Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 5th day of November, 2016.

I have to share something with all of you ….. nothing life threatening.

This morning as we are getting ready to make a visit to the Vet (just routine).

I had pulled the blinds up as per usual so that when Alvin sits on the bed he can see out the window.

All of a sudden it went from darkness with only the light of the street lamps to this clearness.

I had not experienced this as it happened.

But with the rise of the sun it gave a glow that was so beautiful it gave me pause to stop and admire.

I looked out of the window to the east and just sighed.

We are so lucky to have sunrises and sunsets.

 

The sheer magnificence is breathtaking.

What a great way to start your day.

Well just a few minutes until we have to leave.

We are so lucky that our Vet is within a quick walk from our house.

Lucky Alvin and lucky Momma, for sure.

They are awesome and just like family.

I have decided to have breakfast when we get back as I was able to get some extra sleep after Alvin’s breakfast (he is such an early bird).

Tomorrow or rather about 2:00 a.m. tonight our clocks go back one hour.

YAY.

Well I should go as Alvin has to go outside.

Another thing to share ….. our ChRiStMaS Tree went up last night.

Also was able to decorate most of the main floor except the upstairs bannister and a bit of tweaking here and there.

I love this time of year.

How about decorating outside today in plus 15 degree temperatures.

Gotta love Edmonton.

Thought for the day …..

Good Afternoon and Welcome to Sunday the 13th day of March, 2016.

Well would you not be surprised that the time changed in the middle of the night and guess who realized it at 8:08 but it was really 9:08 a.m.??

ME.

I should have remembered to change the clocks last night before bed but alas I did not.

Oh well … no harm done.

I did have a coffee date with friends and was only a few minutes late.

Changing clocks twice a year sometimes is a pain but it works out in the end.

This time we change our clocks ahead so we lose one hour …. but we have light longer which is nice.

This morning it was raining snow …. you know that mix …..

March is one of those months that the weather is most unpredictable.

One of my friends said that the forecast is for 9 degrees today ….. the sun finally came out so you never know.

We had a great visit …. always nice to connect with the ladies.

Catch up.

 

Now I just received a phone call from my friend who lives in Regina and has been in Edmonton for the past week.

Her new grandson is in the Children’s Hospital here ….. so she is here to help with the older grandson.

She asked me out for supper ….. we were meant to go last Sunday but long story short …. she got lost coming to my hospital so it was late.

 

The tea party was a success yesterday with a few things left to finish and then I can submit the party.

My daughter’s birthday party was great ….. the make it yourself “TACO SALAD” turned out so good and the CHOCOLATE from SCRATCH cake was super good. (Nice and Moist).

I love seeing my family ….. my daughter, son-in-law and grand-puppies, Elton and Miss Penny.

Our poor Penny has her good days and bad ….. I miss her exuberance.

But she is 11 and Elton is 13 …..

Our babies ….

 

I have to get in touch with my sister as we were to SKYPE tonight ……

 

Life is busy but good …..

We treasure our time with family and friends ….

Always remember no matter what is going on with your life ….. treasure those moments ….. those times when you are with family ….. when you see old friends.

That exact moment is that exact moment and will not be repeated.

Take it for that special moment that it is ……

 

Well I had better get this show on the road as I have a few chores to do with one being to go for a walk with Alvin.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 16th day of October, 2015.

YAY, it is another beautiful morning here in Edmonton.

I am really certain that Mr. Alvin thinks it is time to turn the clocks back.

I guess I will be ready for that as he has been waking me up at 3:00 a.m. the past few mornings.

What can you do?

I mean we do not get up then I do manage to get him to lay back down for a little bit …..

What a guy.

So excited for this weekend.

Tomorrow is my Open House for Steeped Tea and looks like there will be lots of people attending followed by dinner and a movie with my pals from BBW.

So excited.

So much in one day ….

Mr. Alvin is going to his sister’s for a sleepover so he will miss all of the company but better he be with his sister.

He would be so excited ……

I am so grateful to have this life …. to be living and breathing and breathing and living my life.

So on this Friday be grateful …..

Somedays we lose it ….. I mean we might yell and scream ….. a good release of stress.

Then we just get back to living our lives.

We are so blessed.

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 5th day of March, 2015.

Happy Birthday to my Aunt “L.”

