Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 9th day of January, 2019.

Another blast of COLD for this winter’s day.

But on the upside it is going to be warming up and be around zero on Saturday.

YAY.

I was thinking last night after listening to someone speak about the following:

I realize now that it has been my love of writing everyday in my journal since I was a young teenager that has brought me safely to this place.

Before journalling was thought to be more than just writing your thoughts down on paper in a diary or journal; I did that/this.

Perhaps I was one of those slightly ahead of the curve.

Writing is both fun and therapeutic.

I am here now because I was able to write down my thoughts and see my life on paper.

Writing has done so much for me.

I have always wanted to be a published writer – maybe even a New York Best Selling Author.

I have wrote in addition to my diary-journal, short stories, poetry, essays and most recently an on-line daily blog.

If I can reach one person and make them smile, touch them in some way, give them information or an idea – I am over the moon.

At the end of the day writing gives me great joy and good health.

What more could one ask for ……

Time to leave for work.

Somehow the time evaporated this morning.

Perhaps a few less minutes on the comfy sofa….. LOL.

Special Hello to: all those writers out there …. you rock.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 16th day of May, 2018.

Today will be somewhat cooler than the past couple of days.

AT this moment the sky is overcast and there is rain in the forecast.

We certainly could use a good soaking …

Decided to check on the day from last year and this is what was happening weather wise:

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 16th day of May, 2017.

The SUN is SHINING and the sky is a pretty much that gorgeous powder blue with a hint of pink.

There appears to be a bit of a breeze.

With hope of a beautiful day.

We needed the rain but now we could use the sunshine and some warmth.

I have held on and have not turned the heat on in the house.

This morning it was 60 degrees F ……

Not sure how Alvin feels about the coolness but if he did not have a toasty warm fur coat on – I would not have put him through this….

I will say one thing both of us are sleeping better.

Alvin has been sleeping past his usual 3:00-3:30 a.m.

So perhaps it is hypothermia …. not really …..

But definitely the cool temperature is good for sleeping.

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 16th day of May, 2016.

Another gorgeous morning, sun shining and blue sky.

There has been smoke in the air due to all of the forest fires in the province.

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 16th day of May, 2015.

It is overcast and very windy.

We did however receive some rain overnight which is great.

Perhaps it will rain over the course of the day and that would be wonderful as it is so needed.

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 16th day of May, 2014.

Well as I look write this blog it is raining here at my house.

So I was thinking that I need to think of something cheery to bright my moment.

**********************************

Sometimes it is nice to look back and see what the weather was like one year ago, two years ago or maybe five years ago.

It is so wonderful have this daily post to check in on my life last year or six years ago.

Some reminders that I have grown and some reminders that I need to step things up.

We learn in all sorts of ways.

Looking back by brain memory or a diary or an on-line blog are ways to do so.

I know what I was doing and feeling yesterday and five months ago and six years ago.

Well here we are once again, time to leave for work.

I hope that you have a great Wednesday.

Maybe think back on what you were doing this time last year.

Are you where you would like to be?

Are you happy?

Are you making progress or spinning your wheels.

Food for thought.

Special Hello to: You, today …. it is all about you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Friday June 16, 2017 and it is the 55 day until my 60th Birthday.

I want these 60 days leading up to my 60th Birthday to be extra special, and that is the reason for sharing my thoughts about life.

To be honest, most of my life I have learned things the hard way.

Not much has been handed to me or has come particularly easily but that is okay.

I know that each lesson, each hard knock, each step backward, each stumble has made me grow and be the person that I am today.

Now please do not misunderstand ….. my life has been pretty amazing for the most part.

I am not perfect.

That I know for sure.

I like each, and every person on this planet has moments of sheer greatness and moments of not so greatness.

That is life.

I always start each and every morning writing in a “Gratitude Journal” which has ended up being a combination GJ and Diary.

But it is so good for the soul and for your very being to write things down.

It seems to release thoughts, and make them real.

So my day starts like this:

Alvin kicks at the blankets ….. jumps off the bed ……. ┬ástands by the closed bedroom door and sometime lets out a small bark to let me know that he is ready to get up.

The only kicker is: it is usually anywhere between 3:30 – 4:30 a.m.

Now, this would not be so bad if I worked from home or was retired but I am neither.

So I coax him to remain in bed until closer to 4:00 or a bit later …..make the bed and then we then head downstairs ….. his water dish in tow.

Turning on lights as we go and when I reach the pantry …. I grab his glucosamine (for his joint health), and then his food.

He eats and has a drink of water before heading outside.

Depending on the time I set the timer on the microwave for some extra zzz’s on the sofa.

Usually we have time for some.

This is my favourite part of the day as Alvin lays his head on the pillow right beside me and we snuggle.

I love it.

What a wonderful way to begin the day.

After that ….. write in the journal ….. eat breakfast …… shower and get ready and then write my blog before heading back downstairs to grab my lunch, shoes, jacket and stuff and say my good-byes to me Alvin

before heading out the door.

It is a busy time.

But we are on a schedule …. so that helps.

So that is our morning routine ….. then it is on the bus to work for about one hour ……

WOW, cannot believe I am turning 60.

Always, Carol
