2021

Good Morning ALL. How are you this morning? Me, while I am a bit on the tired side. We went to bed just after 9:00 p.m…… Alvin was up at 11:30, 1:30, 3:45, 4:16 and 6:00 and then the alarm went off at 6:45 and I hit snooze for 15 minutes. ARGH. Not sure what is the problem. He does not appear to be feeling ill. Just off his sleep routine for some reason. Anyway, I am hoping that tonight we get a great night’s sleep. He is now whining at the doorway.

Today is the actual birthday of my friend Signe, we had her birthday party in my garage on Saturday. Happy Birthday to a great friend. My life would not be the same without you. Wishing you much love and laughter, great joy, good health and abundance. Happy Birthday from me and Alvin.

Yesterday we putzed for most of the day finishing laundry, some tidying up and went for a short walk. Nothing too much it was a quiet day. We also heard that one of our friends had a baby girl a few days ago and that was great news. Congratulations to them.

I heard on the weather forecast yesterday that we will have a couple of relatively nice days and then back into the deep freezer. I guess it is still Winter. Valentine’s right around the corner. A month full of birthdays. I have multiple family members and friends celebrating this month.

So on that note HAPPY 1ST DAY OF FEBRUARY 2021.

Definitely is a coffee morning. But really is there ever a morning that is not a “coffee morning?” Not for me. I seldom do not have coffee in the morning. I most especially love the smell of coffee as it perks.

Well I must apologize as this post will be short today. My brain is foggy from lack of sleep and I only hope that I will have some semblance of intelligence as I make my way throughout the day. He is just sitting staring at me. Oh my Alvin.

As I continue to live with kindness, respect, compassion and really working hard on having patience. Today will be a test for sure.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 9th day of December, 2016.

Another frosty cold morning here in Edmonton as is around the country.

Dress warm everyone.

It was an odd evening without Alvin here.

He went for a sleepover to his sister’s house.

Tomorrow I am having a Christmas Event (Steeped Tea and a couple of other vendors) at my house with people coming and going it would have been too stressful for the boy.

He loves people but gets so excited when he seems them.

So he is spending a few days with the baby Milo and the kids.

That is a good thing for them to spend more time together.

The puppy needs to have company so it is a good thing.

I am happy that the weekend is finally here.

As usual when Alvin is not at home, it feels odd and always takes me a bit to fall asleep.

But it is good for us both to be separate once in awhile as he is so much a Momma’s boy.

I had my eye appointment yesterday and picked out some new glasses and am excited to have them.

It was nice to have my girl helping me decide as usually I am alone making the decision.

Well I kind of slept a bit later this morning so I had better this show on the road.

Have a wonderful day.

Be kind.

Be safe.

Stay warm.

Special Hello to: my sister today …. we are to SKYPE on Sunday.  YAY.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 6th day of July, 2016.

Overcast and going to be a bit cooler today.

I actually am wearing pants today instead of a skirt or capris as it is so COLD in our office.

I am grateful for air conditioning – please do not get me wrong – but it can be most hard to regulate in a multi-story building.

Anyway, that is okay.

Dressed for it, today.

Last night after work was literally a blur.

One of my co-workers and her husband gave me a ride home as they were buying a couple of items from me.

We arrived at home and Mr. Alvin greeted them with his ever abundance exuberance.

I proudly gave them a tour of my house and later realized that I forgot to show them the main floor bathroom as I had left the door open (for Alvin in case of a tornado – inside walk and all of that) closing it when we were looking out the back door at the yard.

I love my main floor bathroom ….. the sink/cabinet and my decor.

Oh well.

In between the tour my neighbour called to say that her car and others parked out front had been broken into the night before ……

ARGH.

One of the items they were buying was my deep freezer.

My friend’s husband is having back surgery so we were on deck (although he helped here and there with caution).

The freezer was light only awkward.

We managed to get it up the stairs from the basement across the main floor and out to the truck and loaded without causing too much havoc.

I scraped the paint just a tad on the wall coming up from the basement but no big deal.

After they left I went into the basement to turn of the lights and noticed they forgot the other item.

I frantically looked in my Steeped Tea stuff for her phone number and found it but her phone went to voice mail.

Oh well.

I figured as Elton was visiting today and I was getting a ride to work that I would just take it with me.

Problem solved.

Then two other friends called before I had a chance to make supper.

Oh, plus we went over to meet a prospective new neighbour as my friend “S” was looking to adopt a dog and we wanted to give him the Alvin test.

Alvin loved him right off the bat which is odd as BIG dogs usually scare him.

In the end she decided her duplex was likely not the best fit as he is one big guy.

We all felt bad but looking out for him.

I know that he will find a lovely home as he is a wonderful laid back boy.

Supper.

Relaxed while I ate.

Then took Alvin for a walk and by the time we got home it was after 8:30 and almost time for bed.

Oh made lunch for today in between there.

It was one thing right after another.

Now it is almost time to leave for work.

So I had better get going.

They are going to be here soon.

Well it was an interesting evening for sure.

I even got some extra extra exercise with the freezer.

See what two women can do.

Have an awesome day.

Special Hello to: all those women who think they cannot well guess again, YOU CAN.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 14th day of May, 2015.

Well the sun is coming up ….. still a bit on the cool side in the mornings.

I still am wearing a jacket for my walk to the bus stop.

Maybe in a week or so ….. a sweater will do.

This morning I went to retrieve a voicemail message on my home telephone.

The old fashion touch tone portable phone …. I do not have a cell phone yet.

There is static on the other end.

Guess time for new phones.

They sure do not make things like they used to ….. everything is disposable.

Why oh why.

I do know the answer, but really I would love for manufacturers to have love for their products and make with integrity and quality.

It is so disappointing when items do not last.

I remember a deep freezer that my grandparents had on the farm.

It was there when I was a child, and it was moved from the farm to town.

I figured why it was about 30 or so years old.

Stoves and fridges used to last for 25 years or so.

One would tire of them long before they broke down and then most times they could be repaired.

Can you imagine house hold appliances and gadgets lasting that long?

Or at least make things to be repaired and not throw away.

Okay, I have had my little “rant” for the day.

Just disappointed …. I am not mad or sad …. just disappointed.

Well almost time to get back downstairs, grab my lunch and jacket (will need shoes, too) and snuggle with Mr. Alvin for a few minutes before heading off to work.

YAY, tomorrow is my day off and I am so excited.

Have a great great day everyone.

Special Hello to: all those people who take the time to read my blog, I so appreciate it.

Always, Carol and Alvin
