Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 14th day of April, 2019.

The sky is partially covered with clouds.

I am planing to go and pick up the trash in our neighbourhood as this week the street cleaners are coming.

I like to have the garbage picked up at least once before they arrive.

Then they can get the leaves, sand and dirt when they give it the spring cleaning.

My daughter mentioned she might be coming for a visit.

I have the ingredients for pancakes so I will go and prepare them in a few minutes.

Another busy day on the way.

I took Humphrey back home while Alvin and I went to his regular five week appointment at his Veterinarian.

He had his pedicure done and his ears checked and “stuff.”

Once back home, I went and picked up Humphrey and brought him back to our house.

Then put on the coffee and called the girls to come on over.

At one point Mr. Humphrey was trying to make a getaway as he started to move the rocks from beside the back gate.

I caught him in the nick of time and put the rocks back in place.

What a guy.

Now have to keep an eagle eye on him.

Had a great visit with the girls.

One of the girls surprised us with an Easter Treat.

Chocolate of course.

I am going to save mine for a bit.

After our visit with the girls; carried on with the laundry.

Raked the back yard once again and swept the deck.

Over the course of the day went for a walk with Alvin; our neighbour and the doggie that she was away looking after, Luna.

As she had come back home to spend the night.

Luna is a big LAB and is full of energy.

We only walked our new route before returning home and they continued.

Once back home I raked the front lawn and made a big pot of chilli.

After supper and the final loads of laundry.

Went to the grocery store with my neighbour.

I drove her car on her insistence.

Seemed strange but always good to keep up your driving skills.

Then back home.

We had a quiet evening.

Watching a bit of television before heading off to bed.

That is our life.

Pretty low key but I love it.

One of my favourite parts of the weekend thus far was Humphrey the Cat digging the rocks out by the fence.

He has done that at his home.

Well I guess time to get dressed and get the pancake batter made.

Ready for company?

Yes, we are.

Always.

I hope that you are having an exceptional weekend.

Maybe a nice relaxing mug of coffee on the deck.

A walk to your nearest park.

Snuggles with your puppy.

How about giving your puppy a massage (Alvin likes his neck and upper back massaged).

Maybe you raked your lawn.

Finished all the laundry yesterday so that you can walk today.

Reach out to a friend or loved one.

Reading your favourite book.

Cleaning out your closets and preparing bags for charity.

Happy Sunday.

Have an awesome day.

Special Hello to: all the women in my life ….. my daughter, my sister, my aunt, cousins and friends and co-workers.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 24th day of February, 2018.

The sun is shining brightly and the sky is a beautiful blue.

Smoke from neighbours chimney signifies that it is still winter and the snow resting on the garage roof tops.

All this I see from my office window.

A birdie flew by …. ah.

The house is quiet without my Alvin.

He is visiting at his sister’s home since Thursday night arriving back home tomorrow morning.

I miss the little guy.

I think that I tossed and turned more than I slept …. too used to have Alvin snuggling next to me.

Some of the gals that I work with had purchased a LOTTO MAX TICKET for last night’s draw.

The draw was for $60 MILLION DOLLARS.

We did not win.

The lucky ticket was purchased in one of our ATLANTIC provinces.

Great to see them win for a change.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to have no thoughts about money.

Imagine having $15 MILLION as that would have been my share.

No mortgage, retirement sooner, than later, and so much more.

It would be wonderful to have access to that kind of money.

If you wanted to donate a large sum to charity – you could.

If you wanted to hop on a plane and go visit family and friends – you could.

If you wanted to hire a professional painter to paint your entire house – you could.

If you wanted to spoil yourself – you could.

If you wanted to pay for someone’s education – you could.

If you wanted to help your siblings and children to retire and make life changes – you could.

If you wanted to help a friend pay off their mortgage – you could.

If you wanted to buy a house for someone that would likely never have that opportunity – you could.

The dream will keep running.

Not giving up.

What would you do with $15 MILLION DOLLARS?

************************************************

I guess it is time to go and have breakfast, make coffee, empty the dishwasher, tidy up the house and prepare for finishing up canvassing for the HEART AND STROKE FUND.

Followed by dinner and a movie.

Night out with the girls.

I usually stay at home, so this is a nice treat.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Special Hello to: all those folks who are celebrating birthdays today and this month.  It has been a busy birthday month.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 12th day of September, 2015.

The sun is up and the sky is clear and there is a breeze.

YAY for Saturday.

In just over one hour my friends “G” and “S” are coming for coffee and a visit.

