Last Half 2022 – September

Good Morning ALL – Fall is upon us as the leaves turn colour and the air begins to crisp. Although this week our temperatures are anything but normal as they are into the mid 20’s.

There is something warm and inviting about fall.

A time to take a breath after the excitement of summer.

Preparing for the next season.

Who shall remain nameless.

In the meantime, we have:

FALL

Soon the leaves will be an array of colour.

I cannot wait.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and coffee.

Last HALF 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? We are doing well. I suppose if I am totally honest, I could have done with a few hours more sleep but it is what it is. Bedtime was in good time last night but I could not settle down. My mind raced as though it were in a huge competition for a large prize. I could not shut it down. A few hours of tossing and turning and Alvin was awake and needing to go downstairs. I managed to coax him to stay in bed but it did not last long. Next thing I know we are downstairs and the clock said 1:30. Yup, 1:30 in the morning but even anywhere remotely close to 3:00 or 4:00. So sweater on, poop bags in pocket and with the flashlight on my phone turned on, we were outside. The air was cool and crisp and lovely. Alvin went pee. Afterwards he walked the length of the fence doing some hard core sniffing and occasionally he would stop and start to paw the grass. I am not sure what he thought that he was finding but there was nothing there. Humphrey and Bogart were inside the house and very likely fast asleep but not me and Alvin. I followed him back and forth as he sniffed at the base of the fence and pawed at the grass. He did not actually dig it up. Thankfully. This carried on for what seemed like forever before I snapped him up and placed him onto the deck. I walked toward the back door as he stood there looking off the deck to near the fence. Something was enticing him. Finally he came into the house. I did not look at the clock but headed to the sofa where we both laid down. Of course, he did not settle down and neither did I. Next thing I know Alvin is up, I could see that the sun was shining through the partially open blind. I picked up my phone to check the time and noticed it was 5:53 (alarm set for 6:00), I got up and went to the kitchen where I gave him one of his glucosamine chews. Next I took his food and pumpkin out of the fridge along with the coffee can setting them on the counter. I grabbed the measuring cup and his dish out of the dishwasher as I walked by to the pantry where I scooped up some of his dry food. Back to the counter where the wet food and pumpkin waited. Next I added the pumpkin and wet food to the dry food in his dish and mixed it together. Then I set his bowl on the floor beside him and then set about to prepare my coffee. First filling the pot with cold water and then adding the coffee. I turned around to see him sitting on the yoga mat and he had not touched his food at all. He was sitting very straight and not uttering a sound. So I picked up his dish and carried it with me to the sofa where I placed it on the floor beside me and he followed. He took a slight bit of coaxing before he ate his food. Then I put on my sweater and my flip flops as I opened the back door and stepped out into the “actual morning” air. So refreshing. Still not quite awake, I followed Alvin as he went across the deck to jump down onto the grass. I took a slight detour and the steps down onto the deck. He did his business and started to sniff again but I took matters into my own hands and turned him toward the deck. I lifted him up onto the deck and then back into the house. In the house I noticed that the time said 6:13, so I decided to reset the alarm to 6:30 and headed upstairs. I quickly made the bed and then laid down where Alvin joined me. We snuggled and I just laid there. In my head, I was saying some affirmations with the hopes that I would feel more rested when the alarm went back off. I will say that I did somewhat. Now it is 7:00 a.m. and I am ready to take Mr. Alvin for a nice walk before starting work.

Work, everything revolves around it ….. money ……. time …….

I hope that you have a great day.

Happy Monday.

PS: Only 22 sleeps till I turn 65. Yesterday was a good day. Mostly relaxing and I am most thankful for that.

Last Half 2022

Good Morning ALL! Thinking that I would change the category name this morning. Definitely no longer a new YEAR. I hope this finds you well. We had some excited already this morning. We went to bed close to 10 and were up at 4:15, so not too bad. Although I can always sleep given the opportunity. By the time that we were up and downstairs and what not, and went outside, it was closer to 4:45 so I gave Mr. Alvin his breakfast. Then after all was done including giving him the second last Tramadol (pain pill) as he was licking his paws and shaking his head. Not good signs. He seems to be okay now. Will have to watch him. I noticed another little piece of fur that must have been wedged in the bottom of his paws had broken free, likely when he was madly licking them. This would have been from his hair cut. I spent a lot of time looking over his paws and pulling out any pieces that had been trapped but it is hard to see, so I may have missed some. Another job which is difficult on your own with a dog that does not like his paws or ears touched. Just more fun in my day to day. Anyway, we went back to the sofa and he did settle down however he decided he would lay across the chaise part of the sofa so I had to move the pillow and lie down on the other part, which is small and I have to bend my legs but I was happy to do it, if it meant he would sleep. Trust me. You would, too. I was dozing off and on when he woke up, I checked my phone for the time and it as 7:48, definitely time to get up and going. I grabbed my sweater as he wanted to go outside and I was in my pj’s. Put on some footwear and grabbed some pooping bags just in case. Poor Alvin has had some diarrhea over the past couple of days but this morning it was almost back to normal. I had given him a bit of banana on Friday, I think. So NO MORE HUMAN FOOD except the pumpkin. Last night for his supper I did not give him pumpkin, now that I think about it. His poop this morning was almost back to what it should be. Maybe I need to cut that out and see? Anyway, time to get this day going.

