2021

Good Morning ALL! How are you this Saturday morning? Alvin and I are fine and are moving slowly. Went to bed a little later than usual for us and then he of course, was up and down several times. Oh well, we have lots of hours in this day to accomplish what needs to be done. Sometimes you have to change your plan. We never know what will happen from hour to hour. That is our case. So up a little later than planned and that is okay. The sky is a brilliant blue this morning and the trees from my office window seem to be just ever so waving ever so gently. Over the earlier hours I viewed the beauty of the sunrise from the back door, from a lying position on the sofa and from my bed. At one point when Alvin had us up …. I noticed a light in the back and wanted to make that no one was doing something they should not be doing. When I was certain all was good, I went back to lay on the sofa only to find that Alvin had gone back upstairs. So that took a few minutes to sort out. Lay on the sofa or go back up to bed. Never a dull moment.

Yesterday I was able to go after work and pick up both a case of wet food and a bag of dry food for Mr. Alvin and of course the glucosamine replacement (Movoflex), I believe. Also while I was out I picked up some lottery tickets. Just felt like I should have some tickets. You cannot win if you do not have tickets. I would love to win some money ….. pay off the mortgage and perhaps be able to retire earlier than later. A gal can dream. Dreams are what got me to this point so why not. Our walk yesterday at noon was fantastic. It was so warm and dreamy …. felt like a summer day. Life. There are moments we love and cherish and others that we would love to toss into the garbage bin. But we cannot have one without the other. Hopefully more great ones for sure. I am looking forward to using my new Bissell Crosswave and I hope that it does what I need it to do. Time will tell.

Oh, I watched the new show with Katy Sagal as REBEL, the lead character and also John Corbett and Andy Garcia. It was great and I will definitely keep watching it. Something just a bit different from everything else on television. Which is great. Some of the other shows I am now watching are 9-1-1 (which has been on for a bit and I am late to the table, and love the characters), still watching the NCIS shows all three of them, back to THE VOICE after not watching a season or two, Bob Hearts Abishola, and a few others. If I listed all of the shows that I watch, you may think that all I do is watch television and while I watch quite a bit, it is not all I do. LOL.

Well I guess time to change the bedding and get dressed. There are bills to pay and a pup that appears to want me for something. My needy guy. I love him despite the fact that sometimes he drives me a bit off the deep end. But that can be said for any relationship, right! Oh well.

Continuing to live this life with respect, compassion, kindness and patience.

Always, Love Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 21st day of September, 2018.

This morning Mr. Alvin decided that we needed to be up at just after 3:30 a.m.

It was raining at the time and within minutes the rain turned to snow.

Now the snow is sticking on the deck and the grass.

The front sidewalks and street are wet only.

This morning I am catching the old bus as my carpool is taking a mini vacation.

I grabbed my boots from the closet in the basement last night thinking that I would be prepared just in case.

We all know that if you have your boots in the closet and ready that you would not need them.

So now I sway between wearing them or not.

Boots or no boots.

I don’t need them because of the snow accumulation on the sidewalk but do I want to wear my shoes in this.

Perhaps not.

I will wear my boots and carry my shoes.

Done.

Decision made.

Pretty good for not even 6.15 am. on a Friday.

Tonight after work my darling daughter is picking me up and will come for supper.

We have to stop at the Vet and pick up food and stuff for Mr. Alvin and then a quick trip to the grocery store.

Then home ….. to enjoy a visit and supper with my girl.

Perhaps I should go now and catch the earlier bus.

I am almost ready …..

I guess you will not mind if I cut this short?

Thank you.

If it is snowing or raining or both where you are …. drive and walk carefully.

Take extra time to get wherever you are going.

Likely bridges with an incline will be a bit slick.

Happy Friday everyone.

Take care.

Mr. Alvin and his massages ….. he does love them.

I guess our muscles need a gentle massage after a certain age.

Special Hello to: my friend V, who is one of the busiest, kindest women I know.  Have an awesome day.  V, remember to take some time for you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 1st day of September, 2018.

YAY, it is a three day weekend.

The sky is overcast and it has been raining overnight.

There is wind blowing.

It is cool outside.

It is 66 degrees F in the house.

I guess that might be why I kept going back and snuggling under the blankets.

