Living … One day at a time.

Hello, Good MORNING …. still dark outside.

I brought my remaining plant pots out of the garage yesterday afternoon and placed them on the deck.

The remaining flowers mainly SNAPDRAGONS can survive until minus 8 degrees celsius.

I also have some Trailing Verbena and Marigolds.

They made it through the night which dipped to minus 2 degrees celsius.

The colours are still so rich and vibrant.

The next few days are to be sunny for the most part and warm or at least much WARMER than it has been the last couple of days.

Okay photo time.

I love FALL.

The rainbow of colours on the trees.

I love the leaves on the ground getting all nice and crispy.

I love that yellow blanket covering my lawn.

Yesterday morning the sun was shining brightly.

A breeze arose and then the leaves started to rain down.

I did try to capture that moment with my phone hence all the photos that look the same.

But I cannot help myself.

I love FALL.

I love AUTUMN.

I love that my flowers are still blooming.

I have a SCARECROW watching over my garden and yard.

A few photos from inside ….. the GERANIUM is blooming.

Oh, how I love fall.

NOTE:  the flowers by the fence in the second row were taken as I was waiting for the bus yesterday.

Well the checkup went well.

He even cleaned my ears.

I am prone to excess wax building …. isn’t that nice.

It happens.

Went for blood work.

Tomorrow is the Mammogram and dropping off of the STOOL sample (FIT)

to the lab.

Thankfully all within walking distance of my office.

Yup, successful prepared that good old stool sample at 5:30 this morning.

What a wonderful way to begin the day.

Also with the Mammogram (something new for me) …. no coffee (argh), no tea (argh) and no chocolate.

Oh, and no deodorant before the test.

All the best things ….. so I am being a good girl.

The test is the morning coffee at work.

But I will only fill my water bottle or perhaps have some hot water.

Well almost time to leave for work.

I hope that you are having a wonderful day.

If you have not got around to doing your ANNUAL CHECKUP for more than a year ….. do it.

Best thing that you can do for yourself.

If you do not look after yourself …. you know.

It is something you have to do for you.

Happy Wednesday.

Enjoy the leaves and the day.

Kindness and Respect is what we all deserve, each living being, each creature on this planet.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 8th day of June, 2016.

Today is my last day at the office for the week.

YAY, two days of vacation and I am grateful to have an extra long weekend.

Last  night the skies clouded over and the temperature cooled after a sunny hot day.

There was a bit of rain and the skies are partially cloudy at this time ( 6:15 a.m.).

Last night Alvin and I went for a walk about 8:00 p.m.

It actually had cooled and was not hot.

The Mama, me, made sure to take some water for the boy, Alvin.

I cannot imagine how hot dogs and cats and other animals get in the heat of the summer wearing their fur coats.

Alvin will be sporting a hair cut as of tomorrow or Friday.

His favourite thing to do, not.

Anyway back to the walk.

When we were nearing our friend’s house with the English garden …. Alvin started pulling toward the yard.

Sure enough who was working in her garden.

So we stopped by for a visit.

Alvin loves to roll around in her grass (she has a huge backyard).

He also loves to sniff around as there is so much to sniff.

My friend “P” was happy to see us and said that she had just finished making me up a pot of flowers.

The one flower that I recognized was pansies.

A pretty yellow.

How sweet.

She also dug more flowers out of her garden for me to take home.

Now with the pot and two bags of plants and Alvin and his water bottle.

I could not manage but she had thought of that and escorted us home.

Helping with carrying the pots, bags and we took turns with Alvin and the pot.

After she left I transplanted the flowers in my front flower bed.

So glorious.

Only three of the plants came from other than my friend.

Two were perennials that I had picked up from the mother-daughter annual flower shopping trip last year and the other was from my other friend who happens to have a beautiful garden as well.

I am the luckiest woman, I have the most kind and generous friends, for sure.

Well here it is once again time to grab that sandwich out of the fridge, put on some shoes and grab my purse and out the door.

Must take umbrella just in case.

I will post some photos of my flower bed as I have flowers blooming and it looks so beautiful with all my gifts.

Have an awesome Wednesday.

Special Hello to: my friend “W” who I have missed …… thank you for reading my blog.  Hope all is well with you and your family.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 17th day of April, 2014.

OMG, it is still snowing and it is STICKING to the ground.

Oh, no….

Now what ……

Winter coat and boots again!

What to do!

I guess winter coat but I will do shoes today and hope for the best.

Have you already put away all of your winter apparel?

Luckily for me I left out most things ……  my closet is bursting at the seams between spring and winter coats.

Last night it was snowing when Alvin and I went for our walk.

It wasn’t a gentle snow.

It was wet and the wind was blowing so it kind of hurt when it hit your face.

I figured a short walk was better than none.

Poor Alvin ….. I watch the wind with his eyes.

He has big eyes …… he needs protective goggles when we go out in less than perfect weather.

That would be cute.

Well weather …. it is always a surprise.

I guess it always storms around Easter ….. hopefully Mother Nature will get it out of her system and we will have green grass and flowers blooming soon.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

I will be back tomorrow…..if you are not “Happy Easter.”

I hope that the Easter Bunny finds me again.

I was a pretty good girl.

Also I am going off “sweets” once Easter is over.

There it is in print ….. I said it.

Have to cleanse my body ……

Happy Thursday.

Special Hello to: my sister …. miss you, too.  We should SKYPE ……

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 23rd day of January, 2014.

How many folks visualize the future?

How many folks visualize their favourite dessert?

How many folks visualize company coming?

How many folks visualize their upcoming tropical vacation?

How many folks visualize flowers blooming in their garden?

How many folks visualize a new dress or new suit?

How many folks visualize cheques arriving in the mail?

How many folks visualize extra money in the bank?

How many folks visualize their bills being paid?

How many folks visualize a shopping trip to the mall?

How many folks visualize their next meal?

How many folks visualize clean water?

How many folks visualize a comfy bed?

How many folks visualize peace?

How many folks visualize happiness?

For all of us all around the world ….. visualizing can very different and yet the same.

But in the end all we really want is to be safe, warm and happy.

Special Hello to: my family all over the world…..you are all my family.

Always, Carol and Alvin
