Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 15th day of July, 2017.

Another hot one on the way…..it is late morning and already you can feel the heat and humidity.

I wished that I would have stayed up at 7:00 during one of the times that Alvin had my out of bed / sofa.

But alas I did not so we went on a walk at just before 10:00 a.m. – we were only a short way into the park when Alvin decided he was ready to go home.

The breeze was cool to me but not to Mr. Alvin.

I always carry water with us but it was not enough.

I listen to the boss so we went home.

At home I watered all of my outdoor plants and flowers and moved the flower pots into the shade.  Most of them anyway.

Supposed to be 31 degrees celsius today and then much cooler tomorrow.

We really could use some more rain.

 

I wish for rain for our neighbouring province to the west, British Columbia.

I cannot get them out of my head ….. the farmers … the animals ….. domestic and wild …… the ranchers …. trees …. the people.

Please pray for rain ……

Thinking of you my neighbours …….

 

Well today is going to be low key.

As with no functioning air conditioning movement in the house makes you hot.

I have a fan thankfully and the furnace fan is helping.

I only am concerned about me Alvin but for now he is okay.

If need be we will sit on the sofa by the fan drinking coffee and eating BON BONS …… likely not the sweets but could be coffee.

Lots of water nearby for both of us.

 

Last night I held a Mary Kay party at my house.

My dear friend “G” came over and we played with makeup all evening long.

It was great.

I felt so pretty after it all …… even got my eyebrows looking good!

I shared with the Consultant and my Friend a pitcher of Steeped Tea’s Winter Sangria with ginger ale.

So yummy…. the only thing missing was some ice.

Note to self:  make some ice cubes….

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 21st day of July, 2016.

What a glorious past couple of days and I am sad that my friend will be going home tomorrow.

We have one more evening and early morning together.

Alvin has grown quite attached, and even Mr. Elton was happy to have a new friend.

You know him he sometimes takes a while to warm up to people.

Last night when I arrived home from work in the rain I opened the door to find my friend standing in the kitchen starting to make buns.

She had arrived to the house a few minutes before that and was making the preparations for the buns.

So lucky me now has fresh cinnamon buns, cheese buns and regular buns.

How grateful, and happy for those treats am I.

It was another fast paced evening between the kids coming for Elton, watching over my “Cinder” (neighbour’s pet), making supper, we walked, the buns, of course, visiting, clean-up and visiting.

The minutes just zipped by.

It was another 11:30 night but I am so happy to have had this opportunity.

She is such a great person and friend.

Alvin is so smitten with her ….. he lays beside her in the protection pose.

So cute.

He is wondering this morning as she is still in bed as there is no reason for her to be up and out at this crazy early time.

The air is so humid.

So humid in fact that by the time I leave the house my eyebrows have come off.

Okay shall I explain.

Everyone knows as you get older you hair lightens and finally turns white or grey.

Well mine have lightened a LOT.

So I have befriended an eyebrow pencil.

I have been using them for years just to add a bit more depth and colour.

Well now I really need that good old pencil.

So I had better check them out as I fear they have melted in this humidity.

Well almost time to pack my lunch into my back pack and head out to work.

Almost the end.

This weekend marks the beginning of K-Days (big city fair).

We are having a pancake breakfast at work tomorrow morning so that will be nice.

Short day as we close so that everyone can take in the parade.

Busy weekend ahead with Open House for Steeped Tea at my neighbours, garage sale in my garage for a friend, my Tea Tasting on Sunday.

Time to go here.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 16th day of January, 2016.

BRR, it is mighty cold outside.

Supposed to be minus 25 celsius today and that does not include the windchill.

I was going to give Alvin a trim and then he would have to have a bath but am thinking it might have to wait until next weekend.

Will have to check his nails as paws must be trimmed before the pedicure.

My boy has to be in tip top shape.

 

I just noticed Mr. Alvin was laying outside the office with something between his paws ….. ah, shucks he had one of my socks.

Jumped up and grabbed the sock before it has a hole chewed in it ….. he pulled it out of the laundry basket.

What a guy.

So I blocked the basket with another until I finish this and we go downstairs to start the day.

This morning I found it difficult to get my butt out of bed.

Could be because I have the minus twenty something in my head and just wanted to stay tucked up warm as a bug in a rug.

We were up twice earlier for Mr. Alvin ….. breakfast and then couple of hours later he had to go outside again.

Anyway we are now up ….. bed has been made …… clothes gathered up for laundry …… washed and groomed (eyebrows on), dressed and it is almost 9:30 a.m.

Mid morning …. late morning I guess.

Oh well …… most of my things today were not time sensitive ….. the laundry does not care what time it gets done ….. the bathrooms do not care what time they get cleaned.

So it is okay ….. I always feel bad when I get up late …..

Okay I am finished moaning and groaning.

It is a lovely day …… just doing some things around the house ….. perhaps run to the store ….my neighbour said I could borrow her car.

It would be a cold walk and the bananas would be frozen by the time I got home.

 

Well I hope that you have a great Saturday …. don’t hit yourself over the head if you decide to stay in bed a bit longer …. it is Saturday.

If it is your day off …. the laundry can be started at noon and the toilet can be cleaned in the afternoon ….. right.

Thought for the day…..

Good Evening and Welcome to Monday the 23rd day of March, 2015.

Sorry …. what a morning …..

I decided to go back to sleep for a few extra minutes.

Then my kids both were sick so had to make other arrangements for the ride to work.

My daughter said I could take the car but I decided not today.

So I called my neighbour.

We both work downtown.

The first time the call went to voicemail.

The second time she answered and said she had been running late and had wanted to be gone already ….

Lucky for me I had ten minutes before she was going to leave so I brushed my teeth, put on my eyebrows, got dressed, rushed downstairs, grabbed my lunch, grabbed my boots, purse, bag and coat … locked the door and was gone (in less than ten minutes).  WHEW.

I got to work by 6:50 a.m.

Anyway … I felt bad as I was not able to write my morning blog.

“Forgive me” …….

After rushing …. sometimes that can jinx your day but I actually had a very productive awesome day.

When I got home I made a quick trip to the grocery store.

NOTE TO SELF:  EAT SOMETHING BEFORE YOU GO GROCERY SHOPPING.

Argh …. spent way too much ….. reminder for next time.

My veggie burger is in the oven so I thought this would be the perfect time to send you all a little note.

Better late than never, I suppose.

Also, talk about mucky out there ….. melting snow …… mud ….. dirt …..gravel…..

I sure hope that you guys had an awesome day.

Well time to go and get the trimming ready for my burger ….. the bun, avocado, mustard, cheese …. my mouth is watering.

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 28th day of December, 2013.

Only three days left in December.

Looks like I can see shovelling in my near future.

My get up and go has got up and gone.

But I will get that shovelling down.

I do have a coffee date.

It was supposed to be at one friend’s house but her hubby is sick so now changed to the other friend’s house.

So I can see coffee on my near horizon.

It seems so quiet without Mr. Alvin at home.

Time to get a new project on the go.

Now that my five month long story is complete.

Perhaps get working on some jewellery.

My daughter has been making things like crazy and me, not so much.

I guess sometimes we lose our “energy” temporarily.

That’s okay.

Well time to go and put on my eyebrows, eat a bit, shovel and then go for coffee.

So have a wonderful day.
