Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning All,

Well no bright sun shine this morning.

More cloud cover than sun.

But no moisture so that is a good thing.

What a Saturday we had …

Started off by the house phone ringing while I was upstairs writing my blog post …

Then checked mobile phone to find out that my neighbour was wondering if Humphrey could spend the day with us from 9-6 p.m.

Of course, yes.

We had a busy day.

Doing laundry, cleaning and changing things about in the kitchen.

Moving a plant upstairs as the kitchen just seemed dark with all three plants in the window and all of the Christmas decorations.

We were in and outside.

In the afternoon we were surprised by Teddy, his Mom and little sister dropping by.

She had sent a message via messenger but I was so busy I did not see it.

She was needing a break from the house with the new puppy, Teddy’s new sister and was wondering if they could stop in.

So both Humphrey and Alvin got to meet baby Kobi.

Oh my goodness is Kobi ever cute.

I made sure to snap some photos.

We had some tea and then Kobi had to go to the bathroom as determined by her Mom.

I did not know the sign.

We ended up drinking our tea on the deck in our jackets.

It was so warm and nice outside, most enjoyable.

When it was time to leave, Teddy’s Mom asked if we could walk Teddy home on our walk.

Of course, I said.

A little while later I harnessed the boys up except for Humphrey and went for a walk.

It was icy in spots but the temperature was warm.

When we got to Teddy’s house we rang the doorbell and met his Mom at the garage.

Reason being is that “Kobi’s Condo” is the front entranceway.

It is a good space with no carpet for her to hang out.

They have it all set up.

Teddy’s Aunt was celebrating her 65th birthday so his parents were going out for supper a bit later.

His Mom asked if it would be okay for Teddy to come home with us and in the next moment he was going to spend the night.

The baby would be okay in her condo.

Teddy is downstairs at this moment barking at something going by and now Alvin.

I guess I will check again.

I checked a few minutes ago and there was nothing.

Anyway.

Well our weekend was full of pleasant surprises.

All sorts of company.

Would you like to see the new addition to the family?

She is our family, too.

You may have notice the little pink harness and a diaper.

Kobi’s Mom fixed up this diaper so that she doesn’t have an accident when she is outside of her Condo.

So cute.

I hope that you enjoy the photos.

She is just so sweet.

So little.

We including me had to be careful not to step on her.

Alvin did run her over accidentally once.

It has been awhile since we have had a puppy in the house.

I guess since Milo.

Well I should get going.

If I want to have the coffee drank before lunch time.

The backyard looks so bare without flowers and furniture.

Happy Sunday.

I wish you the best day.

Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning,

I hope that you are feeling wonderful this morning.

I am great.

We had such an awesome weekend, me and Alvin.

Both of us were able to spend time with our friends.

Yesterday, I went to the Christmas Craft Sale at our friends down the street.

I picked up several items so beautiful and could hardly wait to get them home and find a special place for each piece.

The sidewalk by my house was icy when I left home for the craft sale so I crossed the street which was about six inches of glaring ice.

Thankfully I made it there and home safely.

I love these friends, they are so welcoming and lovely.

Their home is absolutely gorgeous.

Good company, good food and beautiful craft items for sale.

Once home I noticed that Teddy’s Mom had sent me a message asking if I had wanted to go to the grocery store with her and could perhaps Teddy come over

and have a visit with Alvin.

I think that Teddy perhaps needed a little break from his new sister.

My friend had baby mind.

Just does to show you that it does not matter if you give birth to a baby, adopt a baby or have a baby of the four-legged persuasion – they are all precious but tire one out.

I had to giggle at her as needed to fill the car with gas but drove the car on the opposite side of the gas tank to the pumps.

On our way home she turned to go toward her house instead of mine.

Very cute.

But I totally get it.

Not enough sleep.

Can totally play havoc with your mind.

I asked if Teddy could stay and that that I would bring him home but of course, we didn’t have his harness and leash so we had just pulled up to my house, sat for a moment.

The pups saw us or at least I saw that Alvin had made eye contact and then we turned around and left.

We could just imagine that Teddy said to Alvin …. “that car looked like my Mom’s but why are they leaving?”

Went to Teddy’s house and picked up his harness and leash and then back to my house.

The boys were happy to see me.

I was only gone for about one hour (if that).

After I put groceries away and stuff ….. walked Teddy home.

We continued on our walk.

The air was so warm and refreshing.

Back home to make some STEEPED TEA SCONES.

Then supper and then time to kick back before bed.

Here are some photos:

The first wreath I am having my friend recreate for me and instead of the word BELIEVE I am having the owl.

She was going to add the little owl on the second wreath but I much prefer the first one.

This is their CHRISTMAS TREE, how gorgeous.

I love the long wreath on the door as well.

My scones.

Two red ceramic trees, homemade Christmas tree ornaments and the red snowflake and the antique tin in the bathroom.

What a great weekend.

Time to run.

Back to work.

Kindness and Respect of all creatures is the only way to live your life.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 9th day of June, 2018.

Oh, what an absolutely glorious morning it is here in Edmonton.

Alvin was up early and then we went back to bed.

I had wanted to get up earlier than usual so that we could go for a walk before the heat sets in and possibility of storms.

