Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 8th day of December, 2015.

Another absolutely gorgeous morning here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I feel so blessed this morning between the warm temperatures and cuddles with Mr. Alvin this morning.

Some mornings he will stretch out on my lap while I write in my gratitude journal.

It is one of my favourite things in the whole wide world.

He is such a character.

While here we are past one week into December.

Are you crazy busy running around?

Is December busy for you or do you just simplify the whole process and then enjoy the season?

I do my preparations in stages.

November 1st – Christmas Tree and inside of the house gets decorated.

November 1st – 15th – decorate the outside of the house with my neighbour

November 15th – 30th – writing up Christmas cards, sending photos and writing letters to be mailed/hand delivered

December 1st – December 10th – do Christmas baking

December 10th – December ….. the last on my to do list is wrap presents.

We keep that part of Christmas pretty low key now.

I enjoy writing Christmas cards, sending photos and a letter to family and friends.

I enjoy baking and sharing with family and friends.

I enjoy all of the get togethers over the holidays.

Those are more important than presents.

Spending time with friends and family is the best present ever.

On this Tuesday near the beginning of December, I hope that you have an awesome day.

Remember your best gift to someone is you.

Special Hello to: my brother “T” …. I hope that everything goes perfectly today for you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to the 24th day of December, 2014 and Christmas Eve.

This is my second favourite day of the year with the first tying with the birth of my precious daughter and the adoption and bringing home of “me” Alvin.

On this day I am even more grateful for all of the many blessings in my life.

I am in great health,

I have my own house,

I am able to work two jobs,

I have wonderful family and friends (actually the best ones),

I have me Alvin who is a bright light in my life,

I am able to meet new people everyday of my life,

I can write via this blog and reach the far corners of the Earth,

I am alive.

So on this Christmas Eve:

I wish you good health.

I wish you to be surrounded by family and friends.

I wish you much laughter.

I wish you much love.

I wish you great joy.

I wish you the gift of gratitude.

I wish you peace, comfort and faith.

I wish you a Merry Christmas.

Have a great day.

I am going to work at the office where will be holding our Annual Family Christmas Party.

We are usually done just before noon and then can go on with our day.

If you are travelling today – be safe.

No texting or talking on the cell when you are driving.

Use HANDS FREE DEVICES.

Merry Christmas.

Special Hello to: YOU and YOU and YOU ….. you are the best and are important to me and to the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 17th day of December, 2014.

7 sleeps until Christmas Eve …….

Last night I was able to have a quick visit with my nephew on the way home from work.

His physical injuries are healed, and he is starting to acknowledge visitors not verbally.

He turns his head to the sounds and looks in your direction.

I like to think that he knows us.

He had a short beard when I saw him last night and he so reminded me of my brother who passed away near six years ago.

Today is our “department” lunch at work followed by a gift exchange.

Should be fun.

Tonight to the store I go.

So nice to see my co-workers …..

Will be interesting to see if the mall is super busy.

You never know what a Wednesday will bring.

Well on this mid week day I am grateful to be alive.

I am grateful to have my own home.

I am grateful to be surrounded by people who love and respect me.

I am grateful to have this amazing blog and to all those who take the time to read my words.

I am so grateful for my kids and grand-puppies to be living here with me and Alvin.

I am so grateful that I adopted me Alvin those almost five years ago.

He has been another bright light in my life.

I am grateful to be so blessed.

On that note, it is time to finish getting ready for work at the office.

I hope that you have a great day.

Special Hello to: my fellow bloggers – Happy Holidays to you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Tuesday November 29th, 2011 MORNING !!

Wow, do you believe it …… almost December.

Christmas is right around the corner.

Christmas is my favourite “holiday” …. the best time of year.

I love the colours, the excitement, getting together with family & friends …

I just love it all.

The baking, the food …..the shopping…..the TREE !!!

(yes, my tree has been up for almost one full month)

Sending Christmas Cards …..

For those who celebrate this time of year one way or another ….

Merry Christmas.

For those who do not …..

Happy Holidays.

I hope that you have fun in your preparations this year.

Keep it simple …. stress free.

That is what I am doing this year.

Simple gifts …… some cards and baking….

Most important for me …. is to spend as much time with family & friends….

If not in person ….. on SKYPE…..

Remember to take the time……

Special Hello: to my cousin Janice and my high school friend Gayle.

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……

Happy “Terrific Tuesday” Everyone!

I am in the midst of trying to figure out how to decorate my desk at work.

We are having a contest and I really would like to participate.

But exactly how and what I should do eludes me.

I come up with an idea and then think of something else.

Whatever I do, it means packing up the decorations and taking them to work.

So I want to make sure that I think of everything.

Are you like me?

Too many choices?  Too many decisions?

Yes, I think there are lots of us out there.

But on the bright side …. whatever choice or decision I go with …

Well, it will be GREAT ….. because it is all about Christmas.

So if you are in the midst of making decisions about Christmas…..

Remember this ….. Christmas is meant to be a happy, spiritual time of year.

A time where we give back to our families and communities ….

So let us not over think and stress over things….

Have a great day everyone.

Special Hello to:  All those folks who love Christmas …. this time of year….. Happy Holidays..

It is my favourite time of year.  I love the music and the joy in the air.

Always, Carol

Thought for the day……What happened to 2010?

I am so pondering while writing up the letter to be enclosed with my Christmas card about where 2010 went?

It came in quietly, I barely was aware.

It snuggled down tightly and buried within …..

Suddenly March, then April and then June.

But where it did go?

As I watch from above …… July and then August …..

Summer came and summer went.

Autumn well it was spent.

Now it’s December and almost Christmas.

If you are wondering what happened to 2010

You are not alone, I share your sentiments along with another eight billion or so people.

If you noticed at the beginning of this “story” I was drafting my Christmas letter – just so that you know – it did get written and sent.

So from me and Alvin, WE WISH YOU A HAPPY HAPPY CHRISTMAS & ALL THE BEST IN 2011.

May you always be surrounded by a loving family and friends.

May you be in perfect health (focus on good thoughts, they keep the body healthy, too)

May you laugh every single day (even if it is at yourself, because if you cannot laugh at YOU, who can you laugh at?)

May you love and be passionate about all that you do..

May your life be abundant in every single way.

May your gift of smile brighten someone’s day.

May you remember to help those less fortunate.

May you always be the BEST that you can be.

Happy Holidays …..

Always, Carol and a very patient Alvin (sniffing around in the hallway, now he is in the office)…….
