Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning and it is Monday, the 23rd day of December 2019.

Can you believe it?

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve.

The house is quiet this morning with only Mr. Alvin sighing and Humphrey resting downstairs.

Quite the change from yesterday about this time.

We had a great day yesterday and both Alvin and I were ready for bed last night early.

Humphrey went home earlier last night than I had planned as he was at the front door, clearly wanting to go home.

I went over and picked him up already, looked after Cynder, shovelled the front walks including some of the neighbours.

I threw my coat over top of my pj’s went I went to pick up Humphrey and feed Cynder.

It was kind of freeing to be outside in my pj’s covered by my coat.

Anyway.

I hear Mr. Humphrey came upstairs to join us.

I wanted to share some photos ….. let us try this once again.

Then I need some breakfast and COFFEE.

Then charging ahead with this day.

PHOTOS:

First ones were of the puppies and Humphrey taken yesterday.

Thankfully it was mild out so we went into the backyard often.

Teddy found himself a getaway spot on top of the sofa.

GIFTS all wrapped for all of our fur babies:  Alvin, Aspen, Milo, Humphrey, Teddy and Kobi.

The office shots were from our tour of our newly renovated office.

That will be my workspace.

Yup, just a table.

Desks are a thing of the past.

Where do I put my coat?

I did not see anywhere for our coats.

Next was the highly anticipated parcel from our friend in Regina.

Alvin “did not keep his paws off till Christmas”

He even tried to open my gift and since then it is on the table until time for opening.

The baking was also in the parcel and the bag of pretzels, nuts and other goodies was made by one of my coworkers and since I loved it so much, she brought me my

very own bag.

Well the guys are getting restless and I am hungry after my workout shovelling.

Time for breakfast and start some more laundry.

Perhaps I should think about getting dressed soon.

but then not I think not.

Well another casualty …. Humphrey was playing with a hanging that I had on the closet door.

He pulled so hard it came off the door and broke.

ARGH.

Time to go now.

I hope that you all have an awesome Monday.

Almost Christmas now.

Happy Monday.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Humphrey

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 24th day of September, 2014.

Wow, here we are the second day into fall …… I am in love.

I love the colours of the leaves on the trees.

All of the oranges, reds and yellows.

I love watching the geese gathering in their “V” formations.

It is like they practice all summer long for that big day.

Some of the geese stay here for the winter but most I believe still fly south.

I love cutting the grass for the last time.

I love the smell that only fall brings to the air.

I love watching Alvin’s coat thicken …. if that is possible …. as it is already very thick.

I love cleaning out the plant pots, putting things away…..

I love cleaning out the closets and bringing out fall/winter clothing and outerwear.

I just simply love everything about fall …..

I love watching the bunnies each week their coats gradually changing from brown to white.

I love the changes in nature.

I am starting to adjust to the darkness, and do not feel as tired in the morning.

I love fall……

Special Hello to: all those who love this beautiful season.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 12th day of September, 2014.

WOW, ’tis Friday …… weekend.

I think it is going to be a great weekend.

Starting off with coffee with my friend “G” at her house.

Followed by laundry, cleaning up both indoors and outdoors.

Time to pull the annuals and reorganize the garage to put away the pots and patio furniture.

I love seeing the deck bare …. it just has that look, you know.

I love seeing spring and the patio furniture and the flowers once again.

But for now will concentrate on the present time.

It is almost officially fall …..

We are so lucky most of the trees in our neighbourhood are still very much green.

Despite the harsh frost we had a couple of nights ago.

Anyway, I love that slight coolness to the air …..

Walks are more enjoyable …..

Oh and time to start putting away summer clothing and bring out fall/winter.

Check to see if you have mittens, scarves, boots and coats.

I need to go shopping soon for new winter boots.

I have some that will work for now but really would like new ones.

Well almost time to head out the door ….

I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all those people who are getting ready for the change in seasons.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 28th day of April, 2014.

Well as I write these words and look out of the window the sky is mainly overcast.

There is rain in the forecast but sunshine is on the way.

I love this time of year because it gets light early even when we do not see the brightly coloured sunrise.

Soon we can don our summer wear ….. capris and shorts ….. short sleeved tops and light sweaters …. and SANDALS.

Ooh, my feet an breathe again ….. fresh air…..

I guess it is time to finish putting away my winter gear.

I had packed away most of the coats, boots and mittens and such.

But had left a winter coat, one pair of boots and some mitts ….. because we did have a cold snap.

I will be pulling out that big blue rubbermaid and washing my summer clothing ……

So nice to start wearing bright and light clothing.

I would like to get some summer dresses this year.

I noticed at THE GAP they had some beautiful dresses.

So perhaps I will pick one up……

Also another great thing about spring…summer is the birds.

I love to watch the robins, hummingbirds, bluebirds and such.

So pretty and lovely.

I have a bird house in my backyard and although they start to build the nest the birds never seem to stay.

Not sure why.

We do have an abundance of ravens and crows.

I think they bully the smaller birds and chase them away.

I think ravens and crows have a place in the grand scheme of things but sure wish they would not chase the smaller birds.

Oh well, maybe this summer I will have a family of birds nesting in my backyard.

That would be grand.

Well better hop to it and finish getting ready as it is my early start at work today.

I hope that you have a great day.

Thank you again for reading my words it means the world to me.

Special Hello to: my friend Val …. a great baker and friend.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 15th day of September 2013.

How are you this Sunday?

Are you ready to begin an adventure?

Are you ready to try something new?

Are you ready to be better?

Are you ready to have faith?

Are you ready to smile at someone that you have not been introduced to?

Are you ready to give something to someone unexpectedly?

Are you ready to live your life like you have never lived it before?

Well today is the day!

Let’s get out there and truly live our lives?

Be the best person you can be?

Do the best at every thing that comes your way.

Take a chance.

Be brave …..

Send an email or make a phone call to someone you haven’t been in contact for awhile.

GO out into your neighbourhood or to a park and pick up any miscellaneous trash.

Swing by a senior’s home and check with reception and see who has not had a visitor recently and drop by.

Take a cup of coffee to a friend.

Go to a hospital and see about volunteering.

Go to an animal shelter and see about volunteering.

Go through your closet and give clothing, coats, shoes that you no longer need to a goodwill centre or a shelter.

Maybe start a coat drive before winter starts to give to those less fortunate.

Volunteer at a school or church.

Just simply do something nice for someone.

It doesn’t take a million dollars to make a difference to someone –  just a bit of time.

We can all make a difference…..

DO ONE RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS TODAY.

Let us start a revolution of KINDNESS and UNDERSTANDING … of MAKING A DIFFERENCE and of HELPING OUR FELLOW MAN.

Let us be kind to all living creatures big and small.

I hope that you will come on this journey with me.

Let me know how you are and what you are doing to make a difference.

Special Hello today to all those people who constantly make a difference in the lives of others.

Always and Forever, Carol and Alvin
