Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning and It is Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

Another day closer to Christmas.

One week today is Christmas EVE.

Our weather has been wonderful.

I am always so happy when I have a ride home with my daughter.

We chat about our days and catch up with life.

She is the apple of my eye and the warmth in my heart.

Love her with all my being.

We went to COSTCO and surprisingly enough it was not super busy.

There were people but not so many that one feels like you have to duck and dart to move about.

We picked up the items that were on our lists.

I was happy to see several of my items and additional ones on sale.

Then back home, unloaded the car and then she was gone.

Just me and Alvin once again.

I quickly put everything away and then we went for a walk.

It was quite nice out not warm but not cold either.

On the return part of our walk the wind was cold on my face but refreshing all the same.

I just had to return to the sofa for a few more zzz’s this morning therefore have to cut this post short.

I apologize.

Perhaps all of everything is catching up and I am so looking forward to the Christmas break.

We will be busy with all of our extra charges but I will be at home and not juggling work and everything.

Life is good …. sometimes a bit busy … sometimes a bit complicated but that is life.

Happy Tuesday.

I hope that you are having a great week thus far.

Spend some time with a good friend, your children, or just you.

Enjoy.

Life is spent well with kindness and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 3rd day of July, 2018.

The sky is a funny colour and it is raining at this moment.

Big drops.

There is bright clear sky and then these blue with an orange hue clouds.

Odd.

But some rain is most welcome.

Flowers, grass, trees, gardens and CROPS can always use a good drink.

Some days you just need to reflect.

Walking to and through the rain

As I’m walking along,

Pace, brisk as I have set.

The rain softly falling,

from the sky a tranquil blue.

That yellow beacon peeping thru.

Birds are flying singing their songs.

I’m humming a song in my mind.

Humming and thinking of moments —

Times that were wonderful.

Hoping that I may see them once again.

The sun is covered by dark clouds.

Rain begins to fall with passion,

Hard and heavy.

Drops of rain bead upon my face,

As I hasten my pace toward home,

I’m soaked through but no matter,

Dry clothes await me.

Rounding the corner I’m almost home.

There I will be dry – still thinking of those treasured times.

Wishing you were here – with me.

Have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to: my sister, shopping LOL, hope you had a great weekend.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 11th day of June, 2018.

The wind is howling this morning and it feels COLD in the house.

I took this day as a vacation day so slept in this morning.

Besides who wants to get up early when it is raining and windy, not me for sure.

Especially when there is not a good reason.

Just snuggling under the blanket with me, Alvin, well that is the perfect thing to do when it is storming outside.

Not to complain as we did need to the moisture

The wind is just knocking the trees and everything about.

I am very happy that I moved the flower pots closer to the protection of the house.

Forecast is for another day of rain and tomorrow the sun is supposed to shine in between cloudy periods.

A nice warm shower will feel great this morning.

Might have to stay in there for an extra minute or two.

My daughter has today off as well.

It is her regular day off work.

We have plans to get together.

Will be nice to have her company.

Well June is turning out to be a mixture of weather.

I think so far May was warmer than June.

It is true that we Canadians spend a great deal of time conversing about the WEATHER.

Either it is COLD or it is HOT.

Either the winter is long.

Too much snow and or ice.

TOO windy.

Too much rain and not enough sunshine.

We talk about weather more than any other subject for sure.

Just had a call from my girl and she will be on her way shortly.

Guess that means that I had better get my poop in a group and jump into that shower.

For some reason “I think to say get my poop in a group” ….. it brings a smile to my face.

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: my sister … who always brings a smile to my face and has nothing to do with getting one’s poop in a group….. giggling and smiling here.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 17th day of March, 2016.

It is going to be a solemn St. Patrick’s Day for me with the recent passing of our sweet Penny.

My four-legged Grand-puppy …..

She has, and will always be in our thoughts.

It is always difficult to proceed after the passing of a loved one.

The first steps are always the hardest.

Seems strange to be going to work but it must be done.

Definitely is not an easy time.

I keep telling myself it is okay to be okay.

It is okay to smile and to be okay.

Your strength is what pushes us on.

Keeps us going.

Penny is not my first loss, and unfortunately will not be the last.

We grieve in our own ways.

It is most difficult for Penny’s Mom and Dad and for Elton.

She was a part of their daily lives ….. everything reminds them of her ….

It will be a long process but they will heal over time.

With the memories of her sweet face and her energy filling their thoughts.

I am grateful to my friends and family at this time for their support and kind words.

I hope that today is a good day for you.

May the sun shine down upon you on this St. Patty’s Day of 2016.

May your life bring you smiles and laughter.

May the memories be a reminder of goodness and light.

Happy Thursday …..

Special Hello to: all the little angels …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 17th day of January, 2016.

Yesterday was one of our coldest days of the winter.

The kind of cold that sucks the breath out of you.

We did not go for our usual walk …. thought it was just too cold.

So Alvin just went on very many short trips out to the backyard.

Sometimes just to go pee and sometimes to take his chew treat for a walk.

I say for walk because he has I think three out there and two are in plain sight.

Others he buries in the snow.

He looks so cute with his nose and face covered in snow.

One of his favourite things to do, I would say is to bury chew treats.