By the way, I did try several times earlier to download/upload those photos. Something is definitely wrong with the technology as several blank videos showed up on my computer. Three miscellaneous photos. I give up. Thankfully my daughter said she will come by at some point and take a look. Unfortunately not just anyone can look as I have APPLE products and you need to know how they work as they are quite different from others. Anyway, they are having company this weekend so perhaps one night after work this week. I also thought that this was a short week but that was last week, lol.

One way or another I will get those photos to you. You must see her garden. I wished that I was tech savvy.

Yesterday after our very late start, it was raining so we had a quiet morning. I did finish the laundry and later in the afternoon we went for a walk. We were just a few doors away from home, when I thought I heard someone call out my name and sure enough I turned about and saw our friend Joanna out on her porch. So we walked back and stopped for a porch visit. We chatted for several minutes and then were on our way. We made it just inside the park and then he wanted to go home, so we did.

Last night was quiet. The sun came out which was lovely. The sun is out now.

Just after we got up to stay up. We went outside. I thought that perhaps he had to go pee so I had grabbed my sweater to cover, yes my pj’s and headed outside. He walked around the deck for a bit while I went and sat on the edge of the deck that goes down to the grass. I listened and watched this huge crow cawing away and then land on the neighbour’s chimney. He was huge. He sat there for a few minutes making some noise in response to another crow in the distance. After I turned my head to see what Alvin was doing – I noticed that he was looking up. Turning my head in the direction that he was looking, I noticed this big black and white cat perched on the roof of our neighbours garage. Alvin and the cat had a quite intense staring match going on. I got up to see if Alvin would come down and looked back to the garage and the cat was gone. We were both up on the deck and then Alvin made a beeline for the fence on the other side of the deck. Then it was that I saw the cat looking down from the top of the fence. Alvin started to bark and jumped up onto the upper part of our deck and I could not stop him so I quickly followed. He kept barking and the cat was swishing its’ tail back and forth, looking very scary and I was thinking it may jump so I quickly went into the garage and grabbed a broom. I gently placed the broom between Alvin and the cat and moved Alvin away. Finally with the aid of the broom I was able to coral him down the steps and onto the other deck and then into the house. Then I turned and the cat was gone. Alvin likes cats so I was surprised when he barked. Anyway that was our excitement for the morning.

Okay story time over and time to head downstairs and get some coffee brewed. It was so lovely on the deck earlier basking temporarily in the sunshine that I think I may go out again with coffee this time.

Have a great Sunday.

You never know in this house – there be cats – there be good poop or bad – technology issues – sun or rain ……..

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and definitely coffee at this moment.

PS: now 37 days until my 65th Birthday. Thank goodness my birthday is in early August or the summer would be gone, lol.

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! Welcome to Saturday, June 25, 2022. The sun is shining brightly, the sky is a brilliant blue and the WIND is blowing. So happy and grateful to see the clear blue sky and sun shining. The skies did clear late yesterday afternoon giving us a beautiful evening. Alvin and I enjoyed our noon time walk and even had a short visit with our friend Pauline and her husband Al. Her garden, yard is absolutely brilliant, so beautiful and full of colour. The green on the grass and trees from all of this rain is a true kelly green. Rich and wonderful. I gave the back lawn a quick cut last night. Looks really good.

After work last night my neighbour and her boyfriend helped bring over things they are putting in the garage sale for this morning. Sonja helped set things up. I finished after work. About 6:30 p.m. both Signe, her daughter and Gillian came with the remainder or their items for the sale. Actually Gillian brought her items last night and Signe had brought all of her things on Thursday night except for the table and her daughter’s “nail stand.” We spent the next few hours setting up and are ready to go for noon today. We may open a bit earlier but it would only be traffic from the back lane and people would be in their cars going somewhere so unlikely they would stop. But that is okay one way or the other we will be open for business at noon today. We may run a bit later with hopes that more people will come and I have my fingers crossed that we do well and sell and give away everything. We have lots of free items as well. Always good to do that. A wide variety of things as well. Some items I have never had in a garage sale.

