The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? We are good except! I will tell you in a moment. Beautiful sunrise with dark blue clouds filling the bulk of the sky. Rain clouds? Not sure. But looks pretty nonetheless. Most of the snow has gone leaving behind chunks of ice, gravel/sand, and muck.

Yesterday started out to be a great day and ended with a thump. In the morning we were up early and I finished off some laundry, had a shower and had a quiet morning, just enjoying it all. After lunch I walked over the nearby strip mall and went to Shoppers Drugmart first followed by Save-On Foods. I haven’t walked over to the mall in a long time. The walk was so enjoyable. I was struck by how many folks including myself wore masks and by how many did not. When I was finished purchasing my groceries, I called my friend Gillian to come and pick me up. I noticed that she had called twice. It was so loud in the store that I did not hear my phone which was in my purse. I had used a good old fashioned paper list. She was there in a few minutes and we loaded up her car. My friend had been calling me because she needed to get a few things. So back into the store I went. This time I totally forgot to wear my mask until I saw others with mask and the store was so busy that I decided to put it back on. I was so happy to spend a bit more time with my friend. After she dropped me off, I put the groceries away and Mr. Alvin and I went for a walk. It was so beautiful outside, I only wore a tank top with an elbow length sweater. Once back home, I putzed for a bit before giving Alvin his supper and warming up leftovers for me. I decided that I might as well eat early so I did. After supper and dishes, I went outside with Alvin to see if I could do something to make it less mucky in the grassy area of our backyard. Not a good idea. I did grab a cardboard box from the garage and broke it down. I laid it on the muck and was thinking that at least that way he could take the steps down and walk on the cardboard and then onto the remaining snow and ice. Well, not quite sure what happened but just after I put down the cardboard, I slipped and fell backwards onto the still frozen ground which was covered in a dirty mucky something. I twisted my body as I went down but did not hit my head (good thing). Not happy I muttered something not nice and slowly got up. I was completely soaked and filthy and MAD. Anyway I have to make this short as I slept in this morning. After I got up went into the house, took off my shoes and went upstairs to change. I found that my red tank top under my black sweater was filthy dirty on the back. The only part of my back that was not dirty was my head. Thank goodness. Anyway, I changed and put the laundry in the washer and carried on. I was a bit stiff and sore and that just got worse over the course of the night. I was in a lot of pain as I tried to sleep. Getting off the toilet is not easy. I have taken a couple of Robaxin to help with the muscle pain. My left toes are swollen a bit. No bruising that I have seen. Just incredibly stiff and sore although I believe that the worst is over, thank goodness. Not sure how it happened, I was not being careless. That was the thump to end my beautiful day. LOL.

Well time to go as I need to slowly make my way downstairs to grab my coffee. Yes, I am holding the railing up and down.

Wishing you a great day.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Living … One day at a time.

Hello, Good Morning Everyone!

Well we went to bed a bit later than usual and I read my book.

I am reading the book “BIG LITTLE LIES.”

The one that has been made into a television series.

At first I wasn’t really getting into it but now I am hooked.

We are having a great weekend.

The weather has been crazy beautiful.

Perhaps FALL will be warm and sunny.

That would be wonderful.

Today just have to finish a few things around the house and get groceries.

Teddy spent the day with us yesterday.

The boys had fun.

We enjoyed a nice walk together.

I am going grocery shopping with Teddy’s Mom later this afternoon – which is perfect timing so that we can walk and I can get things done.

Unfortunately I seemed to have slept in a bit – okay a lot.

Oh well, we are up.

We were up at 4:00 a.m. – for a outdoor bathroom break (Alvin not me, lol).

Then again at 5:19 a.m. – Alvin had his breakfast (and his Mama refused, that’s me to stay up).

We were awake and awake – until final at …. we were up.

Cannot disclose that time …. as it was LATE.

I can smell the coffee perking.

YAY …. love the smell of coffee perking

While I was on the sofa early this morning and in between “snoring” –

I was thinking if you were either lying down or sitting comfortably on the sofa and closed your eyes.

Then just listened to the sounds around you.

Just listen to the sounds only.

Once you have identified them, do you quickly revert to the MILLION THOUGHTS TAKING OVER YOUR MIND?

I did.

I then instructed myself to listen to the sounds only.

After a bit there was only quiet.

Now this would not likely work if you, your spouse and children and the dog were up and about the house.

But before your world begins to take over …. just sit back and close your eyes and listen.

Just listen to the sounds …..

So relaxing.

What a great way to start the day.

Well that coffee is calling my name.

I hope that you enjoy the day and that wherever you are …. may the sun be shining and the air be fresh and clean.

Happy Sunday.

With a life filled with kindness and respect – there is joy.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 4th day of May, 2017.

What a gorgeous morning outside.

I had planned this weekend to work hard and get everything or most items done on Saturday so that Alvin and I could take a walk to one of the “northern parks.”

It was our “spring, early summer” adventure before it gets too hot.

So yesterday after four hours Alvin had another haircut and bath.

OMG, I had even more anxiety than he had by the third hour….. if he would just let me know it ….. the haircut would be over in likely about one hour.

After that, it was six loads of laundry, mowed the front lawn including my neighbours that we share and the back, weeded by the garage on both sides, vacuumed upstairs and main floor, cleaned two out of the three

bathrooms, made pizza for supper and made chocolate pumpkin muffins ….. and then crashed.

We did not even go for a walk ….. we both were done.

So this morning after getting up ….. having breakfast ….. got dressed and headed out.

We spent about two hours outside walking and even sat down at the North park on one of the benches.

I placed Alvin on my lap and we sat there enjoying the cool breeze.

WHERE ARE THE GEESE?

Then we  saw some two geese and a gosling managed to snap some photos.

Bear in mind some are a bit shaky as I was holding Mr. Alvin who was sniffing and investigating on his leash, the camera, and his bottle of water.

So it was tricky to say the least.

As I was trying to take some photos of the geese with the goslings – a lady stopped and held Alvin while I quickly snapped some photos.

Also I had to keep stopping to delete some old photos.

Note to self:  time to buy a new memory card.

I always download the photos but I do not like to delete them all.

It was fun …..

Mr. Alvin wanted to come home even before we got past the middle park.

But I pushed him to go further.

We stopped for several water breaks (for Mr. Alvin).

I carry water for him but not for me.

So here are the photos that we took on our little adventure and then I need COFFEE

The geese are the first ones that we saw.  These photos are from what I nicknamed the “Northern Park.”

Oh, the goslings were so cute.  Two adult geese were watching over the gaggle of goslings.  I could not count how many there were …….

Wild roses ….. the fragrance filled the air.  The roses by our park are not blooming ….. I hope they do.

Okay time for that coffee which has been brewed for several minutes now.

Ready to kick back and relax.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to: all those nature lovers …… nothing better than a walk with trees, geese, roses and a cool breeze and Mr. Alvin, of course.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Afternoon on Monday the 21st day of July, 2014.

I am feeling under the weather but just wanted to touch base with you all.

The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day as I look outside.

I hope that you are doing great wherever you are …….

I am resting and feeling better as the day goes on.

Always remember to take care of yourself.

Rest if you are not well.

It’s that time again.

Happy Monday.
