Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 25th day of April, 2019.

Another glorious sunrise.

Oh, how I love the morning sky.

I also love my companion, my boy, my friend Alvin.

He is snuggled up on the blue blanket which is made extra soft by the green lap blanket that my Grandmother crocheted many years ago.

I was thinking as I was putting on my jewellery how blessed I am to have found Alvin.

Of course, like any relationship on the planet there are moments that my patience may be stretched just a tad but for the  most part we are like two peas in a pod.

More alike than not.

He has shown me that life goes on.

He has shown me forgiveness.

He has shown me sheer delight in just going out for a walk and being more in touch with nature.

He makes me feel like a million dollars every time that I open the front door.

Always excited to see me.

He has shown me that you can get VERY excited about food.

He never ceases to amaze me.

He has shown me that no matter your age you can always make a new friend.

Case in point ….. Humphrey the Cat.

He shows me all the time with his friend Teddy – how important it is to have friends.

So on this Thursday, I salute my four-legged crazy, loving, social butterfly Mr. Alvin …. Cheers my great friend.

I am so grateful to my kids for finding him for me and me for him.

Alvin, one of my babies

Posting this just because “ALVIN” is so cute here….

Me and Alvin

Ah, Mama’s boy…….isn’t he cute!!!

Feeling mighty blessed this bright sunshiny day.

Happy Thursday Mr. Alvin.

I hope that you all have a “Mr. Alvin” in your life.

He brings me great joy, companionship and curiosity.

Love you my boy.

Special Hello to:  Mr. Alvin ….

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 13th day of January, 2018.

Today is the Birthday of my youngest brother, the baby of our family.

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday “T” …… Wishing you the most wonderful day.

Back at the “ranch” here in Edmonton it is softly snowing so I guess that means it has warmed overnight.

When Alvin and I were up at Midnight, 4:00 a.m. and 5:22 a.m. it was not snowing.

We have an errand to run today and I was hoping to take Alvin with me as he needs some food.

We also need to walk.

He is going a bit off his nut (British saying).

So as long as it is not bitterly cold we are WALKING.

Also need some things at the grocery store …. will see when I can get there.

I love watching the snow …. looks like a SNOW GLOBE.

The sky is white …. looks gloomy but wonderful.

Perhaps when we get out for some exercise (mostly Alvin), he will sleep better and also will not wish to go outside every five minutes.

Which it has been cold and he only stays outside for a few seconds, literally.

I think he just wants to interrupt me from whatever I am doing.

Oh well, he’s my boy and that is okay.

That bit of up and down, up and up is okay for me, it is more exercise.

When it is COLD and BITTERLY COLD, we all just want to EAT, WATCH TV cuddling under a cozy blanket and SLEEP.

So happy it is warming up.

Oh, last night I submitted another tea order, grateful for the orders and my customers.

Our new catalogue comes out this week and I am excited to see all of the new items.

Will be time to order the new ones.

I wanted to share on of the notes from Mike Dooley’s NOTES from the UNIVERSE book:

“Sometimes, when it seems

your wings have suddenly and

unexpectedly been clipped, maybe

just maybe, there’s more to learn by

staying where you are.

Maybe not.

You decide.”

This seemed to be so appropriate as of late and gave me comfort in my thoughts that yes, stay where you are.

Does not mean that I have been thinking of moving from my house, not that.

Somedays you just see or read something that seems to give you permission or the feeling that your decision was correct.

Perhaps this will strike a cord with you, maybe or maybe not.

But watch for signs.

If you ask the questions, generally speaking the answer will appear.

Whether from your gut or somewhere outside of you.

Time to go and put on some COFFEE and have BREAKFAST.

Have an awesome Saturday.

Be well, safe and warm.

Special Hello to: my little brother, Happy Birthday Buddy.  We love you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 24th day of February, 2014.

I hope you are feeling fantastic this morning.

The moon was shining brightly in the early morning sky upon my rising from the warmth and comfort of my bed.

I love the moon and the stars.

I love looking up and letting my imagination run wild.

Do you imagine?

Imagining plays a huge role in dreaming – in your dreams.

Sometimes we lose our imaginations as we grow old because we get stuck in the “adult” responsibilities and think that there is no place for “imagination.”

But that is not true.

We all need our imaginations to make better our lives.

So place pretend ….. use your imagination to realize your dreams.

PLAY AWAY.

I hope that your day is fun and that you receive unexpected great news.

Thank you.

Special Hello to: all those adults who still use their imaginations.

Always, Carol and Alvin  ….. (oh, I miss my little guy who spent the night at his sister’s house) …..

Thought for the day…..

Good Afternoon and Welcome to Sunday the 7th day of July, 2013.

Wow, it is afternoon already and the last day of my vacation – back to work tomorrow.

Alvin and I sat outside on our deck and enjoyed the morning.

I drank a cup of coffee, and he curled up beside me on our patio sofa.

The sun shining one minute and behind cloud cover the next.

The coolness of the breeze placed a veil of comfort upon my face.

I closed my eyes and escaped to a faraway locale.

The sun comes out and the warmth brings me back home.

What a glorious thirty minutes I had on my deck with Mr. Alvin this morning.

I felt relaxed and calm and so appreciative of the time and space surrounding us.

Take those precious moments and enjoy.

I hope that you are having a glorious Sunday as am I.

Take care and will be back bright and early tomorrow morning ……

Special Hello to:  “daydreamers” ….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Well here we are at Wednesday – March 21st, 2012.

We are officially in springtime.

I love spring.

The smell, the sounds …..

The whole of it.

I remember when I was a little girl walking in the pasture (field) on the farm, and for as far as I could see it would be a sea of purple ….. crocuses.

They were from what I remember a furry flower, and I guess that helped them from freezing on those cold spring nights.

I truly loved seeing those flowers ….. they marked renewal for me …… a new beginning as I would imagine every spring.

I also remember that the snow would gradually melt and the smell of spring would linger in my senses for weeks.

Water would slowly run from the melting of the snow.

Sometimes on the farm there would be “dirty snow” remaining on the north side of the house until the beginning of July.

Now it seems that spring arrives ….. the temperature rises almost overnight and the snow melts …. almost overnight …

The grass is brown one day and green the next ….. trees bud, blossom and bloom……

Perhaps spring is only in my imagination and boosted a bit by the memory of a small girl.

But it is my memory and I shall treasure it forever.

I hope that you have wonderful memories to draw upon for comfort and entertainment.

Have a happy second day of spring.

Special Hello: to all those wee spring flowers carefully starting to break through the soil and the snow ….

Always, Carol and Mr. Alvin ….. ah, my Alvin….. I am so blessed….
