Living … One day at a time.

Hello, good morning.

It is a beautiful morning here in Edmonton.

The sun is shining and as I look out of my office window at home, I can see the sun shining through the golden leaves of a neighbour’s tree to the south.

So beautiful.

This is our Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend.

I am thankful for all of the things in my life.

Even the “cold sore” that seems to have landed on my upper lip.

I have so much to be thankful for.

Even the messy stuff is all good.

Every bit of life good or bad is to be thankful for.

My life is certainly not perfection and I sometimes might choose to see life through rose coloured glasses but …

It is my life ….

I am surrounded by the best people and while they are fantastic even those relationships are sometimes not 100% rosey.

But that is life.

Right?

Perfection is sloppy.

Perfection is messy.

Perfection is your perfect.

Different for everyone.

We had a great night with Humphrey over for a visit.

I am always amazed at how well they get on.

The first moment he arrives …. Alvin runs to the door and they touch noses.

I guess that is their way of saying hello.

If one goes outside they both go outside.

If one comes in most times they both come in.

Tonight Teddy comes for a sleepover.

He will spend Sunday with us.

Tomorrow my daughter, son-in-law and grand pups comes for our Thanksgiving meal.

Life is good.

Well time to get that life is good thing going …. there is laundry to do and coffee to drink.

Time to change from pj’s into day time clothes.

With kindness and respect I shall live my life.

Remembering how blessed I am.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Happy Thanksgiving …

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 10th day of October, 2015.

YAY, it is Saturday ….. WHOO HOO ……

Sun was shining and now is clouding up a bit but the temperature is warm.

It is this weekend that we celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving.

On this weekend, I am grateful to live in my neighbourhood surrounded by wonderful people; grateful for a wonderful City, Province and Country.

Grateful for my family and friends.

Grateful to live in peace.

Grateful that I have Alvin to see before I close my eyes and when I open them in the morning.

Grateful for good food and words.

Grateful for the medicines and the technologies that have got us to this place.

It is a great weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians.

May we continue to grow and prosper.

May we continue to be kind and generous, respectful and compassionate.

This is the weekend to reflect and remember how we got to this place.

To be grateful …..

Time to get this show on the road.

Lots to do ….. VOTE (advance polls), Scentsy party, Alvin’s bath, computer stuff, perhaps rake the leaves again (did yesterday, too) …… the list is much longer.

Special Hello to: family and friends, Happy Thanksgiving.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 7th day of October, 2015.

What a gorgeous past few days here in Edmonton.

This morning when I opened the door to let Mr. Alvin outside ….. I was surprised to see the deck wet from RAIN.

Our temperatures are to be warm for the next days and that is wonderful.

What a great fall we are having …..

Alvin and I love going on our walks …..

Last night we combined our walk with a mission ….

Delivering some invitation to my Open House for Steeped Tea on the 17th of October.

We were lucky to find all of my friends and neighbours at home and of course had a short visit with each of them.

I truly feel blessed to live in such a great neighbourhood.

Everyone I know is really great.

One more work today after today and I will be celebrating an extra long Thanksgiving weekend starting with Friday off.

YAY ….

Lots to do but I am excited.

Time to do the “fall” cleanup in the house.

Go through closets (or finish as I have started) …. get my office in order ….. wash baseboards and wipe down walls …. that sort of thing.

A big job but one room at a time.

Perhaps I can get Mr. Alvin to lend a paw or two.

We shall see.

At least he could bring me a rag ……

I am so grateful for the good weather.

I am so grateful for my neighbours.

I am so grateful for my four-legged companion Alvin.

I am so grateful for my daughter and her family.

I am so grateful for my life.

Well looks like I am on time this morning.

YAY me.

Sometimes the time just gets away on me in the morning.

Even though I get up at virtually the same time each day ….

How does that happen?

Have an awesome mid week.

Special Hello to: all those folks who are feeling blessed this morning …. let us share our blessings.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

It was almost 11:30 p.m. when I got to bed last night and up at 7:20 as Alvin had to go outside.

The sun was already up ( OMG ) and the sky a beautiful blue.

I am happy, happy, happy to say the least.

So grateful first off that Alvin slept past his usual 4:20 a.m..

Secondly that the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

Thirdly I just feel GREAT.

Ready to take on the world.

So the thought for this day …..

FEEL GREAT AND TAKE ON THE WORLD.

The World can be within your household, neighbourhood, city, country or global.

We are after all – all connected.

So on this Thanksgiving weekend for us Canadians and for you all everywhere.

Have a safe, happy, healthy, wondrous weekend.

Be thankful for all that you have and all that you are.

You are amazing, always remember that!

Take Care.

Always, Carol

P.S. –  A very special Happy Thanksgiving to my dear family and friends all over the globe.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning Everyone!

Alvin had a great play-date yesterday with friends.

In fact, this morning he was much more “quiet” than other mornings of late.

I think it it good for both man and beast or in our case both dog and woman, to play.

We should all plan a play-date.

Take some time to do an activity that you love.

Play with your dog, your cat, your children, your husband, friend, mother, brother or father …. your whomever…

JUST RELAX AND HAVE FUN.

LET YOUR HAIR DOWN ( I love that old phrase).

I wish you all a happy, blessed, awesome, amazing, fun filled Friday and Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Take Care.

Always, Carol
