Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 9th day of October, 2018.

I almost typed/keyed Monday ….. it is funny how habitual we are ….. first day of the work week for me is almost always Monday.

Mr. Alvin is curled up on his blue blanket on the floor beside me.

It is funny how the little things make you happy, make you feel content.

I feel that all is right with the world when Alvin is content, when he appears to be happy.

*****************

Life is filled with lightness and of dark.

Whether you see the light or feel the darkness.

We all pass the same way.

We are born, we eat and drink, we die.

So why is it that we feel the urge to label everyone.

Does it matter what colour your skin is?

Does it matter if you are woman or man?

Does it matter what your sexual preference is?

Does it matter if you believe in something greater than yourself?

Absolutely not.

We all are born onto this earth and we will all die on this earth.

We have to rethink our in between time on this earth.

So on this Tuesday …. just be a human being.

If you live in Canada, you are still a human being.

If you live in the U.S.A., you are still a human being.

If you live in Mexico, you are still a human being.

If you live in China or Russia, you are still a human being.

Nothing changes.

***********

Tuesday is grow day ….. learn something new.

Mr. Alvin moved from his blue blanket to sitting under my legs on the little piece of rug under my desk.

He likes to be close to me when I am at home.

So on this Tuesday, I hope that you are inspired to be a better human being.

I am.

Special Hello to: my friend “V” who inspires me daily.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 23rd of July, 2017.

Another family birthday …. Happy Birthday to my great nephew “B” …. Happy Day Buddy.

Sunny earlier and then the clouds rolled in.

We managed to get a walk in at the start of a small shower which did not last for our whole walk.

Alvin wanted to come home as soon as it started but I managed to coax him to keep trekking.

What a guy.

Just enjoying a cup of coffee on this rainy Sunday morning.

We need the moisture so no complaints here.

Quite the change from yesterday.

Well we are getting prepared for our company which will begin to arrive in less than two weeks.

Most of the stuff around the house is done …. just finishing touches …… groceries.

Well back to enjoying the cup of coffee.

Had the luckiest day yesterday.

One of my neighbours gave me a hand held clothes steamer and another one brought me three bags of KONO Hazelnut coffee straight from HAWAII and the first neighbour later brought over some watermelon and

during the cleaning of our office ….. I out of the blue decided to put out some cards ….. you know from past Mother’s Days and Birthdays ….. just because they are pretty …. and I FOUND …..

a $50.00 gift card for the movies.

I was going to use it toward a movie for friends and they would not let me so tucked it back in the card only to be found years later, 3 years later.

Can you believe it?

Also a couple of gals from work and me have been purchasing the odd lotto tickets.

One of the girls picked up lotto 649 tickets for yesterday and the Western Extra last three numbers were 9-5-7 (my birthday and year I was born).

It was a lucky day.

I am nervous to check the tickets.

Can you imagine?

What a day.

Time to run.

Neighbour coming for coffee.

Special Hello to: my sister …. soon …. very soon.

Always, Carol & Alvin

COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Wednesday, July 19, 2017 and it is the 22nd day until my 60th Birthday.

All I can say is that I think I am temporarily done with make lists for now.

My head hurts.

At this moment I am so grateful to be alive and have my life.

I am so grateful that I am turning 60.

I am so grateful that I am in great health, have wonderful, amazing family and friends, and that I am living my life the best way that I can.

Each moment to the fullest and learning along the way.

Creating memories.

Dancing to the beat of my own drum.

There may be a couple of small things that I would change or rather am working on …. such as the little non-rubber tire that has decided to place itself about my middle …. or perhaps

the lack of 000000’s behind the numbers in my bank account.

BUT You can have a great job, all the money in the world, lavish house and belongs, fancy cars and go on tours of the world but if you are not “living your best life” ….. well does it really matter?

It matters to me.

No matter what happens in any moment I learn and try to make the next ones better.

For Wednesday, the day of the week that my darling daughter was born.

The day that I chose.

It will always have a special place in my heart.

Always, Carol

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 13th day of June, 2016.

It is a beautiful, bright, blue sky morning here in Edmonton.

On a sad note, my neighbours are moving into their new house today and I shall have new neighbours.

On a happy note, (I love to get the sad out of the way first) ….

On a happy note, yesterday I spoke to my friend “M” on the telephone, actually heard her voice.

Sounds just like she did over twenty years ago.

Elton is coming to spend the day with Alvin so that is nice.

He spent a few hours with us yesterday.

Last night it just happened that a few of us neighbours met up on the front porch to chat about our years together.

Funny how fast time passes.

I have lived here seven years ….. hard to believe.

