A New YEAR 2023

Good Morning ALL! Well it is an awesome morning. Alvin slept for almost 7 hours straight. It was me that woke up twice while we were upstairs. First time up was around 4:00 a.m. and outside where he just had a pee. Then back to the sofa until the alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. Once we were up I gave him his breakfast and outside again where he peed and had a good poop (not quite perfect) with no blood for the first time in a long while. I was almost howling with delight at the full moon but figure that I had better not being doing that at 5:43 a.m. or I would have the lights coming on like back in the Flintstone’s neighbourhood in Bedrock. Do you remember? Anyway, what a great way to start the week. I am trying to remember the time that I gave him last food in the evening, what time did we go to bed, did I cross my eyes and dot my nose, lol.

I realized once I was showered, made up and dressed that the time was later than I thought. 6:24. My ride comes about 7:10 so I like to take Alvin out again, snuggle with him and then finish packing my bag and getting things ready for him. T.V. on etc.

We had a great Sunday. I gave Alvin a haircut and bath, did some laundry, went for a walk with Alvin, vacuumed main floor and washed, made some root veggies roasted in the oven for supper and in the early afternoon had a 1.5 hour chat with my sister. So great to hear her voice and have a laugh and catch up. Been awhile.

Okay time to fly now. I think that good news, no great news can be kept short and sweet.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Containing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and coffee.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Last Half 2022 – August

Good Morning ALL! The sky is clear in the distance but at home there are rain clouds hovering as they dropped their precious cargo over us. The colours are more brilliant this morning as a result of the rain and the cooler temperatures a welcome relief for some of us. The wind is very strong this morning much different than yesterday morning. I love weather. Ever changing. The sky is amazing. I cannot wait to be in the country for a few days. One of the things that I love the most about the countryside is the night sky. The sky is filled with brilliant shining stars. So different than in the city where you might see five on a good night. Oh how I love the countryside!

How about some GREAT news? It seems as of late my news has been all over the place. Yesterday I called Alvin’s Vet and the tech answered the phone. She was just the person that I needed to speak with so I was very happy. Yes, the only changes that Alvin needs to do is FOOD. Change the diet. Perhaps a supplement. No more testing. No abdominal ultrasound. I confirmed that for certain. Yes, she just has to contact the reps for the food companies and sort out which is the best food for Alvin and also find out how long it is backordered. That is the problem with human food and pets alike. Backorder. I have come to despise that word. I get the supply chain, I get it. We have so many options and my Alvin does not so I am hoping that we can work something out. He will need to get on it sooner than later. I recently bought a bag of food which has not been opened yet and I was hoping that I could trade it in for the new food. I guess time will tell. Not likely as it is looking as today is Thursday. He can also take a supplement so perhaps that will help in the meantime while we wait for the food to come in. I will have to phone and find out and then pick up the supplement. I wonder how much that will cost? Michelle, also advised that he will need to have bloodwork and urinalysis in six months. We can do that. That will be during his 14th year birthday month.

Anyway, I can breathe a sigh of relief, actually I did and I did a little jig as well. Alvin must have sensed my joy and became playful. He ran into the living room and grabbed one of his toys, his favourite “teddy bear” and brought it to me so that we could play tug-o-war. The look in his eyes brought tears of joy to my eyes.

Wow, it is really raining out there now. Sure am happy that we did get a walk in yesterday. Today may be a raining day with no walking permitted.

Time to head downstairs. Walking on sunshine or perhaps a rainbow!.

Have a wonderful day.

PS: only 5 days till I turn 65. Will I feel any different?

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! I hope this finds you doing well on this Thursday morning. I am pretty sure a few hours ago it was Sunday but somehow the calendar has now changed and it is Thursday, April 7, 2022. I am pretty certain that somehow time has increased its’ speed and the days are really passing as quickly as they feel to me. Am I alone in this?

This is a sad morning as yesterday we received news from a neighbor and friend that her beloved Jazmin passed away. Jazmin was almost 17 years old. We will miss seeing them on our walks and on our visits. Alvin will miss his friend. She was a sweet girl. Her Momma is lost at this time and I can feel her pain. We shall miss the cuteness that was Jazmin and know that she will be running fast through the fields of flowers with others that have gone before her. Good Night Sweet Jazmin.

