I opened the garage doors at both ends ( just in case we want to have a garage sale, it smells nice and fresh).

I bought new shoes ….. Skechers – Go WALKS …. they are sprayed as advised by the store clerk and READY TO WALK.

So excited to wear the new shoes today ….. first pair of shoes in a few years…… YAY.

I am doing more deep breath exercises to build my lung capacity (sounds good).

So on this Sunday morning as I prepare to go to work at the STORE …. it is overcast but warm outside.

I hope that you have a perfect Sunday and that you are enjoying preparing for summer and vacation.

Even if you stay at home you can still enjoy your vacation.

Special Hello to:  my sister ….. ran out of time to SKYPE but maybe we can touch base tonight after I get home from work.  P.S. I did call our brother “J” ….

Always, Carol and Alvin
