2021

Good Morning ALL. How are you this morning? I am, we are well. Or at least I think so. Mr. Alvin was up at 2:00 a.m. which was super early considering I stayed up until 10:00 p.m. watching THE SECRETS OF THE ROYALS. I enjoy learning not necessarily secrets but the historical references that are made along the way. Seeing the photos. I have always been a fan of Queen Elizabeth. She is one of a kind and none of the family will ever replace her, and I doubt that they will even try to mimic her style.

Well the temperatures for this week are still super cold. I think that I may have to pay a visit to the vet with the boy. I don’t think he will wait until next week, I am hopefully but don’t know. His nails are super long and he is dragging his butt which is a sign that his anal sacs need to be “cleaned.” Okay more information that we needed to hear on a Monday morning. He is barking and looking at me woefully. So this will be really short and I apologize in advance.

The sun is already starting to rise. Of course it is almost 7:45 and I am running quite late. Usually by now we are downstairs and I have the coffee perking and the work computer turned on. Not today.

We had a good weekend and I am happy for that. Teddy went home about 1:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Kobi and her Mom came to pick up Teddy. Always great to see Kobi. She is such a little dolly. I love how she stands on her hind legs and peers out the window. She always wants to look you straight on in the eyes like she is reading your soul and perhaps she is.

Well time to fly. I wish you a great Monday.

With kindness, respect, compassion and of course patience ….. life will be good.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 26th day of February, 2019.

Another COLD blast of winter again this morning.

Yesterday though the temperatures did warm enough and we managed to get a walk in after work.

Alvin and I walked over to see Teddy and his Aunt J.

It was good to go inside and visit and warm up.

I am always happy to see them.

Teddy lights our world.

He runs and is so happy to see us.

Sometimes he jumps into my arms.

This morning was the fastest that I have ever seen Mr. Alvin “pee.”

I know that is perhaps a bit personal or too much information but gives you an idea of how cold it is this morning.

Forecast was for minus 44 with windchill this morning.

YIKES.

He wants to go out but every time I open the door he breathes in the cold air, I see his breath, and comes back.

So might have to put on his winter coat and go out with him.

I wished that he would wear boots.

Perhaps I should try and put some socks on his paws, just to see what he will do.

I am making an assumption that he wouldn’t like little boots/socks but perhaps he wouldn’t mind.

He will need to “poop.”

Okay, sorry, too much information.

But even though it is serious business there is an element of humour there.

Sorry Mr. Alvin …..

We will ALL be so happy to have spring.

I can only imagine what the wildlife are going through at this time.

Between frigid temperatures and so much snow.

I wished that I look after them all.

The bird, the bunnies and the deer.

Now once again they are stating that during the day it will warm up again with tomorrow being minus 3 or 4.

I would say that might feel like “shorts” weather if I were so inclined.

It has been such a long COLD winter and I am afraid that I need to get some exercise in but it is hard to get motivated.

Well I should go and see if I can get him outside to do his business.

Poor guy.

Thankfully he wouldn’t let me trim his paws too much.

Please ensure that all PUPS are indoors on these cold days.

If you have a neighbour or know someone who leaves a doggie outside, please report this to the authorities.

This is not acceptable behaviour.

Thank you.

Have an awesome Tuesday.

Please keep warm and safe.

Special Hello to: my friend “W” …. thanks for reading.  Drop a line.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 7th day of February, 2017.

Another blast of frigid  temperatures again today.

Last night the weather channel said minus 29 degrees celsius for this morning and I believe that would be without any wind chill.

YIKES.

We have ran the gambit of temperature ranges this winter.

When it is super cold out I find that it is hard to think of anything else but keeping warm, eating and sleeping.

Perhaps we were meant to hibernate?

What do you think?

I like the idea of a long sleep but not quite that long.

This morning Mr. Alvin wanted to sit on my lap.

The only thing was that I was still eating my oatmeal.

So it was not because he really wanted to snuggle but rather because he was drawn to the yummy smell of my breakfast.

What a guy?

I did take the opportunity to snuggle even though he was more interested in my breakfast.

Well it is almost time once again to make the trail to the bus.

Thank goodness for warm boots, coat and gear.

Perhaps an extra scarf this morning.

I hope that you are warm and safe wherever you are in this world.

Have an awesome Tuesday.

I hope that you have an “Alvin” to snuggle with ……

Special Hello to: Baby Milo, Grandma forgot to check on you last night after your surgery.  I hope it went well.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 5th day of December, 2016.

Well I can safely say that Edmonton now has winter.

It snowed like there was no tomorrow late yesterday afternoon early evening.

Looked like a giant snow globe had been placed over my neighbourhood.

By about 8:00 p.m. it slowed down but in its’ wake we got about six inches or so.

Hard to tell.

I did shovel once in the middle of it all and now I could shovel again.

It was wonderfully light and fluffy snow.

The kind that makes shovelling quick work.

It is minus 16 degrees celsius or so at this time.

The wind is howling so I will make certain to wear my longest winter coat, put up my hood and wear my scarf.

Yesterday I finally was able to complete my Tribute to our Beloved Elton.

As is all things after it was done and published on this site; I thought of so much more that I could have said and should have said.

Like this guy absolutely loved car rides and would sit proudly on his car seat looking out of the window.

Always sitting proper and not fussing about.

When Elton walked …. so cute…. he had this swagger ….. like he was the King of the World.

I loved to watch him walk as we would go for walks together.

Sometimes me, Elton, Penny and Alvin would go together.

The trio made for some fun walks.

One wanting to go each different way.

But I miss those times with all my heart.

There is nothing like the unconditional love of a “dog” …. they are truly our family.

Rest in Peace our wonderful fur babies.

So on this Monday ….. brrr cold.

I have fond memories to keep me warm.

Have a wonderful day.

I did manage to write cards and notes to family and friends at a distance.

More to do …… some every night.

Special Hello to: Family and Friends, Merry Christmas ….

Always, Carol and Alvin
