Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 5th day of March, 2019.

Today is the birthday of my Dad’s only sister, my Aunt L.

I have fond memories of the time we have spent together over the years.

Wishing her the best day.

Enjoy your supper out.

Temperatures warming up, spring will be here soon.

I can feel it …. almost taste it.

So grateful that we had our regular walk last night.

The wind was a bit cool but we managed to get all the way round.

YAY, me and Mr. Alvin.

We will lose this winter weight …. yes, we will.

Last night we had a visitor while his Momma was out at her dance classes.

Humphrey snuggled with me on the sofa and even spent some time out on the deck with Mr. Alvin

But his favourite spot seemed to be in the midst of Alvin’s toys on his bed.

He is so good and so cute.

I love spending nights with these guys.

Calming, relaxing and fun.

Alvin decided not to be cooperative when it came to taking his photo.

Not sure why.

Humphrey was right there.

Oh well.

Both cutie pies.

Great way to spend a Monday evening.

Well here it is almost time to leave once again for work.

Oh well, what can you do.

I am grateful to be employed.

I am grateful that I am in good health so that I can get up out of bed and go to work.

I am grateful to be surrounded by loving, supportive people at my office.

I am grateful that Alvin is my companion.

Happy Tuesday.

So happy that it is 6:30 and the sky is beginning to lighten in the east.

We jump ahead one hour on Sunday early morning.

Spring FORWARD don’t you know.

Have an awesome day.

Special Hello to: all those bloggers out there …. you rock.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 3rd day of February, 2018.

Oh, how I have missed my regular routine of writing.

It has been the longest week of my life.

Even today with only making breakfast, and a couple times up the stairs I still feel a bit on the ill side.

I did not go to work at all this week.

Cannot believe that I missed a whole week.

Thankfully I have had a couple of messages to let me know that a co-worker is helping out with the mail.

Nothing worse than going back to work after being sick to mountains of work.

That would be enough to push the clock back.

Perhaps even Alvin is tiring of me being at home.

It almost seems that way.

Last night I did push a bit of snow around on the deck and out front.

Likely not the best idea.

But I did the back first and then rested (not really shovelled well).

When I shovelled the front it was not a job well done for sure but it was all that I could muster up the energy to do.

I can see the garage roof tops covered in a thick blanket of snow.

I can only imagine what is on the roof of the house.

Hopefully our roofs can handle the weight.

Well today I am going to venture out and go to the Doctor.

One of my friends is going to drop me off on her way out but I am on my own to come home.

The walk in all of this snow considering that I am not at full strength kind of frightens me but I will see how I feel when I go to leave the Doctors.

If I feel at all weak, I will call a friend.

Making certain to have phone numbers with me or failing the phone a friend, I will call a TAXI.

There is so much snow and the walk ways will not be shovelled.

Well almost time to go and have a shower, to try and feel myself once again.

Giving myself lots of time this morning.

Over two hours until my friend arrives to pick me up.

I am sorry that I was out of commission this week.

Hard to write when you are not feeling well.

I hope that this finds you all well and that you do not get this flu.

It hangs on with a grip that I have not remembered seeing in past experiences.

Take care and if you are not feeling well – stay home.

Our health care providers are telling everyone with the flu to stay home and away from people.

But I need to go for a couple of reasons.

One to ensure that I do not have a bladder infection although I only have/had one symptom and the other for work.

Funny how even sitting typing is tiring.

ARGH.

I want to be healthy again.

Well I should go as it may take awhile to take a shower.

The neighbours just got home and had “fun” walking from their car to the house.

They do not have a garage so it piles up from the garage pad to the house.

Their back yard also has lots of steps which ware hard to navigate in white blinding snow.

Okay time to go.

Have a great day.

Stay warm, dry and healthy.

Special Hello to: all my family, friends and fellow bloggers.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 26th day of January, 2018.

Well we have snow.

Beautiful white snow.

