The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? Well, I hope. Alvin and I are doing great. We had some dear friends pop by for a lovely visit. Alvin’s best friend Teddy and his little sister Kobi and their Momma. It is always wonderful to catch up with them now that they spend most of their time at the farm. Both the pups were scheduled to be groomed yesterday but the groomer had to reschedule. They were very fluffy puppies. Kobi reminded me of a Wookie from Star Wars. Still cuter than cute. We had tea and visited and then it was time for them to leave. They will be in the City for about a week this time so we are going to schedule a sleepover for the pups. Always good for Mr. Alvin to have his BF sleep over. This morning I have a coffee date with my two younger friends and perhaps in the afternoon if weather permits Mr. Alvin and I may stray over to Teddy’s house. Teddy’s Mom said they had no plans and would love if we dropped by.

The sunrise is more subtle this morning and there remain clouds in the sky. Hopefully it is nice out and the sidewalks remain in good shape for us to walk, meaning the snow doesn’t melt so the ice stays covered.

I sure have been dreaming lots as of late. I guess I usually dream a lot. Wonder if that means anything in particular? Usually I do not remember many details but most times I wake up wondering? Perhaps one of these days I will keep a journal of what I remember when I wake up and see what happens from there.

Looks like Friday and Saturday of this weekend will be socializing and then tomorrow will be tax time. I just want to get them done and hopefully a refund. That is a good thing for sure. Last night I washed clothes so just have to wash towels and bedding but then again, I have enough of both – I could wash them next weekend. I also noticed that my laundry supplies are getting low.

Well, it is time to head off to the shower. Want to make sure that I am refreshed for the day.

Looking forward to coffee and visit with the girls and later with Teddy and family.

Maybe this is the day that you take some time to visit with friends or nearby family. Always good to connect and socialize. Especially in these times of such reduced time with other humans – when possible go out and see someone. Be safe as always.

I hope that you have a wonderful Saturday.

I cannot wait for SPRING. Some of my plants are flowering and that brings a special kind of beauty to our surroundings. Love it. I can close my eyes and dream of many flowers on the deck and in my flower beds front and back.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday.

Another gorgeous day on the way or I guess it has already begun.

Earlier with the door open the air felt actually warm.

First day of vacation for my carpool and my neighbour is sick so catching the bus this morning.

My neighbour was planning to go in but called me earlier this morning and she sounded terrible.

Better she stay at home.

So bus it is.

Last night Alvin and I enjoyed a lovely walk.

The air was so refreshing with no breeze.

We managed to skirt any ice flows.

Great walk.

We did our entire walk for the first time in several days.

Alvin was up at 12:30, 2:30 and then again 4:00 but managed to settle him down until we got up at 5:00 for him to eat.

I did give him his glucosamine chew at 2:30 a.m.

He is resting on his blue blanket at the moment.

He has an ear infection.

I checked his ear and it appears to be okay.

Hard to tell.

I need to get my trusty flashlight out and check.

Well I want to get downstairs and outside to pick up the poop.

Have to leave the house earlier as don’t know what shape the sidewalks are in to the bus.

Hopefully good.

Wishing you a great day.

Filled with love and laughter.

Kindness and Respect.

Happy Thursday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

My beautiful geranium plant is thriving and I cannot wait for it to be outside.

Guess it will be okay on the south side of the house in the sunshine.

Seems to love the southern exposure of the kitchen windows.

It is a NEW YEAR.

Hello and Welcome to Monday, Family Day here in Alberta, Canada.

Unfortunately not a great day to be out and about.

It has been snowing steadily since we were first up about 3:30 this morning.

It is still snowing.

I have shovelled the deck already and looks like it will need another time shortly.

The front is buried in about six inches or so of snow.

I see more shovelling in the near future.

Teddy and Alvin are in the office with me.

Teddy on the blanket and Alvin at the door.

I am so grateful that we were able to take in a nice long walk yesterday.

We saw Aunt J and Kobi out for a walk.

She likes to get her out after she eats so that it gets her going.

Almost all of this weekend I have had an annoying headache.

Go to bed with it and waking up the same way.

Normally I do not like to take any kind of medication when I am under the weather.

Sleeping did not seem to help much so I took some medication.

Actually a few times.

