Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 28th day of November, 2016.

Well here we are with only three days including today left in the month of November, 2016.

Can you believe it?

I think that I say this every month but I have found as I get older the months simply “fly” by.

They come in with all of the pomp and circumstance of a new month for that year, and then the days go so quickly that we almost forget that we have had that month.

I guess in a way it is kind of funny, if you think about it.

Sometimes perhaps we spend too much time thinking about time.

Do we have enough time to do all of the things that we need to do?

Time is passing so quickly.

What time is it?

Will I be on time?

I am afraid that I will run out of time to do  all of the things on my “bucket list.”

How many minutes before the bus arrives?

I am late.

The list goes on and on.

That is the human race everything revolves around time.

I understand our need to be on time, to have enough time and about time passing so quickly.

I think “TIME” is the one thought that is constantly on our minds.

So perhaps on this Monday ….. if possible …… just be in the moment.

Do not think about those moments before or those afterward ….. just live in the moment.

Hard to do, I agree.

But if you can well worth it.

Even if you only are able to complete this “task” a few times a day – it will take away from that constant bombardment of “time.”

Take care and have a great day.

Special Hello to: my kids and baby Milo who are living now without their beloved Elton and Penny ….. take care my darlings.  Think of all the great times…you have wonderful memories.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 5th day of June, 2015.

Can you believe two more days and we are one week into June.

Crazy, hey.

Well it is also Friday morning.

The sun is shining and the sky is clear here in Edmonton.

There is also a bit of a breeze so it will be comfortable outside.

What are your plans for the weekend?

I hope that besides doing things around the house that you are able to relax and have fun.

No matter what is going on in your life ….. please always take some time for you.

If time is short ….. then just take 30 minutes.

It is so important to take time for yourself.

Just like sleeping rejuvenates the body.

Time to just “be in the moment” is healthy for the mind.

Often people are so wrapped up in running from one place to the other …. they forget themselves.

Tonight I was invited to a birthday party for some neighbours who live close by.

Tomorrow I am hosting a birthday party for another friend.

Lots of birthdays.

In between yard and house work followed by time for ME AND Mr. ALVIN.

Cannot forget my boy.

Well time to get the show on the road.

Mr. Alvin had me up again at 4:20 (actually before but I managed to get him to lay down for a few more minutes).

His clock seems to be off …. just a tad.

So of course because his Momma was “sleepy” …. we hit the sofa for a few extra zzzz’s.

Well I feel back into a dream ….. and the timer on the microwave woke me up.

It was a 45 minute lay down.

Okay I better get going.

Have an awesome Friday.

Special Hello to: all those celebrating a birthday during the month of June.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 17th day of December, 2013.

One more day closer to the big one.

Can you stand it?

Are you getting excited?

I still get excited after 56 years.

I still believe that Santa will put something under the tree especially for me.

I believe that we will all have a wonderful day.

Watch a Christmas movie or play a board game or perhaps even both.

I know that we will eat well and say afterwards “I wish that I would have stopped at one helping.”

I know that there will be dishes to be washed.

I know that there will be a floor to sweep.

Wrapping paper to be recycled.

Phone calls to make.

It will be a great day ….. my day.

I love Christmas.

It brings me hope ….

I hope that it brings hope to you and your family.

Hope keeps us living…..

BELIEVE.

If given the opportunity spread your wealth …. no matter the size.

Maybe you can see a Mom in the grocery store and you can tell she doesn’t have enough money to buy the food they would like to buy …..

You could pay for the groceries or maybe buy them a turkey or even a chicken.

Maybe there is a elderly person living down the block and you know they will be alone this Christmas.

You could invite them over for Christmas dinner.

There is always a way to make Christmas special and filled with hope.

To surprise a stranger is the best gift of all.

Show love and your generosity will be rewarded.

I firmly believe that what you give you will receive.

Have a great Tuesday …..

Special Hello to: all those lovely folks who read my blog …. I so appreciate it …. Happy Holidays to You and Your Family.

Thought for the day…

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 18th day of November, 2013.

Welcome to this day.

Well looks like winter is upon us.

Banks of snow line the fronts of each home in my neighbourhood.

Five weeks to Christmas.

How do you spend the holidays?

I try to celebrate Christmas all year long by being kind and giving.

Somedays I might have a moment or two where I fall short but otherwise I feel good about how I treat others.

You also have to feel good about how you treat yourself.

Because if you do not treat yourself with kindness and giving how can you treat others the same.

So on this Monday …. treat yourself with kindness.

Take a few minutes to meditate and relax.

Take a few minutes to just be still.

I think that is the best advice that you could give to someone.

“Just be still” ….

So much can be accomplished if you take the time to be still.