It will be different without S & M next door …. they have been great neighbours and friends.

Funny that no matter where life takes you …. your friends, your true friends will always be there.

Sometimes you do not see each other for decades and then life brings you back together.

It is as though no time has elapsed.

I am grateful for that.

Well I had better get this show on the road.

My ride will be here early this morning.

I want to be ready to go.

Have an awesome day and you never know where the day will take you.

Surprise.

Special Hello to:  my friends “M” and “W” ….. one known since before my daughter was born and the other worked with for decades.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 11th day of May, 2014.

Happy Mother’s Day.

It is bright and sunny here in Edmonton and I wish it to be beautiful weather for all the Mothers on our beautiful planet Earth.

I would like to say first off, thank you to my Mom.

She is no longer with us but I feel her strength in my essence every single day.

She instilled in me to have kindness and compassion to all others.

She also instilled in me to work hard and to always do the best job you can.

My grandmothers.

Unfortunately my maternal Grandmother passed when I quite young but I know she was a shy, kind, dear woman.

My paternal Grandmother was the one who taught me to love all kinds of music, to dance, to bake, to be interested in learning, to give to others and her love of jewellery and fashion.

I would say that I am no where near the “fashionista” that she was …. that is for sure.

Our Mothers teach us so much and we in turn pass on what we have learned.

So on this special day we celebrate our Mothers …. the ones who gave us birth, and to those who tend to all the children of the Earth.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Special Hello to: my sister who is a great Mom …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 13th day of January, 2014.

Today is my baby brother’s “49th” BIRTHDAY ….. Happy Happy Birthday “T.”

Seems like only yesterday he was just a baby …. I do remember it as I was 8 when he was born.

He was my baby……

Next year we will all be in our fifties ….. that will seem weird.

So on this beautiful Monday morning my thoughts reveal around birthdays.

How do you celebrate them?

Do you celebrate them?

I believe it is a time to celebrate your life.

They should be a happy day surrounded by family and friends.

So on this Monday ….. think about how you celebrate birthdays.

Your own and others.

Perhaps on the next one you can make it extra special.

Celebrate the life …..

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: my brother, of course.  Happy Birthday Sweetie.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 9th day of October, 2013.

Wow, it is Wednesday.

I love Wednesdays.

Mid week.

Pause to reflect on what you have accomplished thus far.

Pause to dream about things to come.

I think that Wednesdays are the one day that we do actually pause to reflect on things.

It is perfect.

Mid week.

I love Wednesdays.

My daughter was born on a Wednesday.

She was the perfect pause …. the perfect accomplishment and the best dream thus far.

Have a great Wednesday.

May all your dreams come true.

I am still dreaming.

“The lottery …… YES!!  Pay off the house …. maybe buy a car ….. RETIRE ….. and CHRISTMAS in the MOUNTAINS.  OH MY G….., HAPPY DANCE….. HAPPY DANCE……. SCREAMING…..

Special Hello: to all those dreamers….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Welcome to Friday, January 13th, 2012 …..

Today is a special day as my youngest brother celebrates his 47th Birthday.  So Happy Birthday Little Brother …… I hope that you have the greatest day.

Also this morning Mr. Alvin decided to change our morning routine up a bit.  As I was getting my notebook and pen – Alvin was rummaging around in his toy box.  His toy box is a small rubbermaid container  which lays on it’s side so that he can get things out.

When I was ready to sit down at the table to start writing which is the point where I pick him up, and place him on my lap – he comes over with his snowball in his mouth, ready to play.  So I figured what the hay …… so we played “fetch” for a few minutes.  Very cute ….. playing is always on his terms.  When he is ready to stop …. he stops.  No loud parade …. he just walks away.

So two things today …… Happy Birthday to my brother.  I so remember when he was born.  I do not remember the day that he came home from the hospital, but I do remember him as a baby.  Giving him his bottle and changing diapers, I was all of eight.  He was my dolly, a real life doll.  He was a pretty good baby and got lots of attention from his four siblings.  He always followed his older sisters around, and although there was only one year between the three boys …. he spent most of his time with us.  We played a lot of school and used our imaginations daily.  So have a great day …… there in Calgary.

Special Hello: to all of those lucky people to be born on this day ….. Happy Birthday.

Always, Carol

Thought for the day…..

I love this time of year.

Last night Alvin and I heard some geese honking nearby.

Always love the renewal that is spring.

Babies being born.

Green grass poking up in spots.

Tulips blooming (the ones I saw were at the local grocery store).  LOL

But they will be out soon.

The warmness of the sun.

The longer days.

I love this time of year.

Happy Spring Everyone…..

Always, Carol