It was a long week and sometimes you just need to rest.

Last night after work Alvin and I walked over to the Vet and picked up his food, toothpaste and a bag of dental chew treats.

Followed by a walk with our friend.

We left home at 4:20 p.m. and arrived back home at 6:00 p.m.

There was a short break at home while we dropped off the purchases from the Vet, called our friend and grabbed Alvin’s water bottle.

No all of that time was not walking but most of it.

We did have to take a sit down as Mr. Alvin just did not wish to go.

Finding a bench nearby we sat and I scooped Alvin up onto my lap (he is not really a lap dog, for sure).

We had a chat while Alvin rested.

Over the course of our walk we came across another friend that I had not seen in a long time.

My friend P had met her while out and about so we all had a nice visit.

She was busy doing some yard work.

After we got home I gave Mr. Alvin his supper and then decided to mow the back lawn.

The little patch of grass seems to grow like mad.

Knowing that there is rain in our forecast figured it was a good idea to do.

Also my STEEPED TEA order arrived so I separated and packed the orders.

We had a nice evening but short …. at 8:30 p.m. I was ready for bed.

We both were ….. Alvin decided at 4:00 that he need to get out of bed…..argh….so up we were.

Then headed back to the sofa until a few hours later when we got up and he had his breakfast.

Sometimes you just need to chill….. I love my sofa.

WE are heading into a couple of weeks of cooler temperatures.

14-18 days (wonder what the night temperatures will be).

Last year going into the long weekend it was hot but there was rain.

Well I guess I need to get this show on the road.

I need some coffee and to get organized.

See what is on my HONEY DO LIST (which is the list that I write for me to do and ask nicely).

I will post some photos of my flowers and sunflowers.

Who are still doing great.

Oh, how I love flowers.

Have an awesome Saturday.

Happy 1st of September.

Special Hello to: all those folks out there who are like me, just getting mobile.  It is okay.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 2nd day of June, 2018.

The sun is shining bright and the wind is blowing.

The end to several days of off and on rain.

We were grateful to have the moisture.

Noticed on our front lawn this morning some little yellow flowers.

Dandelions.

They are on my half of the lawn.

So pretty but considered to be a “weed.”

The lawn is too damp to mow at this time but perhaps later in the day.

The grass has grown so tall in spots.

YAY, get to mow the lawn.

I would like to share something with you all.

Last night when I was on FB Messenger, I was chatting with my daughter.

We were going back and forth.

Then all of a sudden there was a second chat box appeared and I read the message.

I wondered why my daughter would still be at work after 5:00 p.m. but continued in haste without looking at the top of the message box.

So I quickly replied to her message taking into our previous conversation.

GUESS what ….. I replied to one of my friends with a message that was funny to me and my daughter but CONFUSING to my friend.

When she replied back and I realized what I had done.

I was laughing so HARD that I almost peed my pants.

OMG, how could I have been so careless.

It was not private but private enough.

I am quite certain that my friend is still baffled by the note even thought I tried to explain.

Next time I see her I can go into proper detail.

Anyway, NOTE TO SELF, when replying to someone on FB, make certain that you are talking to the same person.

I do know that a second chat box means a second conversation but somehow last night after work, tired, I did not think of that.

Anyway, it still brings a smile to my face.

I should check with my daughter to see if I could somehow use the details as it was SO FUNNY.

I still cannot believe it.

Be careful when hosting two conversations on FB messenger at the same time.

Well still on “pet patrol.”

Alvin was up at 5 a.m. therefore his Momma was up at the time as well.

After I looked after him with breakfast and outdoor visit; I went over to look after Humphrey and Cinder.

Yup, 5 a.m. ….. needless to say after that it was back to the sofa.

It was very foggy and calm at 5 a.m….

Well after I finish this post, drinking my mug of coffee and getting dressed; we are off to the VET.

Alvin requires more food ( I wonder why? ) and some glucosamine.

Then home and laundry and some cleaning.

Once it is dry enough I will mow the grass out front.

So off to another Saturday ….. lots to do.

I hope that you are enjoying the weekend so far.

Happy Saturday.

Special Hello to: my friend “V” who always gives me hope that I can do anything.

Always, Carol & Alvin
