Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 21s day of September, 2015.

Rained all night but has stopped now.

I think we have had more rain in September than all summer or at least it seems that way.

How are you feeling this fine Monday morning?

I always have to boost myself up after Sunday nights.

Usually I cannot settle down and go to sleep …. too many thoughts.

Are you this way?

It is just like the night before going on a big trip?

You go through your suitcase ….. do a checklist.

You make sure in your mind that you have your passport, traveller’s cheques, cash.

Because you keep imagining the airline clerk asking for your passport and you cannot find it.

I had that dream and wasn’t even going anywhere.

Who knows … what that means?

You make sure that you gave the spare key to your neighbour who is watching your house while you are gone.

You make sure that unnecessary electrical appliances are unplugged.

The whole gambit …. you go through.

For me most Sundays nights I go through that day, the next, the week and it certainly did not help that it was raining.

Oh well, I made sure that I had some energy boosters for breakfast ( oh, the natural ones of course ).

Green tea – MATCHA ….. very good.

Just in case you are going somewhere ….. always have a checklist.

Passport anyone!

Well it was an interesting Sunday …. my daughter was supposed to come but was not able to in the end.

Part of the plan was to make pancakes (which I did … pumpkin spiced ones) and give Mr. Alvin a hair cut & bath.

OMG, he is such a DIVA.

I will admit that I raised my voice …. likely close to yelling very briefly when I struggled to trim his paws.

Finally I managed to get them trimmed pretty good or at least way better than the time before …..

We did have a good Sunday …… all in all.

Well I guess I had better get this show on the road.

Almost time to go and catch that earlier bus ….

So happy it stopped raining and hopefully the sun will shine today.

Special Hello to: my friends back in Regina …..

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 23rd Day of May, 2015.

It is a gloriously beautiful sunny fresh morning here in Edmonton.

In a few minutes my daughter and grand-puppies will arrive.

They are coming for coffee and a visit.

Alvin will be returning home with them as today is furnace cleaning day.

I was also invited to a “STEEPED TEA” party at a neighbour’s house so will try and attend.

Also check in on Miss Aussie …..

Lots to do.

Last night Alvin and I went out for a later than usual walk.

It all started with him at the top of the stairs.

He doesn’t like putting his harness on …. even though his Momma handles it all with care.

I noted “his girlfriend” Abi had gone by earlier and was hoping that the mere mention of her name would bring him running.

Did not happen.

So when I saw Abi and her Mom going by I went out to say hi and asked Abi to come in knowing that would bring him down.

IT WORKED.

I grabbed his harness and we were out the door.

After a short visit with them we were on our way.

We were a few doors away from home when I stopped another friend out watering her grass.

We stopped for a chat and ended up visiting on her back deck.

As the sun was starting to go down I figured we had better get on our way.

Approaching the park near our house I saw in the distance a large black dog and his Dad.

So I decided to walk around the park inside of going into it until I realized it was our friends.

Into the park we went.

The large black dog is CASH and he is only three.

He loves to play.

So visiting again …..

We then decided as the mosquitoes were starting to get bad to walk home.

They live down the street by our house.

Once we got to their house …. guess what.

We stopped once again ….. we got home at 10:30 and I think it was just after 8:00 when we left ….

It was a glorious evening and so nice to be out and about.

We both enjoying the time with our neighbours and friends.

I am so blessed to be surrounded by great folks.

Make sure that you get to know the people around you ….. spend time with them.

On those spring and summer evening when you are out and about …… stop for a visit.

Well time to get going …. gotta check on Miss Aussie before the company arrives.

It will be a day of yard work once the furnace is cleaned ….

I am pulling some shrubs, mowing grass and watering.

I hope that you are having an awesome Saturday and weekend.

Special Hello to: all my friends

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 23rd day of July, 2013.

It is a beautiful sunny morning here in Edmonton.

Alvin decided to stay outside in the backyard for a whole minutes after he had his breakfast.

So it cut into our walk time …. so instead when he did come in we had quiet time on the sofa.

Last night after supper we had a grand walk by one of our neighbourhood lakes.

Well actually there are three right beside each other.

While out we saw one of our neighbour’s “D” and his dog Cash.

So we chatted and let the doggies get more social with one another.

More to be in each other’s space without touching.

Good lesson to learn.

Respect.  (We could all learn from these dogs).

Cash is a one year old much larger dog than Alvin.

He is full of energy and is learning to socialize with other dogs.

Alvin barked once at him and then laid down and then did his thing.

He seemed to know and I think he is getting used to Cash.

“D” is such a good “Dad” to Cash and is teaching him well.

In time they will be best buds for sure but for now they are learning.

While on our way home we bumped into another person we had met a few weeks ago.

So many great people in our neighbourhood.

Kind and friendly and smiling.

I am most blessed.

Do you live in a great neighbourhood?

So on this bright Tuesday my thoughts lean towards home and living in such a beautiful area and knowing that I am most lucky and grateful.

Have a great day and I hope that you are as fortunate as I am….

Take care.

Special Hello:  Congratulations and Hello to William and Kate, the royals who welcomed their first baby, a son yesterday in London.
