It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning All.

Well today is my first day of working from home.

We left work yesterday during early afternoon hours with laptops in tow.

I managed with a tinge of assistance from a co-worker on line to get set up.

I moved my office around and set up the laptop (which I have not really worked on before).

Set up the  mouse and I am so glad that I brought home my keyboard, that was a good move.

Thank you to a fellow coworker who had decided to take hers home.

It was so much easier setting things up.

My office looks strange with my APPLE on one end and the laptop on the other.

Shortly I will turn on the laptop and start the day ….. my work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Still almost one hour but I want to do my timesheet and have everything open before 8:00 AM.

Poor Mr. Alvin is definitely wondering what is going on.

I think he noticed that I did not put on much makeup other than some eyebrow gel stuff and some lip care.

I think he definitely noticed that I did not put on my dress clothes and I know he noticed that I put on my work socks.

I did that just to throw him off.

He is just so smart.

I am kind of anxious to see what happens when I am on the phone (work) …. we have been hooked up through an APP for our phone.

This should be interesting.

Alvin does not like it when I am on the phone.

Hopefully after the day he settles into me working from home.

Much different than a weekend.

Yesterday my daughter picked me up some fruit, vegetables and bread.

She also picked me up a bag of CHICAGO popcorn (one with the cheese and caramel popcorn).

This was a treat for me, how sweet of a girl do I have.

The streets are still busy here or at least they were yesterday.

Our street has had cars zipping by all morning.

I wonder if this will change.

Well I am anxious to go and get my coffee and get started.

It will be much different working on a laptop small screen compared to our big computer screen at work.

Likely a bit slower going back and forth between windows but at least we are working.

Our clients will be happy about that.

I think some of them figure that with the doors closed to the public that we are not working.

But we are ….. we certainly are ….

We are all in this together.

Well time to go and get things going.

Starting to get light out there.

Be kind and respectful to all you encounter.

Remember to check on your elderly neighbours and those that are not able to get out and about.

If someone has a pet and they are sick, help out.

Make sure they have food for their pets.

If they have a dog …. take the dog for a walk.

Help where you can.

Be grateful you are well and are able to do so.

From an eternally grateful human being,

I remain as Always, Carol with her trusty friend Alvin

My geranium is blooming like crazy.

Outside the bunnies are beginning to turn brown.

Spring is official tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that I saw a coyote downtown on my my to work yesterday morning.

My daughter says there are many of them downtown due to the River Valley being close by.

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and YAY today is Saturday.

It is bright outside but only due to the recent snowfall.

Sky is overcast but the sun is trying to punch through the clouds.

Alvin and his best friend Teddy are laying together side by side on the blue blanket.

What a joyous sight.

Once the photos stop downloading I will snap a couple of photos for my next post.

If there is time before they move.

Last night after work and we were done with Alvin eating etc., we went for a nice walk.

Once home I called Aunt J and she brought Master Teddy right over.

The boys were so excited to see each other.

Me, too.

Seems like forever since they have been here to visit.

Aunt J did not stay but to have a quick visit by the door.

I could tell in her eyes that she was exhausted.

It has been a horrible last couple of weeks for her with puppy KOBI and that terrible parasite.

I know that Teddy missed her last night but soon was okay just to settle in with his best friend.

Not long after Teddy arrived last night and moments before I was going to eat my supper, there was a knock at the door.

I opened the door to see one of the little boys from a couple of doors down the street.

He handed me a Valentines Card, a heart shaped red lollipop and two boxes of smarties.

One of the boxes of smarties had only red and pink smarties inside.

What a nice treat for after supper.

He is the most kind and generous of little boys.

He is quiet, sweet and so helpful.

He is the one that always wants to help.

He is polite and compassionate and has manners.

Can you imagine a little boy of “7” bringing a Valentine and treats to your door?

I am not 7 either.

He would not have been prompted by his parents either.

His parents did a great job with him.

The pups last night at bedtime.

Teddy was playing a game with the blanket.

This morning he was playing under the blanket (hide and seek) but the camera was downloading / uploading photos to the computer so I was unable to take photos.

Alvin was watching him.

Then he joined them.

Love these little guys.

I had a great evening.

My day was mixed.

I had planned to go for lunch with one of my clients.

We did but long story short it was not great ….. the coffee shop we went to had closed (how I had forgot, I will never know).

She with her walker.

Normally was not even a five minute walk but with her walker and recent injury, it took about 20 minutes or so.

My poor friend, I don’t know what I was thinking.

We ended up going to the 7-11 which had a little counter set up.

It was okay but not what I had imagined.

I felt terrible.

Not sure what I was thinking.

The Starbucks would have been closer even though we had to cross more streets and I guess there were a couple of small restaurants close to it.

Next time, I will have my poop in a group.

Also she slept in and did not hear when I phoned her at 10:00 a.m.

She missed the DATS bus when it arrived and caught a taxi which cost her a small fortune.

I called DATS (Disabled Adult Transit System, I think) from the 7-11 but they said would be a two hour wait but at first refused to pick her up.

I kept at them but finally the woman said two hours.

Way too long in the downtown 7-11 which had lots of people coming and going.

I could not leave her there by herself for two hours and I could not wait.

So I called a taxi.

I offered to pay but she said she could pay for it.

Unfortunately it was a costly lunch for her.

I paid for lunch although she wanted to ….

I had a little gift for her and remembered to give it to her when she was in the taxi.

Thankfully the taxi came within ten minutes of calling them.

I was thirty minutes late for work but my boss was forgiving.