Wishing you a great day Aunt.

She lives on Vancouver Island where the spring flowers are already blooming.

Ah, how lucky is she.

 

Well on Sunday our clocks go ahead one hour so that is a sure fired sign of spring.

The weather over the next week looks like single digit plus degrees so that is good.

I have not seen any rabbits so not sure if they are beginning to change colour or not.

How cool is Mother Nature?

I always think it is amazing that some animals actual change the colour of their fur between the seasons.

Soon the leaves will begin to bud on the trees.

I love the smell of spring.

 

Working at the store tonight.

I wonder who I shall meet this evening.

There are always interesting people that come into the store.

They come from all over the world.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 24th day of October, 2014.

Dark outside ….. it does take awhile to get used to waking up to that …..

This is our reality for the next few months.

Shorter days …… longer nights.

I like the longer night part ….

Soon our clocks will be changed back one hour.

I always get a kick out of Alvin ……. because now we get up at 5:00 …… once the change happens it will be 4:00.

It does throw us off …..

Why is it that change plays such havoc with all of us living breathing beings.

Personally myself I do enjoy change …… preferably in small doses.

But change means growth.

Sometimes you just have to run with it and see where you can go.

I have had massive change in my life over the past about 7 years ….

Some of it was great and some not so.

But I did grow and learn and that is good.

So on this Friday ….

Be okay with change ….. sometimes it does take getting used to a new norm.

After all ….. whatever becomes routine is the new norm.

Well time to go to work.

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 16th day of September 2013.

I can hardly believe it …. over half way done the month of September.

Crazy …..

 

So how did you do yesterday with your “random act of kindness?”

What did you do?

I was working at the store yesterday so I took a couple of  coupons that I had received when I had made purchases at the store and randomly gave them to people.

One was a young girl and she kept coming back to where I was at the store and saying thank you and that she couldn’t decide what to choose as her free item (it was one of those coupons spend X amount and receive free item up to X amount.

The other was an older couple who had come by specially to pick up an item that we were still sold out of so the coupon helped with the bad news.

I had a great day at work and love to work at Bath & Body Works.

 

Well have to go to the office early …. morning came extra early as the power went out last night at 9:10 and then I could not sleep.

At almost midnight I saw that the power was on so went and reset all the clocks and turned the television off (thought that I did when the lights went out, LOL).

So have a great day.

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday, the 11th day of March, 2013.

Well today is the first day back to work after the time change.

My poor body thinks it is 5:22 not 6:22 a.m.

It always takes about a week to get used to the change although I am not sure if one ever gets used to setting the clocks ahead and behind.

Alvin just started to get used to the change from last fall when we fell back one hour.

Now he is really confused.  This morning he slept until the alarm went off which oddly enough would have been the time he used to wake up (4:00 a.m.) …. oh well.

It is all good ……

I do however love having it light earlier and having it light later now.

We had a lovely day here in Edmonton yesterday …. sun shone…. birds chirped ….. had an early birthday party for my darling daughter …..

This morning it is WINDY.  Now that is a good thing as it will speed up the drying process.

I hope that you all had a great weekend.

So even though it feels like 5:30 …. that is okay ……

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning All and welcome to Thursday, October 11th, 2012.

It is about 6:30 a.m. here in Edmonton ….. dependent on which clock I look at.

Wouldn’t it be nice if every clock retained the same time …..

My clocks range from 12 minutes slow to 6 minutes fast….. so depending on the mood or day of the week …… it’s all good.  LOL

What can you do?  I have tried ….. but at the end of the day …. the watch on my wrist has the time I need to go by.

I change it to the clocks at my two jobs.

So it all works out.

 

So did you get snow where you are?

It was wet and heavy but only a bit stayed behind to frame up the roof tops and bedazzle the lawns.

It was relatively warm out last night when Alvin and I went for a walk …. the breeze was a bit cool but great for this time of year.

I do wish that it would stay dry and warm for Halloween.

So much nicer for the little ones and us “old ones” …..

 

I was thinking this morning as I signed onto my blog …..  “My New Life @ 51” ……. that was 4 years ago when I retired for the first time.

So should I change the name of my blog to “Freedom @ 55” …… or “Wishes to be Freedom 55” ….. I do not know.

Anyway I love to write every morning and love that you read my stuff.
