The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! I hope this find you doing great. Not sure what our weather is doing. Appears to be a mixture of sunshine, clouds, rain and wind for the weekend. All is well with our company. Alvin woke up a bit earlier than what he has been the past few days but I would expect it is due to the change in our household. They are getting along quite well. The odd growl here and there mostly from Georgie. He is about the same height as Alvin but about half the size. He can easily sit upon my lap and he is doing so right now. In fact, when we were sitting on the sofa last night he was right up there. I am so grateful that Alvin does not get jealous when other pups sit on my lap. I found that Georgie loves Alvin’s wet food and by the way, not one dog that I have come across does not like it. Likely because it costs $5 per can. Just like the humans, always going for the most expensive. Anyway, all is good. As long as everyone is happy, I am happy. After having breakfast at 6:00, we laid back down on the sofa till 8:00 which was nice. Cute story, just after they arrived later yesterday afternoon, I was getting instructions from Georgie’s Mom when we noticed he was in the kitchen, he lifted his leg and peed right smack on the end of the IKEA shelving unit that is laying on it’s side (which is my flower stand etc). I just smiled and said “it is okay” as I grabbed some paper towels and the puppy cleaner solution. What is a little pee anyway, that was the last time in the house, thank goodness. He was just marking his place. I ended up putting his food / water dishes stand on a little mat covering the area with hopes he won’t do it again. So far so good. He has market his place on two of my flower pots on the deck so of course, I cleaned them as well. What a guy! He is well behaved and listens pretty good and loves me right beside me, just like Mr. Alvin. We went for a walk after an early supper and it was still pretty warm so we only go just inside the park when the boys turned around for home. Even with a drink or two of water (I always carry water for pups) they were hot. Home we went. Georgie took the lead just as we approached our house and walked right up the sidewalk, he found it all by himself. I better get them downstairs in case someone has to pee or poo. We will have to get out for a walk before it starts to rain this afternoon.

Enjoy your Saturday.

My plans are to do laundry, clean the garage, take the pups to the park for a walk and hopefully get to the grocery store. The girls are coming for coffee tomorrow morning and unless I get very creative I am not sure what I can make unless it is eggs and biscuits. I don’t have any fruit. Cannot even bake banana muffins.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Georgie.

P.S. I shall post photos in tomorrow’s post. The garage is getting close to be ready for the sale on weekend of the 25th of June. Today is 59 days till my 65th Birthday.

2021

Good Morning ALL! How are you doing on this Wednesday morning? It is overcast with clear skies on the far horizon. It has been raining off and on and cloudy for much of the past three days. This is June. We certainly need the moisture so the rain has been good. Overcast and cloudy with no rain. Could do without. Yesterday Teddy spent the day with us. We had a nice walk the three of us at noon. It was great having Teddy with us. I know that Alvin loves having his best friend in the house.

I am feeling this morning lost in a sea of confusion. One minute things were going great and the next minute I have no idea what to do next? I thought the roofing company that we had approached for a quote knowing that they had done a couple of houses in the neighbourhood, one of them being for friends that they would be the best to go with but apparently that may not be so. We have had nothing but questions and inconsistencies from the get go. Why is that? Is it because I am an older woman? Perhaps that has nothing to do it the situation but I am feeling really disappointed at this time. Just when I thought things we had things sorted out there are more questions and then my neighbours in the other half have decided that there were too many inconsistencies and they have decided not to have theirs done by this company. So now what? Do I continue on my own or do I start looking for companies and get quotes? I am lost? Afraid? Nervous? I am not afraid to say these things. I so badly wanted to get those crappy shingles off my roof and replaced with good ones that were to have a 50 year warranty. Perhaps that was wishful thinking, I do not know. I am emotional at this moment. Last night I googled the master contractor Mike Holmes and he had a list of what to do and what to look for in a roofing contractor so I guess I will start at the beginning and figure it out. Perhaps I am over my head doing something that I have no idea about. At this point I have not contacted the roofer as I am not 100% sure of what to do next. I think that I will have my neighbours contact this company and advise that they no longer wish them to do their shingles. Likely better them than me. Besides I still am not quite sure what to do. Am I babbling. I tend to when I am not sure what to do. I was so sure this company was good but there are more questions than answers at this point. I badly need some coffee this morning as I cannot get things out of my head.

Okay time to head back downstairs and get that coffee brewing. I hope that you have an amazing day.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love and gratitude.

Always, Love Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Well it is Saturday July 6th, 2019.

Almost one week into July already …. WOW.

Another rainy day although at the moment it is only overcast.

We have been managing to get walks in around the rain for the most part.

Last night we started our walk after work in a light rain, then it stopped and when we were almost home, the rain came down.

We were wet upon arriving home.

So lucky to have seen the multiple families of geese by our park.

The babies are no longer babies.

**********************

I am so happy that you love my new office wall colour.

I love it so much.

Now for the hard part …. how to place things and what to bring into the office.

So my mind has been swirling with ideas.

Some easy but all time consuming.

So I will get my plan in place before I jump into things.

The colour is amazing.

So brilliant and GREEN.