Well I am on my way to dust this old gal off in the shower, lol. I am not old. I am young minded.

So happy that it is the weekend. Next week is a short week but will be busy. That is okay.

I wish you a great no, a grand day. Go for a walk. Sell some items that you no longer need or perhaps give them away to someone in need. Meet a friend for a coffee or tea. Call your family. Reach out this day.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and COFFEE. There always must be coffee.

Always, Carol & Alvin

PS: Well it is now down to 45 days until my 65th Birthday. This also tells me how many days until my vacation. LOL

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! What a beautiful morning. We slept until 4:15 and then back to sleep until 6:07 and then well, I fell into a sleep where I was dreaming all sorts of things until 8:30 a.m. I guess I needed the sleep. I have an exciting day ahead. So excited. But first back to yesterday. So it was a warm sunny day. Alvin and I went for a walk at noon. We have started walking to our friend’s house which is about halfway and then turning around and heading home. It takes us about the same amount of time. Mr. Alvin seems to be slowing down and truly smelling the “roses” or in his case each “blade of grass.” He is definitely in the moment and does not want to be rushed. So in order not to be rushed and worry about getting back to work late, we only walk part way. I have found that I am enjoying the walk more this way. We saw the geese in the distance yesterday with their “babies” who by the way are no longer babies. They are getting so big. Sooo cute. The trees and grass are so green. The dandelions have made a yellow blanket across most of the grass near the water and trees in our park. The houses with yards that back onto the park are trying desperately to keep the grass near their homes and their lawns free of the little yellow flowers. If the dandelions stayed in flower and did not go to seed so quickly it may be a different story but alas they do not and people are not happy. I love the little yellow flowers but not so much when they are ready to sail away and seed the world. I had a productive day at work. When it was almost 4:00 p.m. – I received a phone call from my neighbour – advising that she was not going to need her car after all – I could borrow it if I wanted to. So I changed my grocery shopping back to Thursday after work. Once I was finished work which was a few minutes after 4:00 p.m., I made sure that Alvin had a drink of water and went “pee.” Gathered my list and bags and purse, of course and was on my way. The store was definitely more busy than I thought but everything seemed to go quickly. When I was finished picking up and paying for my groceries, I noticed that the Lotto Max Jackpot was up to $70 million again so I decided to pick up a ticket. I waited for a Cashier as they were all busy at the grocery tills. It was only a few minutes before I had the nicest young person. She was so polite and friendly. While she was getting my tickets and I was paying she told me that recently she had two men who had won some money. One had one $800 and one $25,000 – both had said if they won they would be back. Well they came back to “collect” and were kind of rude to her. She said that maybe she had brought them luck and one said no, he bought the ticket? the other said he bought a car. I told her I will be back and I will give her something. I understand the $800 winner but the $25,000? Why could they have not bought her a coffee at the very least. Would have been kind. Oh well, I don’t know their situations and perhaps they could not or even maybe did not want to share their winnings.

Well I have to get the show on the road. My friend Pauline is picking me up at 12:30. We are heading the Bird sanctuary which is across the road from the Botanical gardens where we hope to see a garden filled with lilacs. The scent is supposed to be enchanting. I cannot wait. This will be my first time to the Bird sanctuary and third or so to the Botanical gardens. Cannot think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

In the meantime, I need to get my photos downloaded from my phone to the computer and that could take a bit of time and then delete more from my phone so that I do not run out of memory when I am snapping photos and make sure my phone is 100% charged. Also the shower and get ready time.

Last night at the store I picked up three wave petunias and planted them last night. I cannot wait for them to be grow and bloom. So pretty.

I hope that you have a great Friday. Enjoy the weather.

P.S. I am so grateful for wonderful friends and neighbours. I helped Sonja with an unwanted house guest last night. A wasp had come into her house. She is terrified of them. I am not. I am however allergic to their sting as I had a bad experience as a teenager and have tried to keep my distance since I was stung. Anyway, I sprayed some water on it to confuse it before I apologized for having to take its’ life and then swept it up in a paper towel. I do not have to tell you the rest. I do not like taking a life even a bug.