No thoughts about what to make for supper, or what bills have to be paid or what to buy Johnny for Christmas.

Just let yourself go and breathe.

Go to that place where your mind is quiet.

This takes some time and practice but it is worth it.

I need to do this.

You will be energized and feel great.

So have a good day and try being still.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all those who believe …. it starts with you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 19th day of August, 2013.

It always surprises me by how quickly it goes from being light and sunny at 5:00 to being completely dark at that time.

It is just after 6:00 a.m. and the sky is beginning to show signs of sunrise.

Both the beginning of the day and the ending of each one are so dramatically gorgeous.

They start with fantastic coloration and end the same.

I guess it is up to us to keep the colour flowing throughout the course of the day.

It is quite something when you think of what an amazing job “Mother Nature” does; but I believe that we are up for the challenge.

If you go to bed grateful and happy for all of the wonderful things in your life you will wake up that way.

So it is a good place to start, right?

When you get up in the morning even before your feet fit the floor …. say ” Good Morning” ……

Maybe it is to your pet who shares your bed or your significant other or perhaps you have the whole bed to yourself; whatever the case may be ….. say “Good Morning.”

Starting the day with a positive affirmation always makes a huge difference.

I always plant a smile on my face as well.

I imagine all of the people and things that I am grateful for in my life.

Try it ….

Lighten your morning and brighten your days.

Have a great one.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Special Hello to:  my fellow bloggers ….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Welcome to Monday, January 30th, 2012 …

Almost one whole month into the New Year.

So how are things with you all?

Did you make resolutions or promises to yourself about breaking a “habit” or starting a new health care regime?

Or did you just say “to heck with it all” and just try each day to live your very best?

Personally, I just try to live my best life each day ….

Somedays I am more successful than others but all in all, I believe that I do quite well.

I have found that as much as I am a people pleaser ….. I will just say that I prefer to see my glass half full.

I wished that everyone saw their glass half full.

What a wonderful world it would be (I love that line ….. it’s from a old song)

Can you guess which song?

Unfortunately I can hear the words in my head ….. but the name of the song eludes me.

So back to the topic ( see how easily I get sidetracked) …… well at 6:15 a.m. …… it is easy to do that…..  🙂

I am going to keep working on keeping that glass half full and perhaps even one day it will be full to the top or overflowing …..

I guess really it is getting close ….. I have a great life ….. I have my Alvin, my dog  (great companion and has a great personality) ….. I have a wonderful family and great friends.

I have my own home/house, something that I have dreamed of my whole life…… now when I want to paint ….. I can paint until the cows come home…. LOL.

I am in great health, I am pursuing my passions, and hope to make them more dominant in my life in due course (sooner than soon, would be great).

Most days I am very happy …… joyful, even…  I can see a little patch of heaven from my back porch when the skies are clear with twinkling stars and that beautiful moon…

So I am very blessed.

Always remember to take the time and make a list of the things that you love/ are passionate about, ….. and check off the ones that you have or are working towards.

So I hope that you have a “glass half full” kind of day and I wish you that in your life, always.

Happy Monday.

Special Hello:  to all those who really would like to have their glass half full …… just believe, and send positive energy outwards …….

Thought for the day…….

Dear Friends,

First off, thank you to Laurie for the reminder that it has been several days since my last “thought for the day” ….

I have been thinking that amongst all of the hub-bub of our busy lives …… that we have to …. we need to ….

Just quieten our minds ….. for a few minutes ……. breathe and relax…..

Life has been hectic for me as of late ……. so it is time to sit back for a few moments …… smile …. breathe deeply …. relax….

The days seem to fly by and before you know it another month has disappeared into that big vacuum in the sky ……

I am grateful for everything in my life ……. yes, everything.

It is the not so pleasant things that give way to the GREAT things.

Think positive – love your life.

Feel the love in every moment of every day, and you will have a awesome life.

You have to feel love in order to receive love.

So have a positive frame of mind, smile at everyone, love yourself and your life and great things will come to you.

I truly believe this.

So change some of your words to:  great, fantastic, wonderful, amazing, awesome (all positive words).

HAVE THE MOST AMAZING, WONDERFUL DAY MY FRIENDS.

You have a gorgeous smile ……. so SMILE, okay….. that’s better…..  🙂

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……

Take a few minutes each day to visualize.

See in your mind’s eye exactly what you want in your life.

Is it love, could it be a rose garden, maybe a puppy or perhaps a million dollars.

If you can see it, really own it and feel good, it will come to you.

As they say:  “ASK”,  “BELIEVE” and “RECEIVE”.

It works.  Have faith.

P.S.

It is always good to be still, and quiet those every hounding thoughts.

We get over 60,000 of them each and every day.

Always, Carol