The sun seems to be higher in the sky this morning. The sky is blue and there is no wind. A beautiful day by all counts.

My daughter is stopping by to see us after her appointment later today in the neighborhood. It will be great to see her. Alvin is appreciative as she is picking up his food, toothpaste and Movoflex from the Vet so his Momma does not have to carry it all home. His Momma is also appreciative.

I wish for us all that today will be filled with good news. I think that we all need some good news for a change. I am not a super religious person but a spiritual one but today I pray for some light to the darkness. I need, you need, the world needs some good news. The weight of it all is dragging us down.

On this Thursday, I wish you good health, joy, lots of laughter and abundance and some great news.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

P.S. the you know what has almost all melted and the ground is drying up. We are happily walking twice per day and enjoying it so much.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 4th day of May, 2019.

Happy Birthday to a gal who has been family since I was a teenager.

Happy Birthday to L back home ….. have a great day.

The sky is partially overcast but I can see the sun rising with promises of perhaps a beautiful day.

Our sky tells us a story every day of what it will be like outdoors or even how we may be feeling at that moment.

There are times like this past week or two where it has been changing from minute to minute and hour to hour.

The rooftops, decks and lawns are all covered with what looks like a heavy frost but in fact is a frosting of sticky snow.

When we went to bed the rooftops, decks and lawns that we can see where all clear but not this morning.

Summer will be here soon and then it will be time to start thinking about where and what to plant.

My friend P who has the most gorgeous flowers and garden …. has a walkout (basement) full of flowers that she has already started.

They are away to Mexico for a few days so Mr. Alvin and I are on watering duty.

Every day they are getting bigger and bigger.

Once again she will win “my prize” for the most beautiful garden.

She has pansies and crocuses and others that are already blooming and lots of green in her garden.

My front flower patch still looks “not alive” but I am hoping that something will break through as I have many perennials planted there.

Time will tell.

She definitely has a green thumb.

Their home is filled with a wide variety of plants and small trees.

I look forward to watering duty today.

Lucky Mr. Alvin, as she left him a bag of treats so that he could have one or two while I was busy watering and checking the plants.

He knows they are there and gets so excited when we enter the house.

Well today on this Saturday.

Sticking close to home.

Always happy to hear some good news.

Right?

I have some tea orders to submit later today.

Summer Berry Sangria and Ginger Ale my favourite summer drink.

Well the laundry will not wash itself.

Kind of happy to be putzing around the house and getting things done.

I must have had a bug but am starting to feel my own self once again.

Perhaps in part to this weather.

No sun for me is the worse.

I need the sun even though I am not a fan these days of being out in the hot sun for extended periods of time.

Short times are perfect.

Maybe a couple of hours or so working in the yard.

But taking a break is good.

When I was young …… outside all day …..

Have an awesome Saturday.

Special Hello to: all those people who have a green thumb, my Grandma Stella was one of them during her life on this earth.  Missing her.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 28th day of March, 2019.

Can you believe that March is almost over?

Can you believe that April is at the end of this weekend?

Yikes.

Time surely does fly.

I would like to share some great news with all you Alvin and Humphrey fans.

Our friend Humphrey the Cat who had surgery last fall and has had to wear that dreaded cone since that time is HEALING properly according to the Surgeon.

My friend took him there yesterday to be checked.

He can now go without the cone in the evening or whenever she is at home.

Now Mr. Humphrey has perhaps the softest cone on the planet as his Momma is most considerate of him.

So we are so happy for them.

One day in the not too distant future he will be able to be CONE FREE.

Such great news.

Last night I had our “AGM” – Annual General Meeting for our work Union.

One of my co-workers gave me a ride to the meeting and another gave me a ride home.

Humphrey and his Momma came over and stayed with Mr. Alvin.

Not only did she do that right after she got home from work – she took Mr. Alvin for a nice long walk.

I am so grateful to her.

He slept really good last night waking up at 4:28 a.m. this morning and not his usual 2:45 a.m. or about.

So note to self – always good to take a more brisk longer walk.

A few good walks and we will be on our way to shedding this winter bulk.

Perhaps more than a few but we are on our way.

Smiling ……

Well getting close to time to leave for work.

I had better sign off.

I hope that you had an awesome day.

I am so grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful two and four-legged friends.

Feeling blessed.

Have an awesome Thursday.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. Hello.