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this beautiful sunny clear blue sky Saturday morning? I am okay, we are okay. Someone who shall remain nameless, was up pretty much every hour or so last night. He could not seem to sleep. He is sure yawning now. Anyway, that is okay we are up and getting this day going. I have changed the bedding on our bed and gathered the laundry, did some banking and am now writing this post. Followed by putting the laundry downstairs and gathering up the items to give Mr. Alvin a haircut and bath. Before his haircut I will make coffee and have breakfast. Maybe this will be done actually in a morning for a change. That would be nice to have the boy all done before lunchtime. One can hope.

Yesterday at our lunch break walk we found our friend Pauline out working in her backyard. So we had to stop by and say hello. We had a lovely visit. I asked her about my geraniums and she said they were likely in “shock” and I totally had thought that but she also said to cut them down to about three inches so that all their energy can go towards rooting the plants and they should come back. I sure hope so as I had them over for three years and they were so beautiful but definitely did need to be repotted and restarted. Fingers crossed. I also told her about the day where we had taken refuge in her backyard and she told me, anytime you need to, go ahead. I knew she would be okay with that. Most times they would be home but for the odd time that they are not, we have permission. They have such a gorgeous backyard. Anyway after work, I cut down the geraniums and also pulled the decorator grass as I read it is an annual plant. Grass an annual. Surprised. Anyway, fingers crossed it all works out. Pauline has some plants for me. YAY.

After work my daughter stopped by for a visit. She arrived just as I had been out cutting the backyard grass which has been growing so fast with all of this moisture. Also I thought that I was being so careful watching as I thought Alvin had one poop prior to the grass cutting that I had not picked up as yet, guess who found it! Yup, the Momma. I stepped right in the middle of it. So not only did I have to clean my shoe, which thankfully was a flip flop but I also had to clean it up from the grass. Oh, no further explanation necessary it was not a pretty sight. Anyway, I got the sandal and the grass cleaned as I said hello to my daughter and instructed her to help herself to a cup of coffee while I finished. Once I was done we had coffee on the deck. It was so nice. Actually very warm. We had a great visit. We also were looking in the garage and talking about the upcoming garage sale. Amanda noticed a bee struggling on the cement and immediately got a dustpan so that it would hopefully crawl up onto and we could put it in the backyard. The bee crawled slowly onto the dustpan and my daughter placed in close to the water dish that I had on the deck. Still alive, later I moved it onto a pansy. Hopefully it is still alive. We found a dead one in the garage, too. Likely got trapped in there and did not have any water. Very sad. Another reason why I leave some water with rocks in it so that they can stop for a drink of water. They drink water to stay hydrated as we do. I guess likely most creatures do.

Catching up. Then she was on her way.

After that I saw our friend Signe who had gone to Superstore and that is a whole other story. She was there to pick up some things and her daughter remembered that I needed pumpkin for Mr. Alvin. Signe had told me that on Tuesday when she was there for work – they had lots of it – well they ran out yesterday. Someone needed pumpkin. Anyway she picked me up some eggs which I needed. When she dropped them off at the house, she spotted a different sort of bee on the front step. Apparently it is a “carpenter bee” or wood bee as she called it. Yes, not just carpenter ants to eat the wood there are bees, too. Who knew? I sure did not. Something else to watch out for. Where is there is one, there are likely more. I guess the front porch step is ripe for the picking so to speak as it is all wood. ARGH. Live and learn, each day. We had a nice visit in between the bees.

Later after supper and into the evening just as it was storming our friend Gillian popped by to give me a lotto ticket that she had picked up. The lotto max jackpot was $70 million for last night. I am excited to check my ticket and see how much I won. We had a great visit and I felt badly that she had to walk home in the storm which thankfully had started to subside a bit but the time she left. Another great visit.

I am so grateful for all the wonderful friends in my life. They are the best. Oh, my daughter is included in the “wonderful friends.”

Anyway, better get hopping here if I am going to get that haircut done before noon. Okay, even if it is slightly later than noon, still okay.

Lots to do.

So grateful for a sunny day.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. windows open and there is a delectable cool breeze coming into the house, so nice. Better get the downstairs windows open. YAY.

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! I hope that you have been enjoying this long weekend. Perhaps you live somewhere on the planet is not having a long weekend, in that case, I hope that you had a great weekend all the same. The sky is a brilliant powder blue with wisps of white slender clouds dispersed through. The sun is shining ever so brightly. There is a bit of a breeze.