At least in the winter the treats when he does bring them into the house are clean unlike in the summer.

Well you can imagine…..

I have to chase after him and try to wrangle the treat so that I can rinse the dirt off before he takes it all over the house.

Oh we have our fun.

Actually at one point he brought one in and I noticed this square about four by two inches of white before realizing that it was snow.

I love watching him outside however having to open and close the door so many times during the day when it was bitterly cold did not make this Momma happy.

But oh well.

So today is Sunday …..

In a couple of hours I am going to the Baptism of one of my friend’s two sons followed by lunch.

After supper I am going to a belated Ukrainian New Year’s party at another friend’s house.

She is having drinks and dessert.

This party will be a short one as most of us have to work tomorrow.

In between I want to wrangle Mr. Alvin down to trim his paws as I noticed once again his nails are getting to long and it will be time for his regular pedicure next weekend.

Well I guess time to hit the shower and get ready.

Have breakfast and make coffee for my neighbour and me.

I hope that you have a wonderful Sunday.

Perhaps you are out and about or maybe just hanging out at home …. just have fun.

Special Hello to: YOU ….. thanks for being a great and wonderful human being.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 13th day of April, 2015.

Wow, almost halfway through the month of April.

What a life altering month thus far for me.

It has been a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at home.

You could not wipe the smile from my face or the joy from my heart.

I truly love being at home in my house with Alvin and my family.

The kids are packing up as they move into their new house this coming Thursday.

Excitement – galore.

I can hardly wait to see their new digs.

So exciting.

We will miss them but once again we open to a new chapter of our lives.

I am only at the office Monday and Tuesday this week as I am home to help with the move.

It is exciting to be at home for five days in a row.

Alvin and I will have to get used to a new routine for the two of us.

But we are looking forward to it …. well at least I am…..for the most part.

Wishing you a happy Monday.

May you have joy in your heart and happiness on your face.

Special Hello to: my friends and family.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 19th day of February, 2015.

What a glorious and great evening I had.

Last night when I arrived at the store for my shift ….. I found one of our co-managers back.

She had left to pursue other things but she came back to us.

Just goes to show you that you never know what can happen.

I am so happy ….. over the moon.

She is such an amazing lady and a great co-worker.

Everyone was walking around last night with a extra big smile glued to their face.

Made my day ….. made my week ….. made my year.

Also last night on my walk home I realized that it was very warm and after 9:00 p.m. it was MELTING.

CRAZY ….. awesome.

So between my friend and the weather ….. I am extra happy on this Thursday morning.

Well almost time to leave for the office.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

May someone special suddenly appear back in your life.

Isn’t life great?

Well, yes it is.

Special Hello to: my friend “S” who is back where she belongs ……..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 2nd day of December, 2014.

Only 23 days till Christmas Eve.

This morning as I was getting ready I realized that I was humming a multitude of different songs from Christmas movies and television shows.

The catchy ones ….

The Grinch

Frosty the Snowman

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

There are so many.

I think that some of the most “catchy” and recognizable songs and definitely ones that withstand the test of time are the movies made mainly for children.

The lyrics are rhythmic and so much fun …. ones that you hum all day long.

I must fit in some of those shows during this hectic holiday season.

Also I just remembered I must change my voicemail message ….

I always put on some Christmas music and play it in the background and then give my annual holiday greeting.

Yup …must do that……

Well I guess it is almost time to leave for work.

Seems like we just got home.

I hope that you have an amazing day.

If you have the chance listen to some of those classic songs …. and instantly a smile will appear on your face.

Special Hello to: lovers of all things Christmas….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 24th day of April, 2014.

YAY, it is Thursday.

How are you this fine morning?

I can see breaks in the somewhat cloudy sky.

It rained here solid for more than 24 hours.

I would say that the ground has been moisturized.

Just like applying a good heavy cream to your face and going to bed.

Mr. Alvin and I decided not to walk in the rain last night and instead just curled up on the sofa and watched of the shows that I record.

Okay, I did do some housework ….. it is hard not to …. just lay around …..

Anyway, it was a glorious evening ….. I am very grateful for it.

What do you do in the evenings?

After supper and clean-up is done.

Perhaps you have children and there is homework and preparation for the next day.

Perhaps you have a spouse and you just spend some time together catching up on the day’s events.

Perhaps you are alone like me with a dog ….. most nights it is a walk together followed by a cup of tea (not for Mr. Alvin, giggling).

Perhaps you are surrounded by family and you might take a few minutes to relax …. ” me time.”

Whatever you may be doing or whomever you might be with ….. just enjoy.

Having a nice evening is preparation for a good night’s sleep and a great tomorrow.

So remember have a great evening ……

I hope that you always remember to make each day the best it can be.

Keep your focus on the great things in your life.

You always get what you give out.

Good thoughts ….. more good thoughts.

You know what I mean.

Have a great day my friends.

Special Hello to: everyone who wants their life to be better ….. it can be …. one thought at a time.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for this day….

Mm, well what is the thought for this day going to be?

Well, I guess it will be this:

Go to bed with a smile on your face, and gratitude in your heart.

Wake up in the morning with a smile on your face, and gratitude in your heart.

Have the best day my friends.

Always, Carol ( and Alvin says HEROOOO)
