Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 21st day of August, 2016.
There is a delightfully cool breeze coming in through the open upstairs windows in my house.
My skin is drinking it in ….. it feels so good.
We had some rain before we went to bed and some overnight but by morning only the cloudy sky and damp deck remained.
The sun is shining now but definitely a change in the temperature at least at this time.
I wanted to share something with you.
A few days ago Alvin and I were out for our evening stroll.
We happened across several people out walking with their pups.
We ended up walking with a man and his dog named Scout.
A nice younger man and even though his dog was slightly bigger than Alvin – he sniffed and they socialized.
We talked about a recent situation he had while they were out walking.
He said it was later in the evening and it was dark.
He noticed two young guys walking.
Then he noticed two dogs with no apparent humans.
At first he thought they belonged together and they had the dogs off leash.
But it was not the case.
The dogs went after Scout.
He rescued Scout and suffered injuries.
Both the man and Scout ended up with minor injuries.
I will not mention the breed of dogs.
They get enough of a bad rap.
He reported the incident to the Police and found out that the dogs had escaped from their back yard once again.
Just so happy that the man and his dog named Scout were okay.
Alvin and Scout just walked along okay with each other.
I reason that I relay this story was because while we were walking I happened to look down and see this huge DRAGONFLY.
It did not appear to be alive.
Just to give you a reference it was larger than the one in these photos.
I bent down and gingerly picked it up and it filled my hand.
The man looked over at the dragonfly and we both remarked about how beautiful it was.
Just then the dragonfly moved it’s head and I breathed a sigh of relief to know it was alive.
The man said “Let me take a photo of it,” and drew out his cell phone from his pocket.
He snapped a couple of photos of the dragonfly laying on my hand.
We had to step off the sidewalk as people were coming up the walk.
I held the dragonfly for a minute longer and then went to set it down on the grass when it got it’s bearings and slowly flew away.
Happy ending to this story for everyone.
I so enjoyed meeting this man and Scout.
Funny you never know who you will meet when you are out for a walk.
I love meeting people and so love dragonflies.
I am so pleased that we went out at that exact time or we would not have met the Man, Scout or the Dragonfly.
Well the sky is beginning to cloud up.
I can hear breakfast calling and COFFEE.
We slept in this morning …… because we can.
Happy Sunday everyone.
Special Hello to: my sister – glad to hear all is well.
Always, Carol and Alvin