I PLANTED some of my flowers early, meaning I planted some of them late yesterday afternoon – early early evening. After I had supper. I just could not wait. The pansies, violas, lavender, two other plants that I do not remember their names, three tomato plants and oregano. I found that my grass and lavender plants that had wintered in the garage covered with layers of sheets may have survived. The grass is partially green and alive so I pulled the dead spears and gave it a good drink of water. Time will tell. The lavender I wanted to change pots so I placed it in a smaller pot with fresh dirt and water. My Canna Lily seems to be the same as last year. A few long leaves from the same bulb. The same one that wintered in the basement. Maybe a smaller pot! I will just put it back out in the sun and see what happens. Today I will be planting the flowers out front. I have a flower bed that needs some colour. Those good old ferns are coming up. I thought they were all pulled but they are hardy creatures. I will leave them. If they survive and are coming up and green, they deserve a chance at life. YAY. I have impatiens that are pink and then some beautiful begonias. The begonias are a rich coral, yellow, white and pink. I cannot wait to plant them. I think that I will put the begonias in pots on the steps and the impatiens in the flower bed. My daughter gave me some seeds for borage plants. Time to get them into the ground. Also I am changing my geraniums that have been keeping residence in my kitchen since last summer and oh so pretty pink flowers and putting them into bigger pots on the deck. I hope that they do well. Yesterday I put them outside for a few hours. I cannot wait for everything to be planted and growing and the beautiful colours that will be outside my home in the front and back. One plant that I do not have this year is petunias. Perhaps I will be able to get a basket or two at some point and set them on the deck. Love petunias! Oh, almost forgot that I have to finish the back garden. Couple of small bushes need to be finished pulling out or cutting down and see if they come back. There are a few weeks and some dead leaves on some of the perennials which are slowly starting to turn green. It is a space that does not get too much direct sunlight but does get some. I need to change things up in there. In time.

I, we are enjoying the weekend. Last night after just a few hours short of 4 days I decided to abandon putting on the socks when Alvin goes into the back yard. I washed his paws and dried them before bed and put on the salve. We won’t go for a walk today and give him one more day. I checked his paws as good as he will allow and they appear to be healed or I don’t see anything red, which is a good sign. He really was pretty good about the sock thing. Yes, I have photos to share. I will get them uploaded? downloaded?

Time for coffee. Mr. Alvin got me up this morning. I guess with all of the up and downs, my body just wants to remain cozy and warm under the blanket on the sofa. Thankfully Mr. Alvin had other plans and forced me to get my fanny farkle off the sofa. Good thing!

I hope that you have a great Monday – whether you are at home – at work – wherever you might be!

Thank you for reading my post. I am so grateful for you and your time.

Happy Monday.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. I am grateful to be alive, to have our beautiful home shortly to be surrounded by pretty flowers, for good health, for good friends and family, for employment, for sunshine and rainbows, for good food and you!

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! Looks like another beautiful day on the way. It was actually not bad out earlier this morning when we were out in the backyard. Warmer than Saturday morning as there was frost then. No frost this morning. Alvin is hanging in there and me, too. Couple more days wearing socks when he goes outside and we should be okay. I have tried to examine the bottom of his pads but it is difficult by myself. Anyway, we are doing well. I am so grateful for the second day in a row for the sun to be shining so brightly. Thank you for the blue skies. There is a breeze but I think that is going to be part of the norm now.

Yesterday I cleaned out the office closet, went through all of my jewelry (which was huge), went through the spare bedroom, laundry and mowed the backyard. Not a huge amount of things but things done. Today I want to wash down the deck, sort through some of the things in the garage. Then basement left to do. I want to have everything ready for the garage sale. I have a pile of things in the spare bedroom to go downstairs and to the garage for the sale. But will leave them for now. Also do some vacuuming as well. I also moved the desk (table) that was storing my jewelry from the spare room to my room. My room is a bit more full than I normally would like but it is a nice change. I can put it back at some point.

It will be done in chunks as Alvin has to stay in the house unless I can keep an eye on him. Those dratted socks will not stay up all of the time. They slip from time to time. I am proud of them for at least allowing me to put them on his feet each and every time we go outside.

Yesterday there were two little blue/black/white birds flying about the birdhouse that I have in the backyard. It sits up on a pole that sits on the upper deck. The only thing is one of the birds kept flying too close to one of the glass windows on the garage. I was worried that it was going to knock itself out but gratefully it did not.

The neighbours are outside raking their lawn and doing outdoors things.

This is the time of year that most people if not camping for the first time this season that are out raking, going through their garages, getting things ready to haul to the Eco Station (not sure if it is open on the long weekend or not), and all things outdoors.

