Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 12th day of November, 2016.

Today would have been my Dad’s 83rd Birthday.

We did not have the best relationship.

He would not have won any Father of the Year Awards but at the end of the day; he was still my Dad.

We start the day with only a bit of brightness which may be the sun this Saturday morning.

I believe they might have forecasted rain for today but I hope that does not happen.

Yesterday my daughter and I worked hard to prepare for the Craft Show that we are attending today in just a few hours.

We readied our remaining jewellery inventory.

It is always an amazing time when I get to spend moments, minutes and hours with her.

She is the best.

I never tire of telling the world about this incredible woman that I know and she just happens to be my daughter.

My Steeped Tea Leader “C” will also be at the event with Steeped Tea of course, so that will be great.

I have no idea how big this is or how many people will attend but I am happy to be there with my girl.

Well this will be short today.

Please remember that no matter what your relationships are like with your family – they are still your family.

If we show respect and give respect there will be respect at the end of the day.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all those families torn apart by differences and such; life is too short; try to work for better days.

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S. Wish us luck with the CrAfT SALE today ….

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 10th day of August, 2016.

Today was the birthday of a very special life force in our lives, our beloved Penny.

AKA: Penny Lane Hobbs.

She came into our lives with all the zest and zeal of a puppy, and that she was.

She chewed things, was adventurous, had a mind of her own and had the best voice and knew how to use it.

Penny loved walks, FOOD but most of all loved her Mom, Dad and big brother Elton.

She accompanied them on camping trips and loved to be outside exploring.

Alvin and Penny were a force to be reckoned with whenever they were together.

They played and they bugged each other and they played some more.

She left us in March and we were profoundly sadden by her departing but the memories of her will stay with us for an eternity.

A rose for our girl …….

Amanda's 33rd Birthday cake

The cake was for Amanda a few years back but it is appropriate that I post a photo of a cake in honour of Penny’s love for food and for her birthday.

Happy Birthday Penny.

We loved your energy and were so grateful that you were such a big part of our lives for over ten years.

We miss you and think of you every single day.

I was happy to be called your Grandma.

Rest in Peace our baby girl.

Love Your Family…..

Special Hello to: all those who share a birthday with Penny ….. have a wonderful day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 25th day of September, 2015.

It is a beautiful morning here in Edmonton.

Alvin and I had a great walk last night.

We bumped into a family that we know down the street.

Dad and son were outside playing on the front lawn with a skateboard.

Son was so happy to see us and wanted to call their dog, Daisy to come out to see Mr. Alvin.

So out comes excited to see Alvin again, Miss Daisy.

They play and play …. so cute.

Then Mom comes home.

She was so happy to see Mr. Alvin.

Gave him lots of loving attention.

We had a nice visit.

Just a reminder to all the love and joy that a dog can bring to your lives and to the lives of others.

Special Hello to: all those dog owners out there ….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 12th day of November, 2013.

Today would have been my Dad’s 80th Birthday.

My Dad passed away twenty years ago.

I would not say that we were close but he was my Dad, all the same.

Yesterday on FB,  I saw a photo of a dog laying on the back step of a house covered in snow.

There was a caption that said about bringing your pets indoors.

Last night when I was getting ready for bed I could hear a dog barking and barking.

I have no idea where exactly the dog is located.

It made me sad because this dog was outside.

Clearly the poor little guy needed to get inside and clearly the human that he is living with is not at home or ignoring him.

I wished that someone would help that dog.

I could tell that Alvin was listening to the barking.

When I opened the office window …. Alvin stood and barked.

He knew what was going on.

I wished that people would not be cruel.

What is wrong with people …. I just want to cry.

Why do we treat animals and each other with such contempt?

We need to protect each other, be kind and loving to every creature whether four-legged or two.

Special Hello to: my sister who brought me an unusual message this past weekend.  Thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin
