Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 2nd day of January, 2017.

January 2nd, 2017.

Did you wonder how 2017 was going to feel being one more year closer to 2020?

It feels so futuristic …. as though cars should be flying or at least driving without human invention.

I would have thought that we would have been further along the road to peace.

I would have thought that we would have cured every disease.

I would have thought that we would be treating other species with care, kindness and respect.

I would have thought that we would be the best planetary caretakers regarding the environment.

I would have thought that greed and power struggles would not be the underlying statement.

I would have thought that we would be further along than we are ….. disappointing, yes.

I hope that during 2017 we find it in our hearts and minds to work harder toward more safe technology and make things last longer so that the landfills and eco stations are not filled to capacity with no place to go.

I hope that during 2017 we find it in our hearts and minds to work together as a planetary collective and not as individual countries to solve all the ills of the world.

I hope that during 2017 we find it in our hearts and mind to bring peace at last to this beautiful emerald planet of ours.

I hope that during 2017 we realize that each and every living organism on this planet plays an important role in our future.

I hope that during 2017 brings stabilizing change for all of us.

I wish us all the best now and in the centuries to come.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 3rd day of May, 2016.

Another beautiful morning.

The air is cool and refreshing.

I left our upstairs windows open last night as to capture that coolness in the house.

We have central air conditioning but there is nothing like fresh cool night air to make you feel good.

For some reason I now have a “cold sore” and it feels like my mouth is out to there.

Oh well ….. no complaining now.

Last night on our walk we ran into old friends.

Some we only see in the summer on walks.

One of them was our friend Shaun and his dog Angus.

Angus is now deaf, partially blind but he certainly walks with fine style and enjoyed himself.

Angus is 15, I believe.

Another dog we saw again is blind but from a degenerative disease but she walked like she could see.

So amazing these babies.

We were glad to see everyone and make new friends.

Someone asked Alvin’s age last night on our walk and was surprised he is 7 ….. he acts so much younger.

I guess there is something to be said for acting younger than your age.

To look and act younger keeps you around longer, I suspect.

Well here we go again ….. almost time to leave.

This morning we, I had to hit the sofa for some extra zzz’s …. not sure why.

We should have gone for a walk but we will try for tomorrow.

I am thinking with this hot weather that we will walk in the morning when it is cooler.

Remember “acting” seems to be a good thing.

Perhaps the art of play is not just an illusion.

Am I making sense??

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 10th day of January, 2016.

A welcome sign this morning the sun is actually rising and the sky is somewhat clear this morning.

This winter the sky has been overcast so much that we miss seeing the sun shine.

With not having the sun shine it is actually depressing.

I know many people suffer from a type of depression when the sun does not shine from the lack of light.

Today we are good.

 

Yesterday was an awesome day my baby, my darling, my daughter came for a visit and surprised me and Alvin by bringing both Elton and Miss Penny along.

Our dear Penny is not the same energetic bouncy vocal girl she once was but that is what a serious disease will do to one.

Mr. Elton is in pretty good health other than his hearing and that makes for some interesting moments.

He cannot hear us and thinks we cannot hear him.

There are some things about getting old that I am not looking forward to …..

It was so great to have them all here with us and we ENJOYED IT SO MUCH.

The walls are still smiling and the air remains full of song this morning.

I made pancakes for we girls and afterwards we made jewellery.

Well actually my daughter made jewellery and I practiced making flowers.

I came up with the idea kind of in a day dream about making petals …. flowers.

Then ladies can place a drop of an essential oil on the flower ….. and it will be like having flowers with you.

Obviously you cannot just start making “flowers” to be used so it will take some practice.

I did make two and they look pretty good for the first time.

My daughter left me some clay so that I can practice.

I can tell you it is so relaxing and FUN.

In between our fun … I took a run (borrowed her car) to the grocery store.

It was a great day.

I felt like a million dollars with my family here with us.

I even managed to slip in a couple of loads of laundry throughout the day and early evening.

Alvin and I curled up on the sofa and watched a couple of movies that I had recorded and had the most relaxing evening.

The best Saturday ……

 

So on this Sunday there will be more laundry in my future.

I also want to call some folks and see about booking a tea party or two and secure some orders.

So phone calls also in my future.

So happy to see the sun shine.

The temperature is supposed to warm up so I can go for a walk with Mr. Alvin.

It has been a couple of very cold days so we did not go.

He did go in the back yard to bury his chew treat from time to time and take a run about.

Time for toast and coffee and perhaps banana to share with Mr. Alvin …. he is waiting.

Also share coffee with my neighbour ….. she buys the beans, I grind them and make coffee for us …. I make her a special one …. am I not the luckiest person.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, the 28th day of May 2013.

Wow, almost the end of May.

Do you have your gardens and flowers planted?

Summer is almost officially here ….. just a few more weeks.

 

Just curious…..

Are you a good neighbour?

Are you surrounded by good neighbours?

In order to be surrounded by good neighbours or good people in general ….

Guess what you must ….. you must be a good person / a good neighbour yourself …..

 

I am surrounded by great neighbours so I guess I am doing something right.

So that makes me feel good.

Feeling good is what it is all about.  Right ……

 

Last night two of my “not right beside me” neighbours dropped by to let me know that there is there “black rot” on some of the trees in the neighbourhood.

Across the street from my house is a tree that has this disease.

So they wondered who to contact as no one is home to tell.

As I am the “Block Captain for the Capital City Cleanup” they figured I might know.

So the girls showed me what it looks like and I am so relieved that my tree is healthy.

But I guess this spreads and can kill trees.

If it gets to far gone you have to  chop down the tree.

So this is my new mission to find out what to do.

One of the ladies had this on her tree but she did what they said to do (on garden show) and her tree is okay.

Being a home owner is being responsible that is for sure.

See, I am so blessed to have people that truly care ……

 

Well time to go to work so I had better run.