Tomorrow I am planting my flowers. I checked the weather station and looks like we should be okay for overnight temperatures. YAY. Cannot wait.

Have an awesome Sunday.

The NEW Year 2022

Good Morning ALL! Welcome to a Rainy Thursday here in Edmonton,Alberta, Canada. The sky is filled with puffy dark gray rain clouds and it is windy. Wind is beginning to be typical of daily life here in Edmonton. At least it sure seems to be. When it is calm, we surely appreciate it.

How are you this morning? Alvin was up a few times during the night but that is okay, I am okay. He has an appointment with his Doctor this afternoon. Fingers crossed that the sky clears for us to walk over so that I do not have to bother a friend to drive us there. Thankfully Alvin’s Doctor is less than a 10 minute walk. Sometimes if he is sniffing a lot it can take 15 or so minutes, lol. I walked over after work yesterday and picked up some pain pills and his food and toothpaste for him. Now we are stocked and will not run out. We were not close to running out but I like to ensure that he has more than enough food just in case. Looking ahead, I suppose.

One more day and it is the long weekend. Three days off in a row, how lovely. I have decided that I am going to plant my flower pots as I do not wish my plants to become root bound. I heard that the weather is supposed to be better and warming up on the weekend. Most of the trees are at least partially full of buds and leaves. So pretty. So there is lots of green. I could cut the grass in the back but it looks so nice and green. But anyway no cuts for the next couple of days anyway as it has to dry out.

It is one month till the garage sale that I am hosting. Have to start getting the garage in order. I have some large items to post on the social media so that they do not take up room in the garage. Boxes to break down and some items that belong to my neighbour that I have to chat to her about. I am quite certain that this next month will fly by and I want to have the garage almost empty. I also have to secure a way to the ECO Station as I have lots of things or a fair amount to take there. Will be so nice to have the garage where it should be …. stuff wise. Isn’t it funny how we end up collecting stuff even in the garage.

Alvin and I enjoyed a wonderful walk at noon yesterday. It was a bit cool but most enjoyable. Just as we were on the homestretch there were a few drops of rain so we did not get wet. I have yet to see any goslings and have been keeping an eye out for them. The only ones I saw were going down the street with their parents a few days ago. They are so cute.

Well time to head downstairs. I am only working for the morning so have lots of things to get done. I hope that you have an awesome day. Keep warm and dry and stay safe.

Continuing to life this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. I am nervous to listen to the weather channel as they were forecasting snow for most of the country east of us and even including the city of Calgary which is just south of us.

The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this Wednesday morning? Wow, does it ever seem as though I just said those very words. The sun is shining brightly and the sky is a mix of clouds and clear blue sky. Kind of a ripple effect happening this morning in the sky. But the sun is shining and for now that is all that matters. Gone is the blanket of snow from yesterday morning that covered the ground. The snow incredibly stayed until late morning. It was pretty cool outside but warmed throughout the day. We went for a walk after work and it was okay. Definitely warmed than our previous walk. The temperatures are to be warming and that means only one thing, I CAN PLANT THE FLOWERS THAT I BOUGHT ON MOTHER’S DAY. Hopefully that means on the weekend. The flowers/plants are doing well as they have a nice southern exposure window and are warm and I have water ready for when they need a drink. My kitchen table has never looked more pretty. The lavender smells amazing even though I am congested with allergies. The begonias, pansies, violas, impatiens are all looking so beautiful. There are another two flowers that I do not remember their names. Pops of colour. Orange, Yellow, Purple, Pink and White. My tomato plants are doing well. I need to start thinking about where to plant all these beauties. Some out front while others in pots.

The buds on the trees are turning into leaves, the most exquisite green and even the grass is turning green. I sure wished that our front lawn was green instead of brown. It definitely needs a boost. Even the backyard is green in more places than not.

Soon we shall be seeing the goslings out and about with their Mamas and Papas. They are so cute. Baby ducks, or ducklings will be hatching soon, I think. Spring turning into summer.

I really need a cup of coffee this morning. Mr. Alvin was up and down all night. Quite possibly he may have an ear infection or his paws are really bothering him. I will check his ears and really wished that I could smell better. Poor guy and poor momma with not much sleep.

I hope that you have an awesome day.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilties.

Thank you for reading my blog over the last decade plus. I cannot believe I have been writing these posts since April 2010. Time flies.

Lots of changes and more to come, I suspect.

Always, Carol & Alvin
