Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 8th day of July, 2016.

It is partially overcast and breezy here in the City of Edmonton this morning.

YAY, it is the weekend.

So excited for this one.

Time with Alvin, tea tasting with my team leader and team mates, coffee with my girls and a visit from my daughter.

Does not get better than that.

In between I had better get some laundry and cleaning done, ah, do I have to???

Last night one of my neighbours have me a hair cut.

It has been awhile since I actually paid for a hair cut.

Normally I do it myself.

But I was feeling like I needed to treat myself and so I did.

She was going to charge me $25.00 (came to my house) but was late getting here so only charged me $20.00.

Close to being FREE, gotta love that.

I feel so refreshed and free and NEW.

So today I am going to present a new me and a cheery fresh outlook …. get back to me.

Sometimes all it takes is a hair cut to get you back on track.

I feel GREAT this morning.

So that is my thought for the day ….. try something new or just do something you have not done for awhile to refresh your outlook.

Something that will give you that little boost to get going.

I honestly have felt blah, not sick or anything, just that my get up and go had got up and left.

Now is that not a mouth full.

But so true.

If you do not have that get up and go ….. it is hard to do anything other than what you immediately have to do and even that is a strain.

But I am back ….. better than usual.

I feel GREAT.

So here we are once again ….. almost time to leave for work.

Oh, great news.

My friend “V” from Regina …. the one that bakes a wicked biscotti and I mean the most delectable creation on this planet and her treats for Valentine’s and Easter were to die for ..

Well anyway she is coming to  Edmonton to see her brother and she is going to spend some nights with me.

I am so excited.

A visitor.

Well gotta run.

Life is so good.

Something even more wonderful is coming, I can feel it.

I could not before but it is coming …. a dream fulfilled, I think, I know.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 23rd Day of May, 2015.

It is a gloriously beautiful sunny fresh morning here in Edmonton.

In a few minutes my daughter and grand-puppies will arrive.

They are coming for coffee and a visit.

Alvin will be returning home with them as today is furnace cleaning day.

I was also invited to a “STEEPED TEA” party at a neighbour’s house so will try and attend.

Also check in on Miss Aussie …..

Lots to do.

Last night Alvin and I went out for a later than usual walk.

It all started with him at the top of the stairs.

He doesn’t like putting his harness on …. even though his Momma handles it all with care.

I noted “his girlfriend” Abi had gone by earlier and was hoping that the mere mention of her name would bring him running.

Did not happen.

So when I saw Abi and her Mom going by I went out to say hi and asked Abi to come in knowing that would bring him down.

IT WORKED.

I grabbed his harness and we were out the door.

After a short visit with them we were on our way.

We were a few doors away from home when I stopped another friend out watering her grass.

We stopped for a chat and ended up visiting on her back deck.

As the sun was starting to go down I figured we had better get on our way.

Approaching the park near our house I saw in the distance a large black dog and his Dad.

So I decided to walk around the park inside of going into it until I realized it was our friends.

Into the park we went.

The large black dog is CASH and he is only three.

He loves to play.

So visiting again …..

We then decided as the mosquitoes were starting to get bad to walk home.

They live down the street by our house.

Once we got to their house …. guess what.

We stopped once again ….. we got home at 10:30 and I think it was just after 8:00 when we left ….

It was a glorious evening and so nice to be out and about.

We both enjoying the time with our neighbours and friends.

I am so blessed to be surrounded by great folks.

Make sure that you get to know the people around you ….. spend time with them.

On those spring and summer evening when you are out and about …… stop for a visit.

Well time to get going …. gotta check on Miss Aussie before the company arrives.

It will be a day of yard work once the furnace is cleaned ….

I am pulling some shrubs, mowing grass and watering.

Thought for the day…..

Good Wednesday Morning and Welcome to the 5th day of June, 2013.

It is a gloriously beautiful morning here in Edmonton.

Earlier when Alvin and I were out for our morning stroll the air was filled with the smell of slightly fresh cut grass and there was a crispness surrounding us.

The birds chirped and sang their songs ….. a bunny hopped by and disappeared into a neighbourhood on the other side of the lake.

As we walked the sun rose higher and higher those brilliant colours filling the morning sky.

Truly the early morning is so great.

 

So my thought for this day is this:  if your pet could talk …. so that you could understand him/her…..what do you think they would be saying?

I can only guess about the words and thoughts that would be flowing from Mr. Alvin.

Somedays it would be “Ah, come on.  Please play with me.”  or maybe “quit being so chintzy with the vegetables” and of course I am more than generous.

He is quite spoiled…..which is likely not a great thing but I look at it this way.  My daughter was spoiled with whatever I could give and do for her (which wasn’t lots by today’s standards).

Oh well, I can only imagine what he would say.

Likely somedays he would just be laughing ……

I know that his sneezes are when he’s not getting his way ….. or he wants something faster than I can deliver.

Maybe if we pay closer attention to what is going on we could figure out what they are thinking.

I love my Alvin no matter what he thinks or does.

He is so cute.  One quick story.  Several weeks ago I slipped on some ice ….. sprained my knee …. I went to physiotherapy and was given exercises to do which I have been doing ….. anyway some of them I do on my (our) bed ….. every time I move the pillows to lay down and do them …. he jumps up … walks over to my face …. licks it …. and then snuggles right close…… same thing every time.  So cute.  Ah, my boy.  He loves his Momma.