I love GREEN.

Makes me feel so ALIVE and gives me an all around good feeling.

The office desks are a deep rich brown almost black, perhaps like an expresso colour and my book cases are about that same colour.

They play well off of the vibrant green on the walls.

I love how the green changes in different light.

I have also decided to paint this green on a feature wall in the living room.

All of my main furniture in the living room is rich tones of browns except for a chair that is same green palate with brown.

My accents will match perfectly.

Can you imagine how well the Christmas tree will pop in that room?

WOW, wow, wow.

So happy.

Well as it was a busy week filled with things other than laundry and house cleaning – time to get at it.

I always find it so strange that I can tell myself when going to bed – that I would like to get up at a specific time and that is the time I wake up.

Last night I thought 7:00 a.m. would be a good time and that was the time that I woke up.

Also noting that Alvin wanted to go downstairs at 3:22 a.m. but that is, his clock not mine.

We did go downstairs at that time and afterward hit the sofa until I woke up at 7:00 a.m.

Our thoughts can literally bring about anything.

Well on that note it is time to fly.

I can see laundry, cleaning and a walk in our future.

Also checking on our friend’s flowers …. although they will not require watering today.

Happy Happy Saturday.

Enjoy your day.

Reminder to ourselves to be KIND and RESPECTFUL.

I know that sometimes there are people who throw us off being kind and respectful …

But find your way back.

It’s okay.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. longing for some sunshine but I heard a rumour that we are to have very hot temperatures this summer ….. time will tell.

I

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 22nd day of September, 2017.

Stopped raining but overcast as do not see stars.

Today is the FIRST official day of FALL/AUTUMN.

Happiness.

I love this time of year.

Once the rain stops ….. we will have a chance to see how many leaves have turned colour and how many are actually left on the trees.

Reminder to self:

It is my thoughts that create the atmosphere within me.

It is not what is happening around me.

Keeping my thoughts in a positive, wellness pattern.

To keep my atmosphere bright and joyful for both myself and those around me.

Happy Friday.

Gotta run.

Alvin would like to go outside again.

Cannot blame the little guy.

Special Hello to: my kids who continue to shine a bright light on the world.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 28th day of June, 2017.

Well another interesting evening ….. cloudy …. raining …. windy ….. cleared up ….. cooled down …. quite the mix.

One day 30 degrees the next 17.

I am so grateful that I took this opportunity to do some extra writing about my upcoming 60th Birthday.

Looking back and forward.

Lots to think about and lots to try and remember.

I still cannot believe that I am going to be 6-0, honestly where has the time gone?

Well I am running late as Mr. Alvin was up at 10:23 and then again at 3:30 p.m. – this is playing havoc with my sleep to say the least.

Raining this morning and very windy.  Not likely an umbrella is going to do much good.

I hope that you all have an amazing Wednesday.

Sometimes our patience is tried and we must always work at keeping it in check.

I had such a time last night and early this morning.

Have a great day.

Gotta run.

Special Hello to:  YOU

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 14th day of June, 2017.

Overcast now and was raining earlier.

I was “putting on the face” a few minutes ago and hear these voices and then they broke into song.

I realized that it was Sir Elton John and James Corden.

You see last night before I went to bed I had been watching a couple of the Karaoke Carpool with James Corden and his Special Guests.

I always turn on the computer before I start getting ready so that I can just sit down and write my blog without having to wait for the computer to start up.

Anyway nothing like hearing “Your Song” first thing in the morning.

Great way to start the day and I am grateful.

I will say this James Corden is my new favourite guy.

He is funny, smart, can sing, is compassionate and caring.

If you have not watched his Carpool Karaoke Videos – you must.

He has interviewed and sung with some of the greats:  Adele, Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder,Ed Sheeran, Lady GAGA, and the list goes on …….

Anyway it is getting onto time to leave for work.

I was so happy to hear some music before leaving the house as usual it is quiet except for the odd thud as Alvin jumps off the bed onto the rug below or the odd bark …..

Happy Dancing …… I am Happy Dancing.

Have an Awesome Wednesday.

Even though the skies are grey – they are clear to me.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello to: my friends back in Regina …… always thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Special Hello to:

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 8th day of June, 2017.

The sun is shining although there are some deep blue clouds above my house and over.

No forecast for rain until tomorrow.

Another hot one today.

Thank goodness for A/C at work and at home.

We enjoyed another walk last night with our friends “S” and Presley.

This warm sunny weather has been good for my plants/flowers as they are growing so much.

I am excited to see them all bloom.

Also I noticed that the roses are budding so just a few days and there will be beautiful pink flowers lining my walk to the park entrance and on part of the way to the bus.

The fragrance is amazing and tickles one’s nose in the most delicate way as it makes it way up into your brain.

Love, love, love wild roses.

I am a flower girl …. person ….. woman.

I love all flowers.

The colours and the different fragrances.

I would love to have my deck totally covered in flowers of every shape and colour.

I guess we would have to have a path to walk ….. so that Alvin would get to his grassy patch ….

But you know what I mean.

Perhaps visualization may help …..

