Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 10th day of October, 2015.

YAY, it is Saturday ….. WHOO HOO ……

Sun was shining and now is clouding up a bit but the temperature is warm.

It is this weekend that we celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving.

On this weekend, I am grateful to live in my neighbourhood surrounded by wonderful people; grateful for a wonderful City, Province and Country.

Grateful for my family and friends.

Grateful to live in peace.

Grateful that I have Alvin to see before I close my eyes and when I open them in the morning.

Grateful for good food and words.

Grateful for the medicines and the technologies that have got us to this place.

It is a great weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians.

May we continue to grow and prosper.

May we continue to be kind and generous, respectful and compassionate.

This is the weekend to reflect and remember how we got to this place.

To be grateful …..

Time to get this show on the road.

Lots to do ….. VOTE (advance polls), Scentsy party, Alvin’s bath, computer stuff, perhaps rake the leaves again (did yesterday, too) …… the list is much longer.

Special Hello to: family and friends, Happy Thanksgiving.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 21st day of August, 2015.

It is partially overcast with the sun beginning to rise with spectacular colours.

I love the sky.

Well it is Friday and we start later on Fridays in the summer ….

Guess what you would think that I would have lots of time as I am leaving later but guess what?

I hit the sofa for extra zzz’s and now am running late.

Quick story:

Last night about 7:00 p.m. Alvin and I went for our nightly walk.  We got about half way when we arrived at our friend “P’s” house and stopped to chat.  Mr. Alvin really wanted to go into her yard so she let him in.  They have a huge backyard that backs onto the lake and he loves to run and then lay down and roll in her grass.  Anyway he did just that ….. we were chatting and enjoying the evening.  The clouds began to roll in and I decided time to head home.  Just before we left she asked if we wanted some apples from her tree. I figured they would be small crab apple type ones but NOT they were beautiful gala apples and I thought who knew we could grow such apples here in Edmonton.  She gave me enough to make an apple crisp.  YAY, me.  Very thoughtful.  Love apples.

Well I better get this show on the road.

Special Hello to: my friend “p” who is coming for a visit next weekend from  Regina.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Nature in all its glory !

This morning  while Alvin and I were out for one of our daily walks at a nearby lake/park we came across some geese.  There were Mamas and Papas and Babies.  Oh, those babies were sooo cute !  They grow fast.  Seems like only a few days ago they were fuzzy little gaffers.  We stopped to enjoy them.  Then to my utter delight this evening while we were out for a walk we came across those delightful beings.  It has been a great day.  Nature never ceases to amaze me.   The Mamas and Papas have their formation that they take when out with their little ones.  One leads, one on each side about the mid point,  and then one takes the end position.  I might add that they had a rather large family – about “30” little ones.  This was the best day.  🙂