Perhaps I have not been drinking enough water.

I will make a point of watching how much I drink.

It is easy to drink lots of coffee and tea and forget to drink just plain water.

I do know that headaches are a sign of dehydration.

So will watch today.

I have been drinking water since the first time I was up with Alvin.

Also I have been trying to upload/download photos from my phone to the computer.

Some of the photos will load and others will not.

I am trying to figure out why not?

It is odd.

Some photos from yesterday.

The boys being good while I am on the computer.

The germanium my friend gave me has grown and is blooming once again.

The crystal shining in the window.

My glass flower stem in the Spider plant.

Poinsettia plant still blooming.

The boys hanging out.

Last two photos are from this morning, actually only a few minutes ago.

Teddy was on the bed and had the chew treat that Alvin now has in this mouth.

Teddy dropped the chew treat and Alvin grabbed it and ran to the hallway.

Poor Teddy.

Well it is time to go and eat some breakfast and have some coffee.

Then time to shovel.

I have laundry to bring up from the basement.

Couple loads of towels and bedding to do.

Yes, change the bedding on our bed.

Family Day spending with the pups.

Aunt J is coming for tea later.

Well time to get this show on the road.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

Headache is gone.

YAY, yes I know drink more water.

Happy Monday.

Short work week ahead.

That is always nice.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Teddy,.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 9th day of September, 2016.

Starting raining shortly after we went to bed last night.

Came down fast and hard.

No notable thunder or lightning.

Still wet this morning.

But does not appear to be raining at this time but I will take the old “umbrellie” just in case.

So grateful that today is Friday.

Why is it that four day work weeks always feel like two weeks?

I know it is because we try to fill those days with a week’s worth of stuff.

Last night after work I came home to my boys; Elton and Alvin.

They are so cute.

After they went outside and followed by their supper and I got changed we went for the most luxurious walk ever.

Elton loves to take a slow gait and smell every light post and blade of grass.

It was so funny Elton was stopping to smell something and Alvin was checking things out ahead.

Needless to say I was caught in the middle.

It was so funny …..

We had such a good walk.

The temperature was perfect …. just perfect for our walk.

Two nights in a row.

I wished that every evening could be that way.

Well as we are in September it is time to start the fall clean-up.

Start pruning bushes, pulled plants, cleaning and putting away patio furniture and the like.

My flowers for the most part are still doing so well that I think I will leave them for a bit longer.

The impatiens are so full of blooms.

The colours are crazy beautiful.

Just amazing.

I put my “autumn” wreath on the door last weekend as I figured we are in September ….. why not have fall colours mixed in with summer?

After all some leaves are yellow and some are green.

Well it is almost time once again to get this show on the road.

Have to start getting up just a tad earlier now that I am leaving the house 15 minutes earlier.

Alvin and I wish you the best Friday.

Full of love and laughter and abundance.

Special Hello to: my sister …… we have to SKYPE soon.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 14th day of May, 2014.

Okay, really ….. almost the middle of May ….. WOW.

Time ……

I was so surprised when I looked out my bedroom window this morning and low and behold across the street the trees are not just in bud but are in leaves.

WOW, now that certainly appeared to happen over night.

What a glorious surprise.

That makes it official ….. spring and summer are here…..

We have green …. the trees are green …. some of them anyway.

My tree is in the budding phase.

But I am so happy that across the street there be leaves on the trees.

I could just do a happy dance.

Also some of my neighbours have flower basket ( likely from Mother’s Day ) and that makes me happy.

I am so excited to go flower shopping …… plant me some flowers……

Another happy dance.

I love flowers and plants and trees and grass …. green and colour and the smell ….

There is nothing like the fragrance of wild roses.

They will be flowering over the next little while.

So gorgeous …. the pinks.

Can you tell what mood I am in?

Well looks like Mr. Alvin would like to go downstairs and outside.

So the boss has “spoken.”

Have the best day and I sure hope that you are surrounded by colour and delightful fragrances.

Smile …… happy dance ….. smiling ….. grooving to the beat …. of HAPPINESS.

Special Hello to: my friends “G” and “S” who are helping me with the neighbourhood clean-up and also to my daughter.  I am surrounded by the best people.

Always, Carol and Alvin
