Second Half of the NEW YEAR

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Two days to enjoy before heading to work on Monday.

Now that being said …. heading to work means moving down the desk to my second chair and workspace.

Seems odd but I do love working from home.

Perhaps this will be my forever set up …. working from home.

I will keep those thoughts.

Well yesterday Mr. Alvin and his Momma, Me had the most delightful walking adventure.

We left the house just before 12:30 p.m. and arrived back home about 2:30 p.m.

Two hours of walking and enjoying the scenery.

I apologize for this being posted so late.

I started to download or upload the photos from my computer to this page and it took forever.

Likely as I had so many to do.

Then I joined the second of four, of my Fifth Avenue Jewelry online showings for my jewelry party weekend at just after 10:00 a.m.

That is a mouth full.

So cool that so much can be done online.

Then Laundry happened.

Finally I have all of the photos that I snapped on our 2020 Summer Vacation Hike.

It ended up being warmer than I had anticipated but I took water.

I know that in some of the closeups Alvin looks as though he is going to keel over but trust me I was keeping an eye on him at all times.

We hit the shade often and he drank almost two of his water bottles during our two hours.

We had the best time.

Stopping for snacks along the way.

Bumping into our friends on the way home.

When we were leaving the park and about half way home, Alvin was running out of water.

I happened to see a young man out with his children and was holding a garden hose.

So I politely asked if he would refill Alvin’s water bottle and he said “most certainly.”

We were very grateful and thanked him and then were on our way.

We spent two hours out and about and most of the time slowly walking along.

It was gloriously.

As Mr. Alvin is getting older …. I am not certain how many more long walks he will be able to endure so I was pleased that we had this opportunity.

He especially loved the treat breaks.

The trees and the grass was so green.

I snapped shots of almost everything in our path.

I will say that holding a water bottle and a doggie on a leash and trying to snap photos with the cell was difficult at times.

But we did end up with some nice shots.

I most especially loved the ones in the further park (beginning of the photos) as you feel as though you are walking in a forest.

We came across so many folks out walking their dogs.

Sometimes when the dogs were larger we detoured down a side path.

There was one older dog that we kept bumping into and finally ended up getting quite close.

I offered him some water as he appeared to be hot.

But he did not take any of the water.

Poor old guy was blind in one eye.

He was a larger doggie and was actually younger than Alvin.

Alvin does not have grey hair as yet.

No dye jobs either, lol.

Well here it is almost noon.

I had better get this show on the further road.

Have an awesome day.

I hope that you enjoy seeing our photos from our Summer Vacation 2020 Hike.

I guess we will have to watch the weather and see when okay to go for a walk.

Right now the sky is overcast.

There is a cool breeze.

Living life with kindness and respect.

Enjoying each and every moment.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 26th day of September, 2016.

Today is the Birthday of my son-in-law “S” …

Alvin and I would like to wish you the most wonderful day.

See you guys tomorrow night for supper and birthday cake.

The chocolate cake was baked yesterday.

*******************************************************

Forecast for this Monday is 23 degrees celsius.

Yesterday was amazing.

Alvin and I left our house at 11: 45 a.m. and walked past our immediate neighbourhood, past the neighbouring area and into the next one.

It was the most glorious day hovering somewhere around the 22 degree mark.

Just a guess.

It was perfect.

I made certain to take two important items with us.

One being water for my boy.

The other my camera.

I just knew that the leaves would be beautiful.

Never knew about the geese, they were a pleasant surprise.

Water fountains galore.

Trees and grasses.

Alvin taking in the sights as his Momma snaps some more photos. We took several water breaks along the way.

The reds and yellows.

img_4747 img_4748 img_4749 img_4750 img_4751 img_4752 img_4753 img_4754 img_4755 img_4756 img_4757 img_4758 img_4759 img_4760 img_4761 img_4762 img_4763 img_4764 img_4765 img_4766 img_4767 img_4768 img_4769 img_4770 img_4771 img_4772 img_4773 img_4774 img_4775 img_4776

Alvin saw the bronze deer from a distance and began to growl.  I explained to him that it was just ornamental.

He walked up to it as if to say “I got this” and then he was over it. He sniffed and checked out every spot we passed.

We have many of these bronze deer of all sizes in every park in the area.

img_4791 img_4792 img_4793 img_4794 img_4795 img_4796 img_4797 img_4798 img_4799 img_4800 img_4801 img_4802 img_4803 img_4804 img_4805 img_4806 img_4807 img_4808 img_4809 img_4810 img_4811 img_4812 img_4813 img_4814 img_4815 img_4816 img_4817 img_4818 img_4819 img_4820 img_4821 img_4822 img_4823 img_4824 img_4825 img_4826 img_4827

The one of my shoulder – an odd one.  I believe it happened when I accidentally turned my camera the wrong way.

Really not meant to be a selfie….. laughing aloud.

That is what happens when you are holding a leash, a certain someone’s water bottle and trying to take photos.

img_4828 img_4829 img_4830 img_4831 img_4832 img_4833

So pretty.  I love this path.  The trees are right up beside the path making one feel like you are walking through a forest.

img_4834 img_4835 img_4836 img_4837 img_4838 img_4839 img_4840 img_4841 img_4842 img_4843 img_4844 img_4845

Coming home.  The stop sign is across the street from the park closest to our home.

The flowers in the planters and the wild roses are still blooming like crazy.

img_4846 img_4847

Well it was so much fun.  I hope that you enjoy our photos.

I am so glad that we decided to go on this adventure.

We had the best two hours.

Alvin is pooped this evening.

Happy Monday.

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: my friends near and far.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Welcome to Monday, November 7th, 2011.

How are you this great Monday morning?

I am fantastic ….

Guess what I did on Saturday?

In the afternoon my daughter helped me assemble the Christmas tree.

I started the decorating process (still have to finish).

Put up some garland and most of my angel collection.

Always start with the A-N-G-E-L-S……

I decided this time around that I would start with a few ornaments and work from there.

Usually I completely redecorate my Christmas tree about 4-5 times during the holiday season.

I always strive to make it better……. that’s okay….. the perfectionist!

Later on my neighbours and I put up the outside decorations.

It looks great.

Reminds me of the homes in the movies….. with garland and lights around the doors, around the windows and on the steps.

We even have matching miniature Christmas trees sitting on our front porches.

Of course positioned just so.

They were putting up the big, big trees at West Edmonton Mall when I was leaving work Friday night.

There is this huge one … (no idea of the height) that they were working on as I left the mall….

the girls had the bottom about 1/3 decorated …. I remarked how pretty it was and what a big job….

They had huge boxes of red and silver balls …… all sizes….

Now that’s a tree…… makes my 7 1/2 foot tree seem small….

I am always in awe of how pretty the staff make the mall look for Christmas.

You all know the big ship/boat on the main floor at the mall …… there is this huge bridge that goes over

the water ….. and it is all decorated with lights and ornaments and the boat, too.  OMG.

There were people on the bridge having their photos taken as I left the mall last night.

Seems like I am at the mall a lot (yes Friday and Sunday)….

For the first time in my life I am working at a mall and not shopping……

Anyway I love this time of year…..

Our store is decorated beautifully by the staff and we are playing Christmas music during store hours.

Just a peek into my holiday season.

I hope that yours is going great.

Special Hello: to every one of the seven billion inhabitants of the planet Earth and of course, to the all other creatures here as well…..

Always, Carol
