COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Tuesday, July 11, 2017 and it is the 30th day until my 60th Birthday.

Okay, now we are less than one month until my Birthday.

I am so excited.

My sister is coming from Saskatchewan to stay with me and Alvin for TEN days.

So excited about that.

My youngest brother is also coming from Calgary for an undetermined amount of time.

Any amount of time I can have with my family is time well spent.

When I think about all of the time over the years that we have spent together it makes me HAPPY.

Doing the Happy DANCE right now.

When you surround yourself with the ones you love and laugh, you know the real deep down belly laughing.

That is the absolute BEST.

Also my daughter is on vacation at the same time as me, and I am looking forward to spending some extra time with her as well.

Sometimes the BEST VACATION of all is sitting around the kitchen table drinking coffee with your sister, your brother and your daughter.

Perhaps throw in some freshly baked cinnamon buns.

Not sure where that came from …….

Simple times ….. are the best.

So many thoughts …..

Always, Carol

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 4th day of August, 2015

It is a glorious but sad morning here in Edmonton.

My sister and brother who I have been with since Friday are leaving for home.

My sister is going to my brother’s until tomorrow and then flying home to Regina.

Home for my brother is Calgary.

Alvin has enjoyed their stay the past couple of days.

This will be short so that I can spend the last few minutes with them before they leave and before I leave to catch the bus to work.

Alvin will miss having them here as will I.

I hope that all is well with you all.

Have the best first Tuesday in August, 2015.

Special Hello to: my friends and family.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 26th day of June, 2015.

YAY, it is the weekend.

It is a gorgeous morning here in Edmonton.

Few clouds clearing up from our rain and lightning storm overnight.

Sun rising.

Breeze keeping it cool for now.

Forecast is for another hot day.

Yesterday on the bus ride home ….

Several times over the radio a female voice announced to the drivers “that another driver was pulled over and sick to their stomachs” …. she also reminded them to keep hydrated and if they feel faint or sick to PULL OVER.

Our bus driver comments “they are dropping like flies.”

That is a great reminder to everyone in this heat “KEEP HYDRATED” ….

That is also a HUGE REMINDER to those people who have children and pets …. KEEP THEM HYDRATED.

I was kind of upset as I noticed on my bus ride home all of the people out walking their dogs in this heat.

Honestly some people do not think before they act.

Hot weather is not great for anyone, and can you imagine with a fur coat.

That is why animals in the wild stay in the shade during the heat of the day.

Hopefully today people realize that and keep their pets cool and hydrated.

Also not one of those people owners had water with them.

Well it is almost time for me to leave to go to work.

I am so grateful that I have central air.

I am so grateful that Mr. Alvin will be home and comfortable.

We always wait and walk later in the evening although I am sad to say that we have not walked the past couple of nights.

But better to be healthy than suffer from heat stroke.

Animals get heat stroke, too.

Same as us.

Special Hello to: my sister who is leaving Regina for Calgary this afternoon …. safe drive, you guys.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 28th day of January, 2015.

Well last night as I was chipping away at the ice at the front of my house it was raining lightly.

The storm drain is at the front of my house so all of the ice that melts collects there and if not kept clean it accumulates into one big sheet of ice.

As hard as I try sometimes to keep it ice free sometimes it gets away on me.

So I finally was able to get a good bit of it free so that at least when folks are walking on the sidewalk they can walk around.

Some of the ice is too thick for me to remove.

Anyway …. this was the point I was getting to …..

It was pouring rain again last night …. yes, pouring rain in January in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Not our normal evening that is for sure.

Over night the rain turned to snow so that is some very sticky snow covering the ground.

What crazy weather we all have been experiencing this January.

Calgary had 19 degrees celsius the other day as well as some places in British Columbia. (which I could see).

Only a few days left of January 2015 and hopefully the weather holds.

So anyone out walking …. be careful.

To our neighbours to the south on the east coast ….. take care.

We have been there.

Stay warm and safe.

Stay home if you can.

Well time to go ….. all thoughts just go to this crazy weather.

One of my shows that I normally record was over taken by a weather report.

Have a great day everyone.

Special Hello to: my friends and family all over the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Well here we are at Wednesday, January 4th, 2012.

Last night before Alvin and I went to bed …. it was raining outside and this morning when we went outside it was still raining.

Wow, can you believe it …. rain in January in Western Canada……we are in Edmonton …. I could almost see this happening in Calgary but here!

I am in awe of this winter weather ……. so much different from the early forecasts.

So for all of friends and loved ones who booked trips to sunny lands …… our weather has been so great.

I hope that wherever you are …. your weather is beautiful ….

I must say that Alvin and I have been enjoying our walks in the evenings.

I am most grateful for these gorgeous nights.

So almost time to sign off and do those last minute things before leaving for work.

Have a blessed, gorgeous, safe and wonderful day to everyone.

Special Hello: to all the pets all over the world and to all those animals looking for a wonderful home …. may you find the perfect one today.

Always, Carol
