Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 3rd day of December, 2014.

Another day closer to Christmas.

I am so excited to do some Christmas baking this Saturday.

The plan is to make sugar cookies, macaroons and fudge.

Those are the main ones and if something else sneaks in there that would be fine as well.

I love to bake.

I am going to try and be a bit fancy decorating the sugar cookies this year.

Will have to figure something out …. no ideas at the moment …. just know that I want to make them different and pretty.

I hope that you have your list made and that you are zipping along with each task on it.

Just take one day at a time.

That is what I try to do.

If you look at the number of days left you might just feel overwhelmed.

Also even if you do happen to run out of time …… Christmas always turns out.

It is more the feelings that you have and are surrounded by than actual physical things.

More than a feeling …….

Well almost time to go to work.

Today I work at the office and then tonight at the store.

I love helping people find just the right gift.

Thanks again for reading my blog.

Have a fantastic day.

Oh, by the way I went to have my eyes checked yesterday afternoon and they are actually better distance wise and a bit less so close up.

No surprise.

I ordered some new specs and sunglasses and then there will be a new me.

It is like dressing up in a costume …. I always feel like a new person when I get new glasses.

The same applies to hair cuts.

Which reminds me …. almost time for me to trim my hair.

Yes, I cut my own hair.

Just basic but it works.

Happy Wednesday.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Special Hello to: anyone with a Birthday this month ….. Happy Birthday …..

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 1st day of November, 2014.

Once month closer to Christmas, and the day that I put up my Christmas Tree.

This year I have my daughter right here to help with the actual putting up of the tree.

The decorating is the easy part just takes the longest.

My tree is big and difficult for one person to put up … so I appreciate the help close by.

Looks like the sun is coming out so a good opportunity to take down the Halloween decorations.

Rake the lawn one last time.

I worked at the store last night but my daughter and son-in-law were here to hand out treats.

Lots of kids despite the rainy evening.

There were lots of people in the mall last night with their children out treating.

Lots of amazing costumes at our office and also at the mall.

I hope that you have an awesome Saturday.

I have laundry to do and Halloween decorations to take down and then up goes the TREE.

YAY ……

Happy First of November …… time changes here early Sunday morning ……

Special Hello to: my friends who live all over the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin

I

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 2nd day of October, 2014.

We are in the countdown to Halloween.

Last night with mention of you know what, I decided to quickly move the patio furniture into the garage and to clean out the remaining flower pots.

My son-in-law came out and helped lift the bigger stuff into the garage.

It was cool last night and the wind was blowing so I half expected to see some of the white stuff when I got up this morning.

But alas, Mother Nature decided to give us another reprieve.

Thank goodness.

I would love to have a long warm fall.

Where the white stuff did not arrive until say “Christmas morning.”

It has happened.

Perhaps this will be that year when it will happen again.

We can only hope and maybe dream.

Perhaps I should start visualizing a brown Christmas Eve.

I am excited on Saturday to start decorating for Halloween.

As I mentioned my kids have some great decorations …. now just to find them…..

Yikes, Mr. Alvin ….. we need your nose ….. that wonderful nose.

He is a hunter for sure.

Kind of gave me a scare this morning when we were doing our usual nap on the sofa when he stood on the arm of the sofa looking to the back door.

Very intently, I might add.

I hopped up and turned on the kitchen light from the sofa.

He kept looking and then got up and was sniffing by the back cupboard and also by the stove.

Paw up …. like the hunter he is.

My gosh, this had better not be another you know what ……

We will be keeping a close eye on this things.

We did check the outside of the house and did not find anywhere …

I cannot even fathom saying their name …. no, I cannot.

Well enough of that …..

He could have heard anything or smelled anything, right?

I hope that you have a great Thursday.

Always better when it is a payday.

YAY, now to pay the bills.

Thank you payday.

Special Hello to: all those folks who are preparing their homes for Halloween ….. have fun.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 26th day of November, 2013.

It is a beautiful morning here in Edmonton.

My nephew who has spent the past couple of nights here with me and Alvin has left for work.

I shall miss him.

Always nice to have company.

Completely switching gears.

How are your holiday plans coming along?

Have you started shopping?

Have you written cards and letters?

Perhaps no one does this anymore!

Have you done any baking?

Have you put up your tree?

Decorated the house and outside?

Children’s Christmas concerts?

So much to do, right.

Make a list of all the things that you would like to do over the holidays and in the time order you wish to have them completed.

Never hurts to write them on the calendar.

Makes it easier and less stressful.

So on this happy Tuesday – I wish you all the best of days.

Take care.

Special Hello to my family back in Regina …. Miss you all.

Always, Carol and Alvin.