In the morning it was snowing but just the tiny round balls or appeared to be so.

They did not really collect throughout the day.

It started to snow around suppertime – about 530 p.m. and did not stop at bedtime.

During the evening I decided to go out and shovel as we already had a very thick blanket covering the deck and front sidewalks and it was not stopping.

Alvin came outside with me in the back yard.

He looked so cute covered in snow.

So I shovelled and shovelled and this morning you can barely see the shovel marks.

Oh well, we are in winter.

Snow happens in winter.

Good exercise.

Yes, I guess so.

I can definitely see shovelling in my future.

I do love the fluffy stuff.

Easy to shovel and easy to walk through.

When I look out the bedroom window I can see how some of the snow has laid to rest on the branches of our tree.

Ever so carefully.

So beautiful.

So white.

Well almost time to get this show on the road.

I am leaving the house a few minutes earlier this morning to allow for the snow.

As I know most of my neighbours did not shovel last night.

Happy Friday Everyone.

Special Hello to: my fellow bloggers, thank you for reading and for sharing.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 16th day of December, 2017.

Yay, it is the weekend.

A busy one ahead but it is the weekend, so looking forward to being at home with me Alvin.

We are puppy sitting “Master Teddy” for the day, today.

We are both excited for that lovely energetic ball of fur.

He so so cute and warms our hearts.

Besides doing laundry and the usual suspects like cleaning the bathrooms, I am working on my Christmas projects for my kids.

Time is running out so I must get them done this weekend.

I will get them done.

Both are started and just require me to FOCUS.

Do you ever have times where you know what you need to do and just cannot seem to settle into the task?

Oh my, do I ever.

Procrastination …… yikes.

Well I suppose we all do.

Sometimes snuggling with Alvin is more appealing than working.

Actually most times but that is okay, I am proud to actually be crafting gifts for each of my kids.

It is fun ….. all it takes is an idea.

Big or small and run with it.

Well Teddy will be here (time seems to be going quickly) just before 9:00 am and already it is after 7:30.

Yikes.

Time to start the laundry, have breakfast, make coffee for me and my neighbour, bring my craft projects back downstairs and we should be ready.

I hope that you all have a great day.

Oh, update on my sprained hand – it is feeling much better.

In between all of the madness that surrounds you at this time of year remember to take some time for YOU.

If you do not do this – no one else will.

Happy Saturday.

Last weekend before Christmas …… no actually we have next weekend or at least part of it.

Breathe, crazy woman, just breathe.

Okay we can do this ….. we can.

Happy Saturday.

Whoops, I said that already.

Well, yes, I did.

That is okay.

Long conversation with myself…..

Time to go.

Special Hello to: all my fellow bloggers around the world…..

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 30th day of August, 2017.

WOW, can you believe the second last day of August?

This has been the best August perhaps even ever.

I was visited by many family members and friends.

Some came for my birthday and others came because they were in the area and wanted to drop by.

It was a birthday celebration that last for over two weeks.

So lucky on all fronts.

Some may have noticed that I did not write my blog yesterday.

Woke up Tuesday morning with a raging sinus headache and with a plugged ear and being congested, I was not really fit to go to work.

So I stayed home and went to the Doctor.

Likely the best move ever.

Now I can hear, the headache is gone and I am much less congested thanks to some new allergy medicine the Doctor gave me.

Feeling like a million dollars this morning.

Alvin loved having me at home.

This morning he is wondering?

Well we are having another crazy hot day …. to be plus 30 degrees celsius which is not normal for this time of year.

Also have to tell you all a quick story.

This past Sunday night when Alvin and I were returning from watering our friend’s flowers and our walk ….. something zoomed by Alvin almost knocking him over.

Made me scream and Alvin dropped to the ground.

I turned my head to see a rabbit running at lightning speed and so fast that when he went to turn at the sidewalk by the street he was actually in the AIR.

A couple of seconds later I understood why ….. a big white dog …. OFF LEASH ran by us.

