It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning, Good Tuesday Morning.

Alvin and I had a wonderful walk last night.

Oh my gosh, the air was so warm as it touched our faces and the sun SHINING full force.

It was totally a spring day.

Soon the trees will be budding.

The birds will return from down south.

We walked again on the opposite side of the street which was definitely more clear that our side.

I cannot wait until we have dry sidewalks once again.

I am hoping for a repeat today.

Yesterday I caught the bus to and from work and met up with a coworker who lives in a nearby area.

We caught the same bus from the main bus terminal to our office.

At first we sat across from each other but at the West Edmonton Mall some of the people got off to catch other connections.

So we were able to sit together and chat on our way to work.

Happy Birthday to my son-in-law’s brother D.

We hope that you have an awesome day.

I was just saying to Mr. Alvin – what do you think I should write about today?

He just stared at me.

Wondered what that meant.

I have no idea.

Maybe that is what he was thinking or not.

Somedays I wished that he could talk.

I do know that he feels when things are good and not so good.

Tuition – natural instinct.

Yesterday was quiet in the office.

We were down to 4 from 8 in our little group.

One was on training and the other three, under the weather, I suppose.

So many things going around.

I am thankful that when people are feeling poorly that they just stay at home.

Especially this time of year.

Well almost time to head on downstairs.

Clean up the poop from earlier.

Make sure that Mr. Alvin goes again before I leave.

It is a long day for the little guy.

I do feel guilty about that for sure.

Grab the lunch and out the door.

I guess putting on boots may be helpful, lol.

Well I am out of words and thoughts for now.

I hope that life is treating you with kindness and respect.

I hope that you are treating life with kindness and respect.

Living … One day at a time

Good Morning …. Tuesday it is.

Dark out and that will be our reality for the next few months as we enter winter.

Yesterday was a crazy day.

Started out with my carpool not going in to work.

Grateful that I was able to catch a ride to work with Humphrey’s Mom.

So grateful.

I was prepared as I had a winter coat and boots out and ready to wear.

When catching the bus you have to be prepared for anything weatherwise.

When I got to work I was pleasantly surprised just outside the office building by the approach of a man.

The man turned out to be my brother from another mother.

He feels like my younger brother.

In fact, I quite often refer to him as such.

We used to work together and he is such a nice guy.

It was wonderful to see him and catch up.

Throughout the day it was busy.

At 3:45 p.m. the fire alarm went off in our building.

The alarm is deafening.

I grabbed my phone, purse and coat (not in that order).

Not realizing until I was outside that my house keys were in my big bag.

Four fire trucks came out to the call.

We waited semi patiently outside in the freezing cold and wind for the all clear to go back inside.

I did think to text Humphrey’s Mom and thankfully she was able to come over and let Alvin outside and feed him.

I had no idea of how long it was going to take before we could go back in.

It was almost twenty minutes later before we got the call.

The other half of the building is under construction / renovations.

This is not the first time the alarm has gone off and was not a test.

Once given the go ahead I rushed back into the building and up the stairs.

Got to my desk.

Turned off the computer.

Put on my boots, grabbed the big bag (checked for house keys), threw my purse inside the bag and ran to the bathroom.

Cause everyone knows when you get cold you have to pee.

Yup, I said that word.

Once done, I made a hasty exit of the building and walked as fast as I could for the bus stop.

I was pretty certain that I was going to be late but held out hope that I would make it.

At least at the end of it all – Alvin was fed and let outside.

So I did not have to worry about him.

Luckily I managed to get not the first bus but the next one.

We passed the first one at some point and I only had to wait at the bus terminal for a few moments.

Even got home near the same time as usual when I catch the bus.

Whew.

So grateful …..

Well almost time to head downstairs.

That was my Monday.

Today will be quiet and easy.

Let us hope.

With kindness and respect, I shall get through each day.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 18th day of October, 2017.

Yesterday was a mix of weather.  Ended with strong winds and rain.

Just have to share a lovely story.
So last week while waiting for the bus to go home – a vehicle stopped on the street and the driver was waving like mad. I was waiting with a young man from work and he didn’t recognize the vehicle so I decided to walk over as the light was red and see who it was. Well it was a gal that I met while riding the old bus. She asked me if I wanted a ride home. Well I said, “Yes, thank you.” As it turned out she gave me rides home all last week and even last night. Tonight was back to riding the bus. While waiting for the bus another gal I have been chatting with stopped and said let’s get out of the wind and rain and go inside the bus shelter, so we did. Our bus came a few minutes later and on we climbed. We chatted on the ride. When the bus made its’ first stop at West Edmonton Mall I noticed this red vehicle with Oilers flags and immediately thought of my friend. Laughed it off because I thought why would she be stopped in the bus lane at the mall ….. thinking must be a coincidence. So fast forward …. get off the bus at Lewis Farms (terminal) into a HUGE wind and rain….thinking oh, now waiting in this …. then I hear a voice and look over and in the parking lot see this red car and my friend. Here she was literally two cars ahead of the bus all the way. She figured it may have been divine intervention … meant to be that she picked me up …. we had a great laugh. Here she had seen me at the bus stop downtown but could not pull over and I was in the shelter and did not see her. By the time she could get stopped on the next street and parked, the bus had stopped and I was gone. How crazy GREAT is this. This is the best BUS STORY EVER. I am eternally grateful to my friend for coming to rescue me from this weather and driving me home.

P.S. forgot to mention that she had called me at work and left a message.  Note to self ….. keep checking messages.

Well here we are off to start another day.

It is still a bit windy but nothing like yesterday late afternoon.

I am forever grateful to know such thoughtful, kind and generous folks.

Have an awesome Wednesday.

Special Hello to: all FRIENDS all over the world.  You rock and I am blessed.

Always, Carol & Alvin
