COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Tuesday, July 25, 2017 and it is the 16th day until my 60th Birthday.

It is safe to say that I have a thing with food.

A love – dislike (cannot say hate) relationship.

I love food and it loves my belly.

Just a few things that I happen to snap photos of over the past few years.

I love to bake and most especially at Christmas time and for special Occasions.

Cookies, anyone?

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 23rd day of February, 2017.

Yesterday I woke up with a raging headache that knocked the socks right off of me.

I stayed home from work and slept virtually all day.

Finally headache is gone and I feel so much better.

***************************************************

Today belongs to two special women in my life.

The first being my one and only sister “C.”

My sister is an awesome Mother and Grandmother and Sister and Aunt.

We have been through life together.

Been single Moms together.

We have laughed and cried together.

Danced together.

Been mad at each other.

Travelled together.

Partied together.

But will, and have always been there for each other.

She is funny, smart, nice and cool, and I am grateful that she is my sister.

No matter how far we are apart; we are always together.

Happy Birthday my Darling …..

The other special woman that shares a birthday with my beloved sister is my dear friend, “D.”

We met about thirty-five years ago.

We were both single Moms at the time, and had so much in common.

She is the most fashionable person I know.

Not only does she dress crazy well but she can decorate like no one else I know.

Not only does she always look amazing but she is smart and funny as well.

Happy Birthday my Friend.

Happy Birthday Ladies and I hope that life continues to treat you with great regard.

Thank you for being a part of my life and of my heart.

These are for you both.

Flowers and Chocolate Macaroons.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 18th day of December, 2016.

Only 6 sleeps till Christmas Eve.

Last night from the time I was picked up for our Girl’s Christmas Out Christmas Supper, I noticed a change in the temperature.

This morning even the slight bit of breeze feels warmer.

So warmer temperatures are on the way.

We had a great time at a nearby restaurant for our First Annual Christmas Supper for one of my trio of friends.

They are the young ones (closer to my daughter’s age).

We shared stories and good food.

It was a wonderful evening out.

Today is my baking day.

I am baking a batch of my sugar cookies for one of the friend’s that I was out with last night.

She absolutely loves them and purchased all of the ingredients and I am making them for her.

After they are done I am going to whip up some fudge, chocolate macaroons and chocolate chip cookies.

Not multiple batches as previous years.

Just enough to give a bit away (my other friend of our trio “G” has a son that loves my fudge so he will get some) and some for us for Christmas and over the holidays.

After that I just have to put the finishing touches for the gifts for my kids and wrap them.

We are reusing things from around our homes.

No money has been spent.

Actually this is fun and I have enjoyed putting things together for them.

Definitely will be taking Mr. Alvin for a walk today ….. so thankful for the warmer temperatures.

Well time to get this show on the road.

I hope that you have a great Sunday and week ahead.

Need coffee ……. then time to clean off the counter and start mixing the dough for the cookies.

Then while it is chilling I can relax and sip on a mug of coffee before getting hard core into the baking.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to: my friends back in Regina ….. miss you gals and guys.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 7th day of December, 2014.

What a great weekend.

I did all of my baking.

Over 12 dozen sugar cookies – baked and iced.

Over 9.5 dozen unbaked chocolate macaroons – that is about 114 mounds of pure heaven.

2 – 9 x 13 pans of chocolate fudge and then a pie plate which translate to about 100 pieces of melt in your mouth – joy.

Over a grand total of 350 pieces of Christmas Baking …… that should go a long way.

I have a couple of cookies exchanges – family and friends visiting – some to give away …..

Check

Another item off of my list.

Just a few more cards to write up, some to mail and others to hand deliver.

GUESS WHAT the sun is coming up and shining brightly.

It will be a great day.

Alvin is looking out our bedroom/office window and barking at something …. I better scoot over and see what all of the hub bub is about.

Well almost time to go to work at the store.

Should be a fun day with holiday shoppers.

I hope that you had a great weekend whether checking off things on your to do lists or just plain taking it easy.

I did have a chance to watch/listen to some holiday shows yesterday while I was baking.

Have a great Sunday.

Special Hello to: all those holiday shoppers ….. remember to be patient and kind …… it goes a long way and in the end everyone is much happier.

Always, Carol and Alvin
