Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 6th day of December, 2018.

Well I guess we had better start the countdown.

Right!

18 Sleeps until Christmas Eve Day

That means 19 sleeps until Christmas morning.

YAY …..

I have been a pretty good girl this year so I think that Santa will swing by our place.

Now I cannot be so sure of Mr. Alvin.

“Alvin, have you been a good boy this year?”

Nothing, no sound.

I will take that as a resounding “Yes.”

That means the jolly old elf will be stopping by.

I will have some of my world famous, okay Western Canada famous SUGAR COOKIES ready for him to snack on, along with a glass of “milk.”

Can hardly wait.

I could set up a camera and take some photos of his arrival?

Surprise, Santa.

Well today is payday, a dental checkup and mail Christmas cards day and work, of course.

A short work day as I have a visit to the dentist in between it all.

Well the carpool is coming early again today and then tomorrow.

So better sign off and get downstairs.

Cannot go outside without a coat and boots and stuff.

I saw a recreational vehicle with a snow blade on it go by.

It actually looked like a supped up golf cart with a blade to push snow on the front.

He was steaming down the road.

Wondering where he was going?

Our roads are a mess.

It will likely be awhile before the City plows them.

Keep warm and stay safe.

Be kind to others and to yourself.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. hope you are warm, my darling sis.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 13th day of December, 2013.

Friday the 13th …..

Somehow that always conjures up mixed feelings.

I like to think of it as an especially lucky day.

One of those specially blessed days.

Where everything is possible.

Where you can wipe the slate clean?

Carry on?

New beginnings.

One of those days.

Remember yesterday when you had an envious moment or THREE.

Well now you can truly start all over.

Truly you can do that anytime but why not celebrate starting anew on Friday the 13th.

So on this great end to the week and to this new beginning …. let us celebrate.

I hope that you just take this opportunity and run with it.

Be happy …. be kind ….

Do something nice for a stranger or someone you know.

You know that clerk in the mall …. maybe give them a gift card for a cup of coffee and a muffin.

You know that elderly couple who live three doors down ….. pull out some of that Christmas baking and one of your extra Christmas tins (you know the ones) and make up a little treat and to top it off … shovel their sidewalks.  This only works if you live in a place where there is snow.  If no snow …. just give them the “cookies.”

I think you know what I mean.

We or at least most of us have so much ….

We can afford to share.

Actually we can’t afford not to share …

Make sense?

Have a wonderful day.

It is getting closer.

I have been a good girl so I hope that Santa remembers to stop by my house.

I do not ask for anything big ….. perhaps some new socks or a notebook and a pen.

Special Hello to: my sister and nephew who are travelling this day to visit our brother.  Safe travels.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 27th day of November, 2013

Another Wednesday.

Mid week.

Nearing the end of another month.

Weeks before the big day.

Mouth is watering for those special treats.

Excitement is building.

What to do next?

Baking done, well almost (just some chocolate chip cookies for Steve).

No, everything is almost ready.

Christmas cards written, ready to mail.

Letter almost finished to enclose.

Finish a couple of gifts ( hand crafting ).

Wrap things.

With care and course.

Watch some more Christmas movies and listen to Christmas songs.

Whoops I forgot to change my voicemail (telephone) greeting.

Has to be for the holidays.

Time to go.

More thoughts ….

So exciting.

YAY ….. another Christmas just around the corner.

I feel like a kid in a candy shop ……

I have been a very good girl this year.

So perhaps Santa will drop by.

Special Hello: to SANTA Claus.

Always, Carol and Alvin