I miss them as we have not had a regular coffee visit together for a while.

Summer is busy for families.

Following their visit my daughter is coming for a visit, too.

What a great day.

Mr. Alvin is pacing the floor as he is excited for all of our company.

Wouldn’t it be nice if that is all a person had to do was to visit with family and friends.

Just entertain.

Entertain only.

I would love that ….

I definitely could have been the wife of a big CEO, and spent my time entertaining and doing charity work.

Well maybe not all of the time but I do love the though of entertaining.

Visiting …. chatting …. the planning and the execution.

What are the things that you love to do?

I have been thinking of that a lot as of late.

After you reach and past the age of “55” and now I am 58, you do spend time thinking about all the things you would like to be doing.

There has to be a way, right.

Yell up at the Universe … show me the way.

Something like that …..

Well slowly but surely I will get there.

I am doing some of the things that I love but only in small parcels …. that has to change.

I will find a way.

I will.

Well time for a shower and prepare for my, our company.

I hope that you have an awesome Saturday.

Remember do the things that you love / are passionate about and then find a way to make money doing them.

Special Hello to: my friends “V” and “M” who are doing the things they love.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Tuesday Morning and Welcome to the 16th day of April 2013.

How are you this fine morning?

I am doing great.

It is light outside this morning in Edmonton.

I love this time of year for many things but most especially for it being light before I leave for work and when I get home from work.

It seems like you have more of the day for yourself with the light.

Do you have any special plans for the remainder of April?

Perhaps you are going away on a spring vacation?

Or perhaps you have already starting to put away your winter clothing and bring out the spring stuff.

I love putting the winter away and bringing out the spring wardrobe.

This year I am going to be more thorough and go through the items that I have not worn in more than a season or three and give them to charity.

It always feels great to give items to those in need.

After all if you are not wearing your clothes …. they are just taking up valuable real estate.

In fact, that is my “task” for the summer …. to go through the house and dispose of all the things that I do not use.

The only things that should be packed away are:  Christmas decorations and the season of clothing, shoes, boots and coats that you are not currently wearing.

Everything in the house should be in use.

So that is what I am setting out to do.

Well time to go to work.

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: YOU

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..perhaps the NEW YEAR !!

Well, here we are …. December 31st, 2011 ….. winding down the last few hours of this year.  I wonder where did the time go?  It has been a crazy year for me, Alvin and my family.  Upon reflection, the events of this past year have made through conversations; me realize that yes in fact, I do have something worthwhile to write, and have published into a book.  It has been a dream on mine as you all know …. to be a published writer in my life-time.  I have been writing since I was a child.  There has been many a poem, short story, lyrics for songs and starts to novels …. more than I can say.  But it has been this last year ….. that has really awaken the “writer” in me and made me realize that yes, I have the stuff that is required to be an author.  I love words and love putting them together in whatever form may “hit” me at whatever time.  So with the love and support of family and friends I boldly enter my next chapter …… 2012 will be my biggest and best year ever.  Forgive all the “I’s” ….. but I know it to be true and I believe it to be true….. this is MY YEAR ….. 2012.  I am going to make all of my dreams come true.

Instead of making New Year’s Resolutions ….. I am going to make a few statements, and work on them throughout the year.

1.  Every week I shall endeavour to go though a drawer, box or cupboard …. the HOUSE, and make certain that each and every single item in my house is something that I will continue to use for the next year.  If an item is not being used … it will be given to someone who would value it , sold or recycled.  A portion of any sales will be given to charity.

2.  I will walk with Alvin at least six nights each week.  (every night I will give Alvin a belly rub as has become our nightly ritual)

3.  I shall begin and finish my first book during this year being 2012.

4.  I shall be the best person that I could ever be ….

5.  I shall continue to be a positive energy …. a beaming light …… a grateful human being to all my family and friends and to all that I encounter ….. whether two or four-legged (or perhaps one with a fin)……

6.  I shall remember to laugh each day.

7.  I shall smile for no apparent reason.

8.  That is all …. I was going to write ten things but have decided that seven is enough.

I hope that love, joy, laughter, abundance, perfect health and wealth rain down upon you this day and for the coming year.

May you treasure the moments with yourself and loved ones.

May you smile for no reason and laugh till it hurts.

May you continue to be the best you.

May all your yesterdays highlight your todays, and bring promise to tomorrow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ….. ONE AND ALL.

Special Hello to:  my family and friends who I could not have sustained any kind of “sanity” this past year….. details to follow in my book ……

Always, Carol
