Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 28th day of August, 2016.

It is overcast for the most part this morning but it is clearing some to the south and I assume to the east as I can see brightness coming from that part of the sky.

Sunshine or not??

Oh yes there is some sunshine as it is shining on one of the houses to south of my window.

YAY ….. sometimes it is the little things that bring such joy.

I really would like the sun to shine.

It seems like we have had many days of clouds and rain.

 

Yesterday was a busy day preparing the house for the tea party today at noon.

So in just a few hours.

Some of the girls that I used to work with at the store are coming for the Steeped Tea party.

It will be so nice to see them.

Last night Alvin and I were invited out for supper.

My friend “J” made this incredible spread ….. way too much yummy food.

We had a great visit, me, “J” and “A” ……

Alvin enjoyed playing with Jasmine’s plush toys.

He only has non-plush ones because given the opportunity he just chews on them until the threads break and the stuffing comes out.

Even the hard core ones that are supposed to be “chew proof” … not so much.

That boy of mine.

So instead he has a ball, his snowball and we play fetch with that……

He has some other toys but not a soft one in the bunch.

Maybe as he gets older he will not attack them so much and I can get him some softer toys.

 

One of the girls is bringing her youngest girl so that will be nice.

Alvin loves children.

Well I supposed I should get this show on the road.

Get spruced up and prepare the table for the tea party.

I am going to make a couple of goodies for the tea party even though my hostess is bringing some baked good.

There will be Steeped Tea’s “Coconut Key Lime Dip Mix” with fresh strawberries AND “GuacamolTEA” with Artisan Roasted Garlic & Black Bean Tortilla chips.

We will have fun and Alvin will enjoy the company.

He loves to be surrounded by women, go figure.

Well he is a guy after all?

Laughing aloud.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 25th day of March, 2016.

A short while ago when I looked out of my bedroom window it looked like we were in a shaken snow globe.

Now it appears to have stopped.

There is a fine sheet of snow covering the ground.

Mother Nature is trying to get that last bit of snow out before spring gets into full swing.

We need the moisture.

 

Well the house is quiet this morning as it was yesterday.

I did not notice it quite as much, as I was busy getting ready to go to work.

Soon my baby boy and my girl will be here.

My daughter is coming for a pancake breakfast and a visit.

Time for Alvin to come home.

I look forward to our visits and treasure them always.

Perhaps Elton will come as well ……

 

I had the most unusual dream last night and actually remember some of it.

There was this young woman not a child had come to see me, suitcase in hand.

She said she was here to stay with me.

Apparently we had made arrangements for her to rent my guest room.

My mind raced as I could not remember this girl or the plan, and I had currently had use of the room.

I can almost see her face.

It was so strange because as quickly as I did not bring her face to mind, I did somehow remember her.

It was very very odd.

We even sat down and had a cup of tea ( always have to be a good hostess ).

I guess this could mean a lot of different things ….

Perhaps something I had mentioned during the day would have spurred this dream ….

Or maybe something that is going to happen …. who knows.

Time will tell.

 

I guess now that I have been all spruced up (showered) and have the laundry collected and have written my blog …. time to get the laundry started and start preparing our breakfast.

We do not have a set set time as I do not wish to rush her ….. lucky thing for pancakes you can keep them warm and toasty in the oven ….. that is why I chose them.

This is a four day weekend for me and I am grateful to have some extra time at home.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 13th day of September, 2015.

It is a great morning here in Edmonton.

The skies were overcast but are now clearing as the morning progresses.

Today is an exciting day for me as this afternoon I will hold my very first tea party as an consultant for Steeped Tea.

My training party was in August and I have my leader, “C” with me so she did all of the work so today it is all me.

I have read over the training information.

I have read all about all the different kinds of teas.

The guest catalogues/order forms and pens are ready to go.

I have placed samples out and some of the other products that we sell.

My tea pots are ready to be used.

The teas have been chosen by the Hostess.

I have placed on the table some tea plates, tea cups and saucers and glasses.

In case you have not guessed I will “host” the party as far as the venue and dishes go and the hostess will bring over a treat for the guests.  Nice and breezy easy for the hostess.

The house is pretty much clean.

Just the last minute sweep/vacuum the floor …. quick dust ….

I am excited and perhaps a little bit nervous.

There is so much information and I just want to do a great job.

Well I am going to enjoy my cup of coffee and get ready.

I am just going to wear a skirt and top so I will be comfortable getting ready now.

The only component I am a bit concerned about is Mr. Alvin ….

He knows a couple of the people so he will definitely be excited.

I did have a chat with him because I know that he will be wanting to visit and see everyone.

Hopefully he will bring it down a notch …. just friendly not FRIENDLY.

Oh, my boy.

Well I had better go.

I have a couple of things to do of course even though there are almost four hours until start time.

Wish me luck.

I know it will be a great tea parTEA.

Thought for the day…..

Welcome to my day off …..  today is Friday, July 20th, 2012

Wow, past the mid point in July already and what a July this has been.

We have had hot, hot temperatures followed by and with a mixture of torrential rains and winds.

The timer just went on the oven.

I made OREO mini cheesecakes for my company that arrives tomorrow.

A couple of girls from work are coming over to meet Alvin, see where I live and have a visit, some food and see our Dear Stella Jewelry.

So should be a great day.

So today I want to finish cleaning the house and do some more food preparation.  We are doing a potluck so it makes it easier for everyone.

I work tonight at Bath & BodyWorks so only have until 4:00 p.m. to be done.

I shall be DONE.

I have three sort of small jobs but have turned into HUGE jobs because I do not know where to start.

The first one is this new fangled bathroom tissue holder of mine came apart …. it can be fixed ….. I am unsure as to how?  But I will figure it out.

The second one is all of the electrical cords hanging down from my wall mounted television.  WHY, OH WHY ….. wished everything was cordless and without batteries.

The third on and one that I can fix ….. is that I had four wall mounted gallery wrapped framed photos on my kitchen wall, and one of the top little ones came loose and fell down.

We had originally put it up with those velcro things…

So not huge things but as the days and weeks have passed by …. just enough to be a PAIN.

Now you know that normally I do not get frazzled or un positive but really ….. what does a girl do?  I wished that Mr. Alvin could help me out.

Somedays being a single woman on her own …. is not “fun” ….

I sometimes wished that I had a handyman around the house.  A girl can dream, right.

Okay enough about my “small things” ….

The sky is slightly overcast and it looks like the sun wants to come out.

Perhaps it was waiting for me to get over myself and get back to reality.

Just do it.

I am a intelligent woman and I can figure things out.

So I shall.

Yes, I shall.

Well better get going and have a cup of coffee and WORK.

Last night:

I did mow my front lawn as well as the neighbours on both sides and my back patch of grass.

Did three loads of laundry and straightened out the laundry room after I had let that damp patch of concrete dry out.

So last night I did quite a bit after work.

I love having company and as you can tell sometimes get a bit over the top ….. worrying about the cleaning and stuff.

Normally my house is pretty clean and always ready to receive company.

But I always strive to be the “best hostess”  ….