It was nice to see my client but not what I imagined that it would be.

She in her grace said not to worry.

She was just happy to have a visit with me.

How lucky, how blessed am I.

Between this client, the little boy from a few doors down and the pups.

I am feeling so special.

Well time to get going.

Breakfast is late for me.

Pups ate earlier.

Alvin ate really early just before 5 a.m. and Teddy ate about thirty minutes ago.

I just would like a cup of coffee.

That will happen once I get the first load of laundry into the washer.

I am going to work on the photo project.

Going through my photos and deleting the duplicates etc.

Also I am going through my photo boxes and doing the same.

More the out of focus photos.

For some reason I have a problem throwing them away or deleting them.

So we will have a busy day.

In between we shall go for a walk.

Hopefully the sun will shine.

Wishing you an awesome Saturday.

With Kindness and Respect.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Teddy.

Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning,

YAY, today is Friday.

Always happy to see Friday as look forward to this day and the weekend.

Okay, a few days late.

Here are some photos.

I took the first five of the tree in front of my house while I was waiting for my ride in the morning.

The next four photos are of same tree but the next morning after the freshly fallen snow.

I love my tree.

It looks good fully clothed with leaves or with snow or even bare.

It is amazing how the snow just piles up on the branches with the underneath bare.

Handsome looking tree.

Government announced yesterday:

Affordable Housing.

They are going to streamline the information/process that is required for housing.

Making it easier for applicants, clients and in the end the staff.

Sounds like good news for everyone.

This weekend it is continuing with and finishing all of the Christmas Cards and letters.

Alvin needs a bath and I am debating as to whether or not I will give him a trim.

Will see.

My new wreath is being dropped off tonight.

I am submitting a STEEPED TEA order this evening.

Bit of shovelling to finish.

There is always the laundry and cleaning.

I want to look through the items that I have for gifts and see where I am at ….

Plan the baking …..

Make a list of those to have over for Christmas treats and visit before the big day.

Lots to do, always.

Well life continues to be interesting, amazing and full of surprises.

At this moment in time, I am happy, healthy and excited.

Starting the day with a SMILE is always a great thing.

Wishing you the best Friday ever.

Smiling.

Kindness

Respect

Three good words.

Always, Carol & Mr. Alvin

Mr. Alvin is laying on his pretty blue blanket.

He loves curling up on it while I type/key away on the computer.

Which reminds me that I must start deleting photos that are blurry, dark or duplicate from my computer.

Some should be printed or made into albums.

That should be a weekly project.

Spending a few hours every week working on the photos.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 28th day of July, 2018.

The sun is shining brightly and there remains a bit of coolness from the night air.

I have the windows open so that we can cool off the house.

It is already begin to warm up.

Today is to be a warm one and tomorrow even more so.

I love the weekends.

Time at home with Alvin.

Time to fuss with my flowers and garden.

Time to do things around the house.

Having your one house is wonderful.

I will admit that sometimes having everything to do myself – can be a bit much but at the end of the day – it is all worthwhile.

I LOVE my house.

We are preparing for our company.

Plans changed and everyone is staying here.

Have lots to do so that it is all done as they arrive Tuesday evening and I work Wednesday.

It will be great to see everyone.

Following the company will be my mini vacation with my daughter …. just a few days but I am so excited to get away.

Alvin has his regular Vet appointment for nails and such this morning.

Followed by a hair cut and bath by his Momma.

Laundry to finish.

Bedding.

Grass to cut.

The list is long but that is okay …. it will get done.

I have two days, I have the weekend.

Life is life.

Plans change.

I have found that much better to go with the flow than to stew too much.

Oh, do not get me wrong, I still can stew with the best of them.

But it is usually short lived.

Just like work.

I plan to get this and that done and ten minutes into it – I have a million phone calls, an unexpected meeting or unexpected clients arrive at the office and need to see me.

That is life.

Right.

Have an awesome day.

Just enjoying life.

I hope that you are as well.

Well time to fly.

Have an awesome Saturday.

Special Hello to: my sister – just three sleeps – the countdown is on.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 30th day of October, 2014.

One more sleep until Halloween and the last day of October 2014.

I have been trying to decide on a Halloween costume for the office.

I am working out front at the office seeing clients, and then from there going to work at the store.

So it has to be something easy that I can just change out of at lunch time.

I shall miss seeing all of the little ones coming to my house.

We shall see …… always time to change one’s mind.

Do you throw together something from your closet and house for a costume?

I think it is much more fun to throw something together …. put those creative juices to work.

Some news.

I found out from my neighbour that the yellow cat that has been showing up at our homes off and all for the past couple of months actually has a home a short distance away.  What a relief.  The cat has a name “Barney.”  That so suits him.  I had thought that “he” was a “she” but then again it was just a feeling as I thought that a male cat would not warm up to the dogs like it did but I was incorrect.  That is okay.  I am so thankful that the cat has a home.  Barney was a farm cat – a barn cat at that and likes to get out of the house from time to time.  Anyway we are all happy that we did not find a forever home for him or keep him only to find out that he had a home.  My neighbour even put a notice up on the computer.  Guess there was a reason.

Last night my daughter and I went to visit my nephew and her cousin.  He is now in the neurological unit.  Definitely seems to be improving although he has not come out of the coma yet.  When I mentioned his brother’s name he became very active. I will take that as good sign.  We will continue to be hopeful.

So on this Thursday I hope that life is treating you kindly, and that you are treating life with kindness.

Happy Thursday.

Special Hello to: my sister ……. will talk to you soon.

Always, Carol and Alvin
