Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of November, 2015.

The second last day of November …. where did it go?

I think that we say and think that every single month.

Time just has a way of marching on, right!

That is why it is so important to live each day to the fullest.

Now fullest does not necessarily mean that you have to get up at 5:00 a.m. and go to bed at midnight filling the day full of doing things.

Fullest to me, means that when you go to bed at night that you have done your very best.

I believe that living each day to the fullest is not so much about the number of things that you accomplished from your “list” but more about how you felt, and reacted to situations/people through the course of your day.

We all tend to judge ourselves and others.

How about we try not to.

Turn those nasty thoughts and remarks into a happy dance.

Instead of making others feel bad and making yourself look “like a butt” try to make others feel good …. say something pleasant / do something nice.

You will feel so much better.

Just be your very best self.

Be kind …. Be respectful …… do what you can do to that end.

Do not be disappointed or critical of yourself just do better that is why we have tomorrows.

Living each day to the fullest ….. I smiled at everyone.  I treated myself and others with kindness and respect.  I felt good about how I handled each situation and each encounter.

Food for thought.

Now it is time to get this day going …. Mr. Alvin’s haircut and bath were rescheduled to today as yesterday got away on me.  Finish the laundry and have some fun with me Alvin.

Thank you.

Special Hello: to my fellow humans …. let us always do better today than yesterday.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 26th day of May, 2015.

Sun coming up …. forecast is for 27 degrees today.

We almost had a rain shower last night.

The sky was filled with rain clouds …. wind got up but then they moved away.

Someone else got some much needed rain in our city.

I hope that we get some rain soon.

Try to spread some kindness today as you go about your business.

We sometimes forget to be kind in our daily doings.

People say things without thinking about how the other person may feel.

We should always be aware of what we say.

Accidents of course do happen but for the most part think before you speak.

It is something that I try to do each day ….. most days success …. some not.

We all have feelings and what might be funny to you may not be to someone else.

Be respectful.

Time to go to work ….. running late ….. what is up with this …..

Special Hello to: my sister ….. hey sis.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 30th day of March, 2014.

“SAY SOMETHING” by A Great Big World and Miss Kristina Aguilera ….

It is my favourite song ….

One of the best songs ever written.

I love the lyrics …. the melody.

The piano …. I feel each key as it is being touched.

Each word ……

It always makes me cry.

There are some songs that just tug at your heart strings.

They make you think.

They make you feel.

It touches my core ….. my heart …. my soul.

This is one of those songs.

I love it.

I love it so much.

Thank you to these artists for bringing this song to me.

I downloaded it from iTunes and have listened to it about ten times in a row.

I love it so much.

Thank you again.

Today is the day to listen to your favourite song.

Really listen to the words and feel the music.

Happy Sunday everyone…..

Say something ……

Special Hello to:  to all those people who can sing …… and to those who try ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day

I just have to share this with you all.  If you have not as yet read the book “THE KIND DIET” by Alicia Silverstone, please do yourself a huge favour, and do so.  It is the best book and it will change your life.  Slowly over the past year I have been “flirting” with being a vegetarian.  After reading Alicia’s book I have given up meat and fish and most dairy.  I feel great.  There are so many wonderful plant based products on the market in addition to all of the vegetables and fruits and nuts that it has been easy.  I will say the one thing that I have craved is chocolate.  Once I have my pantry and fridge totally converted I will even bake with non dairy products.  I have found that most recipes can be converted.

If you cannot totally give up “meat” and “dairy” – try making a lentil casserole or perhaps a meatless chili.  I will post some of my new recipes.  Give it a try.  Better for you, better for the animals and our planet.

Another sidebar is your grocery bill will be much less.

Ask your local grocer to order any items that they do not carry.

Spend the summer cruising your local farmers markets.  Yummy.  Nothing better than fresh local grown produce.  Love fresh potatoes, peas and carrots.

I would also mention in this rather lengthy “thought for the day” – give your dog a carrot or try broccoli, cauliflower or even an apple.  Alvin, my dog loves carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and apples.  We share an apple at lunch time.

Now that I am back to writing on my blog.  I would appreciate your feedback so if you read my “stuff” please leave a note.

Have a great day.
