Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Wednesday already.

Sky is a mix of clouds and sunshine.

The past month or so we have had on average four days with rain per week.

Crazy.

The rest of the week was not all sunshine …. but there was the occasional rainbow.

Yesterday Alvin and I enjoyed a walk after work, we took our usual route.

Always makes my day to see the geese and the babies almost grown up.

The families of geese were spread out on the grass and up to the sidewalk as we approached the park.

We would have to walk almost right by them.

Mr. Alvin totally ignored them …. I don’t think he even took a glance in their direction.

He stayed on the right side of me which was the furthest away from them.

Alvin just sniffed in the grass beside the sidewalk.

I was proud.

NO barking.

NO chasing.

He just had respect for those beautiful creatures.

Mama, well I was taking in the view and trying to miss the goose poop which was everywhere.

Alvin somehow and I don’t believe intentionally seemed to miss the poop.

Thank goodness.

As we neared Master Teddy’s house as per usually Alvin took a beeline across their lawn.

I called him back only to see Teddy’s Dad sitting in his work van; he saw Alvin and quickly opened the door to the van.

He called Alvin over and invited us in for a visit.

Alvin raced to the door.

I unhooked his leash as he had his nose right in the crook of the door.

He was not going anywhere but inside once the door was opened.

So cute.

We had a great visit with our friends.

Teddy might be joining us on Saturday for the day.

It will be great as we will also have my grand-pups here while my kids attend a friend’s wedding.

Lots of four-legged babies on Saturday.

Love it.

Friday will be busy getting my laundry and stuff done.

I like to have a free day when have the pups around so that I can play with them.

Once home after our walk last night; I went and picked up Humphrey.

Who was at the door …. waiting for me.

He had his nose in the crook as well.

Guess he could smell me.

Anyway the boys had a good night.

Inside and out.

Later on when I was getting sleepy I took Humphrey home which was about 9:00 p.m.

Humphrey had been laying on Alvin’s big doggie bed surrounded by Alvin’s toys.

I called him and said “Come on Humphrey, time to go home.”

He actually got up and ran to the door.

I scooped him up grabbing my keys.

After I locked the house; I noticed a brown bundle by the tree.

Well here it was a bunny eating the bird seed that my friend leaves for the birds.

We were only a few feet … maybe 5 feet from him.

He just chewed and watched us go by.

Humphrey looked over my shoulder very intently as we walked by and up the steps to his house.

I even managed to walk right by him and to my house.

Once inside I grabbed my phone/camera and snapped these photos.

So cute.

Well here we go again … another day ….

Have an awesome Wednesday.

I hope that this post finds you in good health, filled with great joy and surrounded with love and abundance.

Always with Kindness and Respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 9th day of April 2018.

The sky is begin to lighten as the sun slowly begins to rise.

This week I am riding the bus as my friend is on vacation.

Yesterday we had an unexpected but happy guest.

Master Teddy spent the afternoon with us while his parents attended a birthday party.

OMG, he brings a smile to my face.

He is always so happy to come to our home and that makes me happy.

I am so pleased that Alvin has a playmate in our neighbourhood that he can see on a semi regular basis.

Teddy brings an energy to the house that brings a part of Alvin’s younger days back.

So great to see.

Although they do not play for long periods of time – they like each other.

They are happy to be chewing away on treats together.

Teddy on the new bed and Alvin on the sofa.

I also learned a valuable lesson yesterday.

You know how Mr. Alvin loves his vegetables.

Well I had given them both a few cooked peas in their own bowls.

Which they gobbled down.

Then I gave Alvin a piece of broccoli.

I figured that he ate it and never thought anything more about it until a bit later, I was in the living and looked down at the new doggie bed and saw bits of uneaten vegetable.

So nicely nestled in the fibres of the bed.

I then spent the next ten minutes or longer picking each tiny bit and piece out of the bed.

ARGH.

Lesson learned.

No one wants broccoli bits on their bed and most especially once they start to rot.

ARGH.

I believe that I got them all.

Later in the afternoon Teddy’s Mom arrived.

She walked from her house so as to walk Teddy home.

I asked if we could join them as we had not gone for a walk, so we did.

The wind was cool but the temperature felt warmer than it has in several days/weeks.

Perhaps spring is actually here.

Well time to leave for work.

The morning minutes fly by.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. hello….. how are you? SKYPE?

Always, Carol & Alvin

Alvin and his new “bed”

Some weeks ago,  I purchased this cute sort of plaid cloth doggie bed for Alvin.  I thought that perhaps he would lie in it when we were in the kitchen or out on the deck.  Thinking it would be more comfortable than lying on the cold floor or the hard wooden deck.  The first time that I put it down all he would do was to chew on it.  After about five minutes, I realized that this was not the best idea that I have ever had, so I put it into the basement for future “use”.  This afternoon I am up in my office working on my BLOG, and also attempting to get my closet (papers and stuff) cleaned out.  Alvin was kind of “bored” so I thought that I would go into the basement, and fetch his new bed.  Once again he started chewing on it and I “calmly”  explained to him that this was his bed, and that he should not chew on it.  I tried to give him his bone to chew on in it’s place,  but to no avail.  I guess that I did this for about fifteen minutes before opening the office door, and gently tossing the bed into the hallway.  I started to giggle when Alvin laid down beside the door and started to “cry” …. you know that sound that all “babies” make no matter if they are human or animal.  After a couple of minutes I picked him up, and held him on my lap (he really is too big now).   Once he settled down I grabbed the bed from the hallway, and gently urged him onto the bed.  It was so funny because he did the “digging” thing that he and all dogs do when they are settling down to sleep.  Then he just laid down.  No chewing or fussing or coaxing from me.   WOW.  I put my foot on the inside corner of his bed as he always likes to touch me when he lays down.  I know, I know.  Spoiled, not MUCH!!   Okay, this will generate some “ah’s” –  he nestled his head to touch my foot and went to sleep.  Ah.  Some days he is just too cute for words.  He does have his moments but OMG …… most of the time he is “just too cute for words”…..

Mmm, I am not sure how I am going to get up and clean out the closet.  I do not wish to “wake him”.  I guess I can continue to write for a bit longer.  After all, that is what I am supposed to be doing……. LOL.

Another adventure of Alvin and his Mom…

note: my foot is falling asleep – LOL

FOOTNOTE: LOL (Alvin moved into another position and I removed my foot.  Perhaps, my sock smelled or something.  LOL)  All is well.
