Thought for the day…..

Good Thursday morning and welcome to November 8th, 2012.

Shortly after I wrote this blog it started to snow here in Edmonton and did not stop till late in the day ….

I guess Mother Nature was injecting her sense of humour yet once again.

When we were driving to work the roads that we took were good but shortly thereafter things changed.

Traffic slowed down and it took forever for people to get to where they were going.

Several accidents occurred.

Luckily for me and my co-workers we were advised after lunch to go home.

So I came home to find the sidewalk to my house buried and it was sort of like finding a needle in a haystack …. find the storm drain …. add a couple of inches ….. over to the left …. then to the right …. one step … you get my drift.

It was crazy.  I spent some time shovelling ….. several times in fact. ….. because it just kept snowing.

Anyway we are leaving for work early this morning as the roads are less than perfection.

I hope that wherever you are …. that you get to your destination safe and sound.

Let’s keep our thoughts and hearts open for our fellow “North Americans” on the eastern coast …. keep safe and warm..

Also I am grateful for my home, my family and friends and that I am safe and warm.

Take Care……

Special Hello to:  all those selfless people who give on a daily basis you are our heroes.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Welcome to Thursday, November 1st, 2012 …..

I had a great Halloween yesterday ….. dressed up in my “bunch of grapes” costume.

So many of the office staff dressed up and such great costumes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of kids that came by for treats last night.

It was quite cold with the windchill last night.

Some parents drove them around so that was good.

Both me and Alvin enjoyed greeting them at the door and we were happy to see some of our friends and neighbours.

I had to put Alvin on his leash otherwise he would have been gone treating with the kids.  LOL.

I hope that you all had a great Halloween night last night and welcome to November 1st.

I am excited because on Saturday I put up my Christmas tree.

Down with the Halloween stuff and up with the Christmas stuff.

Well I had better run here ….. was late as I had a few extra things to do this morning.

Have a great day …..

Keep safe and warm ….

Special Hello to:  All those people living on the North American Eastern Seaboard …. I hope that you are safe, dry and warm ….. our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Always, Carol and  Alvin …….

Thought for the day…..

Welcome to Tuesday, October 30th, 2012…..

I just want to take this opportunity to say to all those people on the eastern seaboard …. you are in our thoughts and prayers …. we hope that you are all safe, warm and dry.

Hopefully Sandy will dissipate sooner than anticipated.

So on this calm, late autumn day in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where we have a blanket of snow covering most of the ground …. we are thankful for that covering.

This is one of those times where neighbours help neighbours and we help one another.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day wherever you are and that you are with your loved ones.

Take care.

Special Hello: to us all ….. we deserve and are worthy of greatness …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S. you know something is very wrong when the late night talk shows have no one in the audience.  Thanks Dave for putting on a show anyway …. I only watch a few minutes but I was impressed.