Poor Alvin and poor Momma.

Some young men were following the dog and I shouted “Please put your dog on a leash.”

I understand why people want to leave their dogs unleashed, I do get that and I wished that I could allow Alvin to run free.

But all it takes is that one rabbit.

In this case the dog actually stopped at the street ….. the guys caught up and put his leash on.

It truly was a terrifying couple of seconds until we realized what was happening.

Could have ended very different …. for Alvin …. for the rabbit ….. for the white dog and me.

Well time to get this show on the road.

Thankfully it is still cool outside.

I will leave the fan on so that Alvin can stay cool.

Have an awesome Wednesday.

Special Hello to:  all those folks who faithfully support all of us bloggers …. thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 14th day of April, 2016.

Wow it is beginning to get light before 5:30 in the morning and soon it shall be light at 10:00 at night.

How cool is this?

Soon it will be light before 5:00 a.m.

I love long days and nights.

Makes me feel as though I have had a day most especially when I leave the house so early and am gone for so long.

Good for Alvin, as well.

The past couple of nights not sure what has got into me but I have been wanting to hit the sofa for extra sleep in the morning.

Perhaps the changes in the weather – tires one out more.

Oh well ….. that is life.

Mr. Alvin is quite the character ….. I switched the piece of rug around that my computer chair sits on and now he is laying at my feet under the desk on the rug.

He does love to be near his Momma.

I guess that is a good thing.

I will never get lost.

Or the other way around.

Well I am running a tad late ….. so have to go.

I hope that you have an awesome day.

Just remember that “every moment is a new opportunity.”

If we look at life in this light it makes it easier to make mistakes and carry on.

Those are my thoughts.

Special Hello to: all my fellow bloggers ….. keep up the great work.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 21st day of January, 2016.

I thought it would be fun to check out previous posts from years gone by.

This one is from today’s date but back in 2013.

To be honest I was going to share the one from this date in 2012 but the story made me cringe (something that scares me).

So I picked another one.

I think it is good to go back and see what was happening and what I/we were thinking.

I hope that you have an awesome Thursday.

By the way, just wanted to share that Alvin’s sister did not forget his birthday ….. she gave him a big bag of treats ….. he was so happy.

He loves them and is grateful to have such a wonderfully thoughtful sister.

*********************************************************

Good Monday morning and welcome to January 21st, 2013.

We received another covering of snow last night, and it was still snowing when Alvin went out around 5:00 a.m.

I love how Alvin stands in the doorway ….. he sniffs ….. “pretend sneezes” and then if he really has to go …. he will go outside.

Meanwhile the temperature in the house has dropped by two degrees.  ( Just kidding ).

But he surely does take several minutes working up the courage to go outside.

Most especially when it is cold or raining.

I do not blame him …… poor little guy and all the other animals that have to do the same.

What’s new with you this Monday morning?

Did you have a quiet weekend?

Spent relaxing? or did you Work?

I did a mix of both and I suspect that most of you did as well.

Well today is my early start so have to run.

I hope that you stay warm and safe on this day.

I hope that you are happy, healthy and abundant.

Take Care.

Special Hello to: all those new pet owners ….. thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Have a fun Thursday and spend a couple of minutes in reflection.

Looking back can be interesting.

Special Hello to: my fellow bloggers ….. isn’t it great to have a place to go back in time?

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Evening and Welcome to Sunday evening the 1st day of March, 2015.

Finally am feeling human once again.

Yesterday afternoon something hit me and I slept all afternoon … up for a few hours and then slept all night.

Then slept most of today as well.

Funny how by sleeping you can heal yourself.

I feel so much better …. my brain feels a tad foggy but that is due to being asleep for so many hours.

Thank goodness for my kids as they took the pups for a nice walk this afternoon.

YAY …..

Melting out there.

I just wanted to say a huge “thank you” to all those people who continue to read my blog.

The ones that have been with me since the beginning and to all those new people who continue to sign up…. you put me over the moon.