Something to do on the bus ride to work.

Well time to get this load on the road.

Okay perhaps that may be a bit too vulgar …. I apologize.

Time to get this show on the road.

Better, right.

Hope you are smiling …. just a bit …… I can see your mouth curling up at the ends…..

Thank you for the smiles.

It is a good luck on you.

Happy Thursday.

Special Hello to: my friend “V” who is taking on another venture ….. congratulations and good luck on your product launch. I will be there in spirit.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 7th day of May, 2017.

Well looks like today may not be quite as beautiful as yesterday …. cloudy this morning but the sun is peeking through in spots.

Yesterday was amazing.  Nice and warm.

I do not know what the temperature was but Alvin and I enjoyed hours outside.

I washed/hosed down the front, side and back of the house – as far as the hose would reach.

I washed/hosed down the deck – carefully getting into all the little spaces.

I brought out the patio furniture and washed it down before bringing out the cushions and putting it all in order.

Now just need some pretty flowers.

Also cleaned out the garage.

Started by folding up all the Steeped Tea cardboard boxes.

I had a lot of them.

Reorganize, rearranged, and then swept the floor.

Looks like a new place.

Lots of garbage for Tuesday morning.

In between did several loads of laundry and vacuumed.

Felt like I accomplished a lot.

After supper we went for a walk and not far away from home bumped into one of my guy neighbours with his dog “Jersey.”

Jersey is part bull-dog and I do not remember the rest but she is so cute and Alvin likes her.

They were on their way to the park.

He had a remote control truck with him ….. said that Jersey liked to chase after it at the park.

They usually go to the little area in between the lakes that is closed off except for the opening.

So quite enclosed.

He asked if we would like to go with him, so we did.

Ended up some kids were playing soccer in the little area so we stayed to the side which was away from the streets on both ends.

So cute watching Jersey chase after the truck.

You could tell she loved to catch the truck.

After a few minutes the battery died on the truck.

“J” said that he does not leave it fully charged as Jersey can not catch it.

He asked if we wanted to do the loop around the lake and “we” said yes.

I though that it was dry but apparently not as my shoes were soaked by the time we reached the sidewalk on the other side.

Oh, well.

Thank goodness I did not have my good ones on.

We bumped into friends along the way.

Such a great walk.

Nice to have conversation with a guy …..

Different perspective and all.

Great to have good neighbours.

After I got home I decided to bake some cookies.

Then we watched “Deepwater Horizon” ….. got to rent it for only $1.00.

Based on a true story from 2010.

Perfect ending to a great day.

Did I tell you that it rained all night?

Or for several hours anyway.

The grass out front looks more green this morning.

Well time to get dressed …. feeling lazy.

I was going to go out and do “my community service” and clean up the trash in my neighbourhood but ….. with the rain last night, I do not wish to pick up wet stuff.

It gets too heavy for me to carry.

I know that there is lots to pick up but I would rather it was dry.

Perhaps if it warms up and the sun goes out maybe this afternoon.

But my daughter may drop by for a visit this afternoon and she trumps everything.

I love time with my girl.

Well did I say time to get dressed, yes, I did.

I hope that you all had a great and productive and relaxing weekend thus far.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to my friends all over the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 23rd day of August, 2016.

It is dark, cloudy, raining, windy and COLD outside this morning as I peer out of my office window.

I am so grateful as I received a phone call a few minutes ago from my neighbour asking if I would like a ride to work this morning.

She had looked outside and did not wish me to have to walk to the bus in the wind and rain and cold.

Am I not the luckiest woman?

I am, I am.

She even turned on her furnace this morning as it was too cold for Cinder, her pet gecko.

Also she just adopted a cat over the weekend and his name is Mitchell.

Well Mitchell to our neighbourhood.

Alvin did introduce himself through the window.

We were going for a walk and Mitchell was sitting on the living room window ledge.

Brr, it is cool here in…..

Alvin will be fine ( it is 70 celsius so not too bad ).

Today was/is a sock in the shoes day and long pants and sweater.

The cold damp air just goes through to your bones.

Time to bundle up.

Yikes, did I really say that?

Well here we go almost time to leave.

I need to take Alvin out again.

He does not spend much time outside when it is raining.

Sometimes if it is raining / well pouring he needs me to haul out my big umbrella and go outside with him.

He’s my boy – I do that for him.

I hope that everyone has a great day.

May your day be filled with love and laughter.

Lots of laughter.

Take care.

Spread the laughter……

Special Hello to: all those folks who open their doors and bring in homeless animals.  Thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 22nd day of August, 2016.

Sure cooled down overnight.

It appears to have rained by the look of the deck.

The next couple of days are to be cooler and then warming up again.

Looks like today will be a jacket day for sure.

We slept in this morning as I set the alarm incorrectly.

When changing my room around I did not set it for morning.

Alas my Alvin came to the rescue and woke me up in time.

We are doing things out of order but will get them done and off to work on time.

Today my blog is short.

Just a thank you to Alvin for waking me up in time.

Have a great day.

Hope you have the perfect start to your day.

Special Hello to: my friends all over the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin
