Second Half of the NEW YEAR – last quarter.

Good Morning All. Welcome to Friday morning. Do you believe in Angels? So I have my photo library running as my screensaver and desktop. When I turned on my computer and then went about brushing my teeth etc. while things loaded, I came back and sat down to go into WORDPRESS and the first photo that appeared on my screen was a photo of my Mother pregnant with my youngest brother and then a photo of my second youngest brother. Both my Mother and second youngest Brother have passed away. They both passed away many years ago. My eyes opened so wide when I saw them. Perhaps they showed up just to let me know that I/We are going to be okay but whatever the reason, I am feeling pretty great at this moment in time. Grateful that I have so many beautiful photographs of my Mom and my Brother. Ones that I have out and can see each and everyday of my life. What a good way to begin one’s day.

Great to wake up and see no additional snow on the ground. Actually I should say that I am grateful to wake up period. That is always a good start to any day. I am grateful for my life despite some hiccups along the way. Let’s face things honestly ….. no one has the perfect life. There are always going to be times when life seems to be throwing balls of crap in our direction. Most times we are directing that said crap in our direction whether we acknowledge it or not. If we think that life is great, that we are grateful for each breath, for each day, for our homes and our families, for our jobs, for everything ….. and really mean it ….. then life will and is pretty great. Not to say that there are not problems/issues/situations that arise but you can get through them by showing gratitude. State it and get over it. Somedays work drives me crazy but on the other hand I am over the moon grateful that I am employed and that I can work from home. I am grateful that I earn a decent salary and can afford to live in this house, our home. More positive than negative. I guess we can always look at the pros and cons in any situation. If we are honest.

Well it is getting on here and I have to get that coffee perking. I prepared the coffee and it is ready to be plugged in. Love the smell of coffee perking.

I am excited for another weekend. So excited that next weekend is Halloween and Christmas decorating. So excited. Possibly should get out and pick up some fresh produce. Our stock is getting low.

We wish you a good, no a great day. May you be surround with love and laughter, support and compassion, kindness and respect.

I/We remain, As Always, Carol & Alvin

PS: have to investigate the memory with my phone and photos and all of that so that I can share some recent photos. I miss sharing them with you.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 4th day of March, 2017.

Wow, it looks like a snow globe here in Edmonton this morning.

The once almost bare covered ground is now completely covered.

Winter, Part II.

As you may have noticed I have been away for several days, actually the first three of March.

I have had probably one of the worst colds ever for me.

I missed three days of work (argh, not happy about).

So yesterday was the first day in over a week that I actually felt closer to being a human being.

I wasn’t sneezing and blowing my nose every few seconds.

Today, better yet.

So by Monday, this thing should be in the past.

My friend “V” sent me an ever so sweet “care package” ….. which was so thoughtful.

She is the best person.

It will take awhile to eat all of the items in the package as it was huge.

Alvin, our dear boy, well he got a packet of treats as well.

I attempted to take a video of him opening his gift but it did not work out.

He was super EXCITED …… the sounds he made ……

This morning friends called to see if I would like to accompany them to the grocery store and I said “yes, thank you.”

My fridge is bare of fresh produce and my body is craving a salad ….. and fruit.

I was going to give Alvin a hair cut and bath but have rethought that action and might just wait until next weekend or tomorrow.

Well I just wanted to say hello and write something as it has been so long.

I missed writing.

Time to call my neighbour and see if she would like a cup of coffee, as I would.

Breakfast – homemade bread made into toast with honey.

Does not get better than that.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Special Hello to: all my friends and family who missed my blog …. thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 22nd day of July, 2016.

It is sightly cool but super refreshing with a low hanging cloud bank to the south and sun coming up bright and boldly to the east.

There are birds chirping and cars humming down the highway …. for some reason this morning the sound is magnified.

We were up extra early as my friend left this morning for home.

The house seems empty without our company.

Oh, yesterday she whipped up a batch of vegetable soup before she went to visit her brother for the day.

How many people in between things just whip up a batch of soup?

I am so blessed.

One of my neighbours is away so she asked me to take all of the fresh produce home and use up.

So my friend knew I was concerned about some items spoiling before I could use it all.

So she made me a big pot of soup.

The house smelled incredible when I got home from work yesterday.

I shall miss her and both Alvin and myself will treasure this visit always.

I love having company.

Sister, do you hear me!!!

Today the latest in the Star Trek series of movies is coming out.

I would love to go and see it but the theatre will be crazy busy so I will wait and hopefully I can see it at the theatre before it leaves.

That movie is always great to see on the BIG screen.

Tonight one of my neighbours is having an Open House for her Steeped Tea business.

She signed up under me so to speak.

So I want to support her and will go over for her Open House.

We have a pancake breakfast at work today and I will be leaving to attend it shortly.

Once the breakfast is over we can go to the parade for our city’s exhibition/fair or just go home.

I am electing to go home as I have a list a million yards long to get started with …..

There be tea tasting and garage sale and laundry in my future.

Mostly all fun.

Well time to get this show on the road.

I am so grateful that I was able to host my friend’s visit to Edmonton.

Happy Friday everyone.

Special Hello to: all those people visiting family and friends, thank you.