When I write this blog it is usually in the early morning hours and it is whatever pops into my head.

There are mornings where I am hit with a thought and write about it and other times it just pops into my mind as I write.

There are also times where I write and publish and then think of some other way of wording something or something I wished that I had written.

But all in all I just carry on and try to do better the next time.

I hope that you had a great weekend and I can honestly say that I am well rested ….. did not do much other than take Mr. Alvin to the Vet early Saturday morning and laundry.

That is it.

Take care and I will be back here tomorrow morning.

Special Hello to: all those people who read ….. it makes us want to write.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 29th day of January, 2015.

How are you this morning?

Another weekend about to arrive.

What are your plans?

Mine are pretty much the same from week to week.

I have a list of things to do on Saturday my day off for the week.

The list can range from laundry which is always on the top to running out to take Alvin to the Vet to have his pedicure to coffee with my girl friends to making jewellery to cleaning.

It is a varied list for the most part from week to week.

NICE.

I am very blessed and even though sometimes my “EGO” gets in the way ( I do not like when it rears it’s ugly head as I always go over and over the situation and give myself heck ).

I guess most people have a moment or three.

I try very hard every day to be polite, helpful and kind and not to let my feelings which are my EGO take over a situation.

Because it usually means I let a comment or situation be personal and most times they are not.

Last night I let some comments get my EGO and I regret a couple of things that I said and not that they were particularly mean or low-spirited but I felt regretful for letting the words leave my mouth.

You know what I mean.

I believe that most people let it happen from time to time.

Sometimes it is just that we take things personally when they are not meant to be .

Anyway …. that is my “thought” for this Friday.

Try to … I will be a better, more thoughtful, kind and generous person today.

Thank you for reading and I love your comments.

Special Hello to: all my fellow bloggers ….. great job.

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S: this thought has always ran through my mind ….. who are the people who get to design the “facial tissues boxes” ….. the KLEENEX boxes and such.  They always do such an awesome job.  Now I want my kleenex boxes to match my decor.  I would love to design these boxes.  I think this would be one of the best jobs on the planet and you never hear about it.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 23rd day of November, 2014.

The sky is bright with the sun.

Yesterday all I remember was snow from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed.

Mr. Sun is a welcome sight.

Whenever the sun is shining in the morning I always feel warm and full of light ….. always gives me a good feeling for the day.

So off to a great start for this Sunday the 23rd day of November, 2014.

Mr. Alvin in all his cuteness is looking out the window taking in the sights of the neighbourhood.

Not sure what he is looking for but he keeps his eyes focused just in case.

Of the top ten things that have happened to me during my lifetime he ranks very high.

I likely would not have agreed during the first month that I adopted him but once we got over that bump in the road it has been smooth sailing.

I can honestly say he is in my top ten right next to my daughter.

Funny how one day you can go from almost no snow to a thick blanket……

Well at this time I am enjoying my first cup of coffee and perhaps will even finish it before I leave the house.

Oh, almost forgot to mention this.

Yesterday I had big plans to prepare the letter that I send out with my Christmas cards.

So I was busy looking for a Christmas border or little Christmas widget on-line and found a few things.

So I began to type my letter and when I was almost finished I decided to put the replacement cartridges into the printer.

I took them out of the packaging and put them in.

They fit but as I looked at the screen that had said processing as I tried to print ….. it then said “did not recognize the cartridges.”

OH NO!

So I compared the model numbers and found out that I had purchased the wrong ones.

Well too late now.

AS I had to tear the packaging in order to get them out and then had opened them and actually had them in the machine.

What a waste of approximately $80.00.

Lesson learned.

Well maybe I can put them on KIJIJI and see if someone needs them.

Well time to go and finish getting ready.

Just had to share that experience.

I must remember to be more careful ….. they looked the same …. same size and colours.

Special Hello to: fellow bloggers …. sunny day ahead.

Always, Carol and Alvin
