It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Second last day of April.

Can you believe it?

Today is a great day for many reasons.

My kitchen tap is getting fixed today.

Hip Hip Hooray.

So excited.

My daughter is popping by for a visit and lunch.

No hugging, I know.

Keeping the proper distance, we shall.

One of my friends is picking me up some light bulbs.

Then there shall be light.

So a great day.

I was lazy as we were first up just before 4 p.m.

Then up a couple of times afterward until up at 6:30 a.m.

Which is super late for us.

So running a bit late.

In this case, I am going to share some cheery photos.

Who does not like green, flowers and pets? and perhaps some geese?

I apologize.

Sometimes you just need that extra bit of zzz’s.

Greens, anyone?

Two friends just looking out of the window

Mr. Dave, gone but not forgotten.

A true gent.

Penny, Alvin and Elton.

Always looking for a bit to eat, a treat.

Miss Penny and Sir Elton gone to heaven.

Our little angels.

Two of my favourites: Mr. Alvin and Flowers.

Who does not like pretty colours dancing on the wall.

Ah, Mama’s boy…….isn’t he cute!!!

Well time to fly downstairs and grab my coffee.

Then to work.

I have a meeting this morning and lots of work to do.

This afternoon I am off as my kitchen tap is getting fixed.

So happy about that.

A visitor, too.

Great day.

Bit of work and a bit of play.

Wishing you days filled with kindness and respect,

I/We remain,

As Always, Carol & MR. Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR

Good Morning and Happy Friday.

Also Happy Valentine’s Day to all my LOVES.

Happy Valentine’s Day to EVERYONE.

This is also a long weekend for us in parts of Canada.

Family Day is this coming Monday.

What a great way to begin the weekend.

Last night I received a call out for assistance from Teddy’s  Aunt J.

Poor KOBI (puppy) has giardia.

She has been treated twice.

This is a parasite that puppies get from eating poop.

The parasite leaves the body in the poop but it develops into a cyst within hours.

This is the part that is infectious to other animals and people.

The surroundings have to be vacuumed, floors washed with a disinfectant, and any bedding, pillow covers, floor mats etc. have to be washed on a sanitation cycle every day.

My poor friend J, is exhausted.

Teddy has been treated by their VET so he is okay and poses no threat to Mr. Alvin.

Teddy will come and spend the weekend with us so that Aunt J can have a break, and Teddy, as well.

The puppy is busy without all of the added bonuses.

Alvin will get to see his best friend for Valentine’s Day.

I am sorry that I did not pick up a special treat for them.

But alas we have a container chalked full of yummy treats for puppies.

So I am quite certain that I can find something for the boys.

Well how do you spend Valentine’s Day?

Is it a big deal?

Not for me.

Perhaps somewhat when I was a younger woman and dating.

It was kind of important.

But not so much that I was upset if I did not receive flowers or a gift.

It is more of a retail grab these days than anything else.

Jewelry stores want you to buy diamonds for the special person in your life.

Florists want to sell you roses.

Candy stores want to sell you the biggest box of chocolates.

Then there are cards.

I do sometimes give my kids and grandpups a little treat.

Nothing huge.

Alvin gets a treat as he usually would and hugs with love.

I think that we should treat our family, friends, and all beings with kindness and respect all year round.

Not just make a big deal once or twice a year.

Life is life.

Make certain today and every other day of the year that you show your love and appreciation for all beings.

We cannot survive without each other.

Whether you are an elephant in Africa or a single woman in Canada or a bee in California.

We all need each other.

We are all linked.

When the chain is broken …..

Let us not go there.

Have an awesome Friday.

I honor you with kindness and respect today and always.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Our fur loves past and present ……

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 23rd day of November, 2018.

The air seems warm for this time of year.

No wind.

Last night Alvin and I enjoyed our full walk.

The sidewalks were good.

The air felt good on our faces as we hiked along the pathway by the lake.

I noticed on the first “pond-lake” there was some open water.

Just a note not to go onto lakes as they are not frozen hard at this point.

I am so grateful that today is Friday.

Found out last night that Master Teddy will be joining us tomorrow.

He brings a joy to our house when he visits.

It will be good for us both and I really missed him even though it has only been one week since he last visited.

IN MEMORY

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 23rd day of November, 2017.

Today is one year plus a day that our beloved Elton joined the puppy park in the sky.

We miss him and think of him everyday.

Here is one of my most favourite photos of our beloved Elton and Penny.

Both gone but definitely not forgotten.

Love you babies.

Elton and Penny, the grand-puppies.

Over the past year so many of our four-legged companions, our loved ones have passed.

My thoughts and heart is with everyone who has said good-bye to their babies.

It is hard, no doubt about it.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all the Angels watching over us, happy just chasing rainbows.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 28th day of May, 2018.

A gorgeous morning.

Slight breeze.

Sunshine.

Perfection.

Alvin slept until the alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. – we were up to stay up, then.

We are on pet patrol – meaning I am pet sitting for a friend and neighbour.

So in order to look after everyone – we are staying up.

Poor Humphrey was not impressed that I did not stay for long this morning.

Cinder, the gecko – well she does not utter a word.

I was over several times on the weekend and stayed for longer periods of time.

Humphrey is the Cat.

He is a good guy and likes to go outside.

What a great weekend – surrounded by animals and children.

May 28, 2010 – Watching my Grand-puppies. (This was before I started “Thought for the Day”).

Appears that having fur babies around me has been happening for a long time.  These ones were extra special to me and I think of them everyday.

My kids left this morning for a week.  They flew to Toronto.  So Elton and Penny are spending the time with me and Alvin.  I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised at how well behaved they have been.  It was off to a bit of a slow start with last night.  Elton must have missed his Mom and Dad because he just couldn’t settle down.  Alvin spent the night following Penny around the bed.  Yes, they all slept with me.  They are cute and I love them.  Well, have to run.  I will share some stories later of our time together…….  It will be an earlier night as I believe I slept for a total of 3 hours last night.

