Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 4th day of February, 2017.

The sun is rising.

It is cold out but not snowing.

Looks like the perfect winter day.

My daughter just called.

She is bringing Mr. Alvin home this morning.

YAY.

Me Alvin is coming home.

Always good to see my daughter.

 

Don’t you always love the weekends?

Even thought they are usually jammed packed with things to do around the house, grocery shopping and the like …

But it is at home in your home with your peeps …. your loved ones.

Even though we may like our co-workers and our job …. there is nothing like “Home Sweet Home.”

Right?

I decided to get a jump on things and did a few items from my list last night so it will make my “to do list” a bit shorter.

More time to spend cuddling and playing with Mr. Alvin.

 

Just thoughts of gratitude this morning.

I truly feel blessed and grateful to have my own home, amazing family and friends, a job, good health and so much more.

Take a moment if you are feeling grateful and just SMILE.

Nothing like smiling to bring up your joy level.

I know on my way home from work when I am on the bus and all I really want to do is just get home and cannot wait …. I smile.

People might wonder …. so be it.

Smiling makes me feel good.

 

So smile today.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 7th day of December, 2016.

This is Day Three of the Big Deep Freeze and only 1  1/2 weeks to go ( not 100% certain about that but that is what they forecasted a couple of days ago).

One never seems to warm up when it is almost – 30 degrees celsius with the windchill.

Any wind just seems to pierce through your layers and ping against your skin.

But I am not complaining – just stating the facts.

We, I am so grateful for a beautiful November.

We did have some in October actually quite a lot and rain.

What a mix.

 

Last night when we were taking a few minutes watching a show before bed.

Alvin rested his head on my lap.

I was so touched.

He never does that …..

He looked so darn cute.

 

Well here it is time to start bundling up for the walk to the bus in the deep freeze.

Not so bad if you have good layers on ……

This morning I am pulling out the big guns …. big warms boots, big mitts … the ones that are good for these temperatures.

I am prepared.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 12th day of August, 2016.

Bright sunny morning with a cool breeze which is perfection in my books.

On Wednesday of this week when my daughter brought Mr. Alvin back home, she was helping me with something in my home office and then we ended up moving everything.

Now my desk and the computer are by the window so that I can look out …. the view is not spectacular as it is peoples houses and the back lane but it is a view nonetheless.

I can see a bit of green so that is nice.

Not quite high enough to see my back yard.

 

Well today is the last day of my vacation and then on Monday it is back to work.

It is has been a good vacation – time away from work – time at home.

I was able to purge some items from the house and garage which is excellent.

I feel so light.

There still are some things to go through but the majority of things to go are gone.

It is so worth it to take some time and go through closets, drawers, each room in your house and basement and the GARAGE.

We tend to collect things over the years that we seldom use or even look at …. that is the truth.

So time to clean / purge and be light.

 

Well I am attending a luncheon today with my Steeped Tea girls.

I am so excited for that – in fact this week has had me going out a few times and not having to cook.

Tuesday for my birthday supper.

Wednesday for burgers at my friend’s house down the street.

Friday, today, our Steeped Tea luncheon.

Oh and tomorrow two of my girl friends are having a “birthday party” for me.

We are having carrot cake and I am so excited for that ….

Good way to end the vacation.

 

Well I should go and have a shower ….

Spend some more cuddling time with Mr. Alvin.

Love cuddling with the boy.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 27th day of May, 2016.

We had rain overnight and in fact, there was thunder as we were going to bed.

I could hear the wind blowing the rain against the windows.

The sky is overcast this morning but at least the temperatures are warmer than last weekend.

We are getting the much needed moisture and that is a great thing.

 

Alvin and I enjoyed our walk last night.

We changed it up a bit due to timing and went after supper.

It was peaceful and the air was nice.

I love our walks …..

 

I am thinking so much of the weekend and am looking forward to Elton spending the day with us tomorrow and then on Sunday completing the garage sale.

Lots of folks have checked it out on line so I am hoping that people will flock in and buy every last item and for the prices we are asking.

Would that not be nice?

 

Well time to go as this Momma hit the sofa for extra zzz’s this morning.

Part of it is cuddling with Alvin.

Sometimes he will jump up and lay on top of the blanket just behind my legs as I am curled up.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 12th day of May, 2016.

The sun is coming up and it was cool overnight.

Last night I broke down and turned the furnace on/up ……

Sweater and socks worked for me but poor Mr. Alvin not so much.

After consulting the weather channel I decided it deemed turning the heat back on/up.

Not worth shivering all the time.

I noticed almost seconds after I turned on the heat that my skin started to feel dryer and I immediately felt stuffed up.

Definitely need to check the furnace filter – consult the calendar and see when due for a cleaning.

I have an environmentally safe one so all I do is wash it with soap and water.

Works great.

I think Alvin is happier that the heat is on although he did snuggled under a corner of the sheet last night and right up beside me as always.

He is my guy for sure.

Pleased to report that our beloved Elton is doing well.

He always seems to perk up when my daughter arrives home.

But all things considered he is doing great and they/we are waiting to hear the latest test results.

Well here we go again time to leave for work, really how does that happen?

It feels like I just got home from work and now going back.

Last night it was almost 7:30 before I finished having supper and cleaning up closer to 8:00 p.m.

Normally we start heading up to bed just after 8:30 p.m.

The night just seemed to evaporate.

Well as the sun shines and glistens on the neighbourhood garage windows, I shall sign off.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning All and Welcome to FRIDAY the 6th day of December, 2013.

WOW, here it is past 9:30 already, and I am just getting a start to my day.

Oh my how lucky I am that I got to go back to bed for extra sleep this  morning.

Sometimes it seems like a good idea, and then once up thinking I could have had an extra couple of hours doing stuff.

Do you feel this way?

I try just to go with the flow but sometimes I do slip.

But this morning I am just plain grateful that after getting up a 5:10 with Alvin; we could go back to sleep.

You see I have the most comfortable sofa and I love to have a nap or two there whenever possible.

This whole week here in Edmonton has been bitterly cold.

There is an upside to it all ….. it has stopped SNOWING.

The sky is clear and the sun is shining.

Note: self dress warm whenever outside ….. COVER UP.

I have had a great week and am looking forward to the weekend.

Tomorrow my daughter and I are going to work on our jewellery.

I always enjoy any time that I spend with my girl.

Today, I will finish up the cards for the office (ones to mail are ready for stamps).

My thought for the day is: DO NOT BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF.

IF YOU SLEEP AN EXTRA COUPLE OF HOURS – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

IF YOU SIT ON THE SOFA AFTER SUPPER AND WATCH YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

IF YOU HAVE AN EXTRA CUP OF COFFEE – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

IF YOU SPENT TIME JUST CUDDLING WITH YOUR CHILDREN OR PERHAPS A PET – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

IF YOU WALKED A BIT FURTHER – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

IF YOU SPENT AN EXTRA 20 MINUTES IN THE BATH TUB – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

IF YOU SPENT EXTRA TIME READING YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK – THEN YOU NEEDED IT.

So take the time for you ……
