2021

Good Morning ALL. How are you today? I/We are doing great. Getting used to the time change and actually getting a bit more sleep than the past few weeks. Happy for that.

Alvin and I enjoyed a wonderful walk yesterday afternoon. All throughout the day we saw many of our friends, neighbours and others out walking with family, with their doggies and some on their own. We all need fresh air, to connect with nature, to have some exercise and to refresh our mind/body/souls. I am so grateful that we are now able to get back to our daily walks. This week is supposed to be quite nice. YAY.

We watched most of the GRAMMYS last night. I noticed that most of the nominees appeared to be young. I won’t even ask the question as I know the answer. Surprisingly, I knew some of the younger artists. I really liked a new group called “BLACK PUMAS” …… they were really good. I would buy their music for sure. Also I really enjoy BILLIE EILISH. Music is always good to listen to and learn about …..

I do not have a lot to say this morning as Mr. Alvin stares at me from the doorway. Likely I should just call it a post and say that I will be back tomorrow. Sometimes the mind is silent. Is that even possible?

Hoping for sunshine today for our walk or at least not rain although moisture would be good to clean the dirt. I also noticed lots of trash laying about which is a reminder for me to go and pick it up.

Wishing you a wonderful Monday.

I can hear some geese honking in the distance. Spring is here!

Living with kindness, respect, compassion and patience.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

What a smoky morning.

Thoughts are with all those affected by the forest/wild fires to the north of us.

I opened the windows when we were first up at 3:30 and was hit with the smoky air.

Opened the door to let Alvin outside and bam – hit once again.

Cannot imagine what it would be like closer to the fires.

We are thinking of the Firefighters and First Responders and volunteers that are up there battling the fires.

One nice thing about having the windows open you can hear the birds chirping or in this case “honking.”

Oh how I love the geese.

Alvin spotted a dog running by with his human just as sun was rising.

Perfect time to be out before the temperature rises.

We have missed two walks but when it is 29 at bedtime what can you do.

We do not need to be walking in the heat nor do we want to be breathing in the smoke.

Edmonton had a poor air quality grade yesterday.

No wonder with the smoke.

Well today is Thursday.

In a few minutes time to head out to work.

Thankfully the house will be cooler today.

Surprisingly enough last night even though the thermostat read “77” when I arrived home … it did not feel that warm.

Dropped by more than 3 degrees this morning in the house so good for Mr. Alvin.

I am reading about Meditation (again).

I have so many great books and I read them over and over gain.

Perfect reminders should one get off the “path” whatever that may be.

It is different for us all as we are all unique beings.

Even twins have their differences.

Breathe and take some time to quieten your mind.

No phone, no television, no distractions.

I have to work on that again.

Make my energy positive once again.

We can easily turn to the “dark side” if we do not practice positive enforcements.

Meditation is good to bring us back, down and centred.

Happy Thursday.

Wishing you a great Thursday.

Remember no distractions.

Quiet time.

Quiet your mind.

Be stronger.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 4th day of April, 2019.

Dark outside as it is only 6:15 a.m.

Alvin is feeling his own self once again.

The household returns gladly to normal.

I enjoyed the day watching over my boy.

We went for a nice walk later in the afternoon.

So nice to no longer be wearing heavy coats, scarves, mitts, hats and boots and for Mr. Alvin, his winter jacket.

I have been noticing more honking by the geese or perhaps it is only more geese.

Back to work today.

Yesterday on one of the daytime shows “Rob Thomas” was the musical guest.

He sang “One Less Day.”

I was taken by the lyrics.

Here are a couple:

I’m not afraid of getting older.

One less day from dying younger.

I pondered those statements, and how true.

We often worry and stress about getting/growing older.

Perhaps we feel that we will lose what we have: health, family and friends.

Perhaps we feel that we will not live to be in our golden years.

There are so many things we think about regarding age.

Maybe, just maybe if we think about it from Rob’s point of view.

One less day from dying younger.

I am not afraid of getting older.

Truly, I have not really thought about it too much.

I have the thought in my head that I am in good health and am going to live to be 100 years old.

I try to live in each moment and not go back or ahead too much.

As we live and breathe – dying is a fact of life.

Not much point wasting precious breaths worrying about something that is inevitable.

So go on live your life.

There is only time ahead of you.

Well almost time to head on downstairs, grab lunch, put on shoes and coat and head out for work.

Catching a ride with my neighbour as my carpool’s son has knee surgery today.

Happy Thursday.

So happy to be alive and to be here.

Have a great great day.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read my blog, thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin
