Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 25th day of October, 2017.

Well the forecast is for cooler temperatures today with WIND.

So I will wear a lighter winter jacket – just in case.

You never know.

Happy Birthday to my friend “C” …… she has the Oiler Flagged Car.

Wishing her a great day.

Guess what ….. she gave me another ride home last night.

Feeling so lucky.

Do little things ….. good things happen to you?

They have been happening to me on a regular basis as of late.

I am not saying that the rest of my life did not have good things happening.

I am so grateful for having a ride home for over two weeks.

I am so grateful to be meeting wonderful people.

I am so grateful for the generosity of others.

I do like to give as much as I can on a regular basis.

Giving always makes a person feel better.

Met another gal walking with her doggie named “Bruno” last night.

We chatted about life and about our dogs.

Alvin and I are so blessed.

Well looks like again (how did that happen?) it is time to leave for that bus.

The days and nights just seem to blend together ….. on high speed.

Going, going, gone.

So have to ensure that you and me enjoy every moment ….. or at least the majority of them.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Take some “me” time.

Always do that.

Special Hello to:  the Birthday girl.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 29th day of May, 2015.

Wow, what just happened?

Where did May go?

It would seem that time is running away.

I do feel as though I have had almost thirty days but the date always seems to be a surprise.

It is a perfect morning here in Edmonton.

Sun is shining …..

Even though I opted to take some extra zzz’s on the sofa with me Alvin …. I have managed to do everything that I normally do in the morning but in much less time.

Mr. Alvin helped out by waking up at 4:22 a.m.  ….. yes.

I am such a push over that I got up ……

Oh well.

Yesterday was an amazing day.

Surprised by a ride to work and then while leaving the grocery store another neighbour came in and gave me a ride home.

What a lucky gal I am.

Well it is getting close to time to leave.

I just wanted to wish you a great Friday … start to the weekend.

Hoping that you are still excited by the small things in life.

Like an unexpected ride to work or home from the store.

I am truly blessed.

Take care and I will be back tomorrow morning.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read my blog ….. your time is invaluable and I appreciate you taking the time to spend with me.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 18th day of May, 2015.

YAY, bright and sunny ….. perfect for planting my flowers.

They have been patiently waiting since Friday to be planted.

These pretty flowers have enjoyed the sunshine on the deck during the day and kept warm at night in the garage.

Another windy day …. seems like another breezy spring day.

Me and Alvin are enjoying our time together.

My daughter and grand-puppies came yesterday for a visit.

Both Alvin and I felt as if we were on cloud nine ….. family ….. felt so great.

It is funny that with her presence I felt light and incredibly good.

Some people just have that effect on us, and my daughter always gives me energy and lightness.

Sunday was a great day.

Today planting flowers …. water the lawn later ……

Enjoying this last day of our long weekend.

Just actually sat on the sofa and drank a cup of coffee while it was still “hot” ….. what a concept.

It was so good.

P.S. reminder to all those folks who turned off the “thermostat” or furnace, and have been cold …. just turn it on. I turned it back on in the early evening last night ….. the coolness was making me feel stiff …… not good.  Soon the temperatures overnight will be what our daytime temps are, and then the thermostat can be turned off.  But for now this gal is leaving it on and keeping warm and limber.

Okay time to get this day on the go…..

Starting with an energizing shower …….

Special Hello to: family and friends everywhere.  Miss you all.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 1st day of May, 2015.

Well I was off to a great start this morning.

As I was writing the first line in my gratitude journal about 5:00 a.m. …..

I wrote “I cannot believe that today is the first day of Easter”

I looked at the words and then started to giggle.

Really, no idea where that came from but it was funny.

What a great way to start a Friday.

Laughing.

Laughing at oneself, no less.

I know that today is going to be great.

Alvin likely thought his Momma had lost her senses.

On top of being the first day of May and one month closer to summer ….. I noticed that it was starting to get light out at 5:30 instead of 6:00 a.m.

Note to self: remember to flip all of my “paper” calendars to May.

They are forecasting some rain and that would be so nice.

Oh, I must share a few of the most wonderful things that happened to me on my first day back to work from being sick:

– a co-worker had written me a hand-made thank you card in appreciation of “me” and two home baked cookies

-another co-worker had returned all of my phone calls from the past couple of days

-others showed appreciation by making sure that I was okay

-others took on a few tasks to help me out

-my daughter picked up a jean jacket from a swap that they are having at her work (she is always thinking of her Momma)

-after work while waiting for the bus I noticed a gal that usually catches the bus with me and who lives in the same neighbourhood …. she waited for a couple of lights to come over and ask me if I wanted a ride home.  She had driven to work.  So thoughtful considering she had to walk the total opposite way to her car.

WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY ….. it was so wonderful.

It is the little things that make a person glad to be alive.

I wish you only grand “little things” today to make you feel as great as I did yesterday.

Have a great Friday.

Gotta go.

Time to catch the bus and of course, snuggle for a couple of minutes with me Alvin.

Special Hello to: my sister ….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 2nd of February, 2015.

Well here we are the second day of February.

It is a bit on the “cold” side here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Warmer temperatures are on their way once again.

YAY.

We sure have been spoiled this winter.

More beautiful days that not.

We sure can handle a winter like this one.

I am not really an early morning jump out of bed big smile kind of gal.

I like the mornings but would prefer to get out of bed around 8:00 a.m.

Alvin likes to get up at 5:00 a.m. to have his breakfast and now it is our routine.

Although we go and lay down on the sofa for a few minutes once he has finished his breakfast it is not quite the same as 8:00 a.m.

To all of us working folk, this morning I salute you all for getting out of people ultra early.

To all of us working folk, who upon leaving their homes manage to put on a happy face and at least utter a “good morning” to all they encounter.

To all of us working folk, who do what we do to do what we do.

Have a great day.

To us all …..

I say we all deserve to sleep in until 8:00 a.m. … that would be nice.

One day …….

Special Hello to: working folk …..

Always, Carol and Alvin