Ah…… poor Grandma…..  🙂

…………………………………………………………………………..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 28th day of May, 2014.

Wow the skies are playing magic tricks this morning.

When I first was up the sun was rising.

Then it was shining.

Now the sky is overcast.

If I wait for another minute the sun will be shining once again.

Mother Nature in all her glory.

So beautiful.

We have certainly needed and enjoyed the moisture received over the past few days.

Our grass is such a nice green now.

I hope that wherever you are  ….. that you are enjoying perhaps green grass and trees and pretty flowers.

Maybe you live near the ocean and are enjoying walking in the sand.

I am so grateful that I have eyes to see this beautiful planet.

I am so grateful that I have ears to hear all the sounds on this beautiful planet.

I am so grateful that I can tell everyone about everything I see and hear.

I am so grateful that I can smell all the fragrances and aromas all around me.

Thank you.

I hope that you are enjoying every piece of this planet …..

Take it in and enjoy.

Treat it all with love and respect ….. every bit.

……………………………………………………………………………….

I guess over the years weather, Mother Nature and our babies have been most important.

I love to look back and read what was happening on the same date years ago.

Well time is a rolling along.

Alvin is laying on his blue blanket – which has become a routine for him.

So happy to see the sunshine but there is some rain in the forecast for Wednesday.

We could use some moisture.

Happy Monday.

Special Hello to: all those folks who write …. I love to read, keep writing and sharing.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 2nd day of May, 2018.

Here we go.

Summer is only a breath away or perhaps two.

The sunrise is lovely this morning.

Still on the cool side but by afternoon and the time that Alvin and I go for a walk it is quite comfortable.

Perfect actually for a walk.

The geese have taken up residence by our ponds.

I love the geese except for the little bundles they leave on the sidewalk.

Soon they shall have their babies, goslings.

They are so cute.

But really, what babies are not?

All babies are cute and most are cuddly.

Perhaps I would not wish to cuddle with a baby alligator or crocodile.

Here is a photo from last June (2017).

Oh, they are so so cute.

Have to watch out for the babies, will not be long now.

Penny and Elton as pups.

They were so cute and we will miss them forever.

Alvin with his toys & the blue blanket was a gift from his foster parents.  MY BABY BOY.

A baby – calf

So many babies in our lives.

We are touched by them all.

Today I am thinking of renewal.

New life ….. babies of all descriptions.

Keep all of the little ones safe today and always.

Nourish them and treat them with respect.

Well here we go almost time to leave for work.

I hope that you all have an awesome Wednesday.

Alvin is starting to make laying on his blue blanket part of the norm, now.

Oh, my boy.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello to: all those parents out there – whether your babies are two or four-legged or many or none – all life is precious.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 16th day of February, 2018.

YAY, it is Friday.

Forecast is for SNOW, oh yay.

Can you sense my enthusiasm?

I am happy it is the weekend and a long one at that.

Monday is FAMILY DAY so we have the day off from work.

A nice treat.

I think that today shall be photo day, favourite photo day.

I am going to post some of my favourite photos.

Hoping that they bring a smile to your face and perhaps spark a good memory for you.

The most yummy CARROT CAKE and it happened to be for my 60th Birthday.

Oh, me Alvin ….. just relaxing.  Every weekend morning we lay on the sofa as he likes to get up at 4:00 and his Momma not so much.

So we get up, he eats and has some water and then goes outside to do his morning constitutional (his business) and then we snuggle on the sofa for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

But normally I would be on the other side of him.  He is so darn cute.  CUTENESS alert.

I love owls and they always remind me of my Mom.

She is gone but not forgotten.

Nothing more special than a Momma and her babies.

Alvin and I saw this beautiful family when we had been out for a walk in the summer.

Babies are so fuzzy and cute.  Momma is graceful.

Tulips for Canada’s 150.

I love Tulips because they are my daughter’s favourite flower.

My grand pups ….. more CUTENESS.

Miss Aspen on the my left and Baby Milo on the right.

So cute.  Aspen is reserved and Milo, sometimes a holy terror.

We love them so much.

One of my most absolute photos is of my grand pups that have since passed.

Miss Penny on the left with the red scarf and Sir Elton on the right in the blue.

They were the loves of our lives for many years and we hold them in our hearts and thoughts forever.

Deck complete, what a beautiful sight. Now for the flowers…. FUN

Back in summer of 2010 one year after I moved in ….. I contracted this deck to be built.

No regrets.

Back when he was still a young one …. Mr. Alvin basking in the sunshine on the deck.

First snowman me and my sister made since we were kids ….. (2009)

Our Beautiful Mom Jeannie,
1938-1993

Wrapped gifts …. so beautiful….

I love wrapping gifts for Christmas.

Whoops time to go.

Have a great Friday.

Special Hello to: You.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 10th day of May, 2015.

HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY TO YOU.

It is a glorious bright and sunny morning in Edmonton.

I am so excited for this day.

My beautiful daughter is coming over this morning and we are having pancakes.

She is bringing Elton and Penny of course, Alvin is excited to see them.

After enjoying some pancakes and coffee we are going to head out and do some errands.

Any time that I can spend with my daughter is great.

It doesn’t matter if it is shopping for groceries or just kicking back on the deck enjoying a mug of coffee.

Time with her is time well spent.

I wish to all of the Moms out there a glorious day.

May you enjoy the time with your children whether two-legged or four.

May the sun shine down upon you.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Also on this day we remember all of the “MOMS” who have gone before us ….. we treasure the memories.

Special Hello to: my Sister, another great Mom ….