We were up about 7:30 a.m. which isn’t that early for a lot of people but I am up at 5:00 or earlier during the work week and like to sleep in on the weekends when I can.

I opened some windows to create that cross draft as there is a beautiful cool breeze.

Donned my shorts and t-shirt.

Grabbed the leash and cornered the boy to put his harness on.

(He was upstairs).

Usually it is going around the kitchen table for ten minutes (as he hides underneath) before I am able to get him ready.

Anyway, that is okay.

Grabbed some more poop bags, sandals on of course and the keys and not forgetting Al’s water bottle.

And we were off.

The cool breeze hit me as I opened the door blowing into my face and washing over me.

I could have stood there for eternity basking in the perfect cool air.

Locking the house we were on our way.

I admired my flowers in the front flower bed as we skipped down the sidewalk.

Well perhaps “skipped” is more of a term in a musical but we were happily going along.

The sun shining brightly.

We past a neighbour closer to the lake out watering his flowers and said “good morning” to each other.

At the lake the breeze moved the trees and grass around the water.

Each blade of grass appeared to be dancing around as the branches on the trees swayed to that music of the birds.

I have never heard so many birds singing their songs all at once.

I thought I was in heaven or some magical place.

We looked for the geese and their goslings but to no avail.

We saw a couple of ladies out walking with their dogs (one was running).

Stopping to say “hello.”

The smell to the air is better than the smell of freshly brewing coffee.

Er, maybe I mean to say “the freshness of the air tickled my nose and gave me this washed over feeling of zen.

Nothing compares to, nothing compares to coffee.

I love the smell of coffee brewing.

Now that we have that established….carry on.

Alvin enjoyed sniffing every blade of grass along the way.

He also enjoyed a sip of water here and there.

The water shone with a brilliance of polished diamonds.

So absolutely breathtaking, I had to stop and just take it all in.

Both Alvin and I could have stayed there forever.

It was one of the best walks we have ever taken, perfection.

Everything fell perfectly into place.

So now back at home time for a reality check.

Time to change bedding, start laundry, have breakfast and that beloved cup of COFFEE and get things done.

I hope that you all have that magic in your day.

Special Hello to: all those folks who enjoy a morning walk.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 2nd day of July, 2015.

It is absolutely the most perfect morning here in Edmonton.

The sun is shining, there is a slight cool breeze which was perfect for our morning stroll.

I have a couple of days off from the office.  We were up to stay fairly early for a day off.

There were the roses that line our path at the entrance to the lake …. the fragrance was enchanting.

A robin hopped along not grabbing Mr. Alvin’s attention.

The grass glistened with dew looking as though there were diamonds sprinkled everywhere.

What an absolute perfect morning.

I wish every morning would be like this for us.

For now I will take these ones and treasure them.

Alvin just loves to sniff the grass as we walk along ….. not sure what he is finding.

Upon our arrival home and once Mr. Alvin had his harness removed; I grabbed the watering can so that I could give the front flower bed a quick drink. The back side of the bed rests against the house and does not get all of the rain.

My flowers are doing well and so are the little weeds that are trying desperately to find a home.

They are so nice and green.

But …….

We had a great Canada Day …… was just deciding about getting up when the phone rang (deciding factor).

It was our neighbour inviting us over for coffee.

So ate, dressed and went out …. what a great way to celebrate Canada Day….. good friend and coffee.

Mr. Alvin came with me ….. not fair to leave him at home.

Well I had better get on my way ….. breakfast …. make a couple of phone calls and this afternoon ….

I am going to bring out the beads and make some jewellery.

I miss making things …. so much fun and therapeutic.

I hope that you enjoy your day and have time to do something you love.

Happy July 2nd, 2015.

WOW ….. second day of July.

Special Hello to:  all those folks who are on vacation ….. enjoy.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 11th day of June, 2015.

It is warm out but overcast here this morning in Edmonton.

We had a great evening last night me and Mr. Alvin.

Our friends “I” and “N” were riding their bikes by as I went by the window last night.

I quickly opened the door to say hi and to show them which house was ours.

They live a few houses away but we always see them when we are out for a walk.

So we visited for a few minutes and I could hear Mr. Alvin in the house.

He did not wish to put on his harness so at first I just carried him out and set him on the ground between

us so that he would stay.

Alvin squeaked and squealed with excitement over our friends.

Unfortunately that did not really go well … so I picked him up ….

I guess I need to lift more weights …..

I held him for all of our visit until near the end when my arms would hold him no more and we went back to the steps where I set him down.

It was great.

He loves them so much.

Safe to say that Mr. Alvin has a lot of friends here in the “hood.”

A bit later we got ready and went for our walk and saw our neighbour out watering her flowers, so we stopped.

This time Alvin kind of held a back seat to the visiting …. he patiently stood waiting for us to go.

What a guy.

Well I am running late ….. just a tad.

You see I was having this dream …. it was very odd.

Up at 4:30 with Alvin and then back to the sofa till 5:30 and had to have 15 more …..

I hope that you have an amazing day.

It is always the little things that are the best.

Oh and the “wild” roses that line our walkways by the parks are oh so fragrant.

I wished that I had one of those bushes in my back yard.

Special Hello to: all of our family …..

Always, Carol and Alvin
