The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL and Welcome to Wednesday, June 22, 2022 the 2nd day of SUMMER. Yesterday was the longest day of the year. Earlier this morning close to 6, the sun was shining brightly and we should have gone for a walk. Now over one hour later the sky is beginning to cloud over. I believe that there is rain in the forecast. Oh well! I needed more sleep what can I say! Yesterday we had a nice little walk at lunch followed by a short one after work. It was cut short as it started to rain. When we were getting ready the sun was shining with rain clouds hovering in the distance and by the time we got to the front door there were large drops of rain coming down. I figured we would go as far as we could. We made it almost to the park and then the rain started (not pouring) and we turned around and headed for home. We came across neighbours heading home with their pup cutting short their walk. My neighbour cut our lawn yesterday and it looks the best it has looked in years. The green appears to be more rich. No watering needed for the plants and lawns with the rain. Which is great.

We are also in the countdown to the garage sale. I hope that we get a lot of people out. Maybe with maps provided by a Real Estate Agent in our area, she is actually “hosting” the event if you will. Yup, a Real Estate Agent not the Community Association. I actually thought it was another Community Association for which we seem to partially belong to. We are on the border. Anyway, all good. I just hope that there are people and they buy stuff. I want to clear things out. Feels so good. I have been selling and giving items away over the different Community boards on social media. So great.

Well here it is getting closer to work time. I have to plug in the coffee. Today was shower day. I have found as I get older and unless I am out working up a “sweat,” I certainly do not need to shower every day. Just dries out your skin and as you age, that is not a good thing. So I feel daisy fresh this morning, lol.

I hope that you have a great Wednesday. Reminder to self to go and pick up a case of Alvin’s wet food today either at lunch or after work. Will depend on the weather. If we can walk, we will walk at noon and I will go after work. I have leftovers for supper so don’t have to worry about cooking from scratch. We can also have a second walk after supper.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and COFFEE. Cannot live my life without coffee.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 8th day of October, 2018.

Well winter has arrived or at least one of the main components of that season.

SNOW.

SNOW.

and MORE SNOW.

The rooftops are covered.

The ground is covered.

 

My snapdragons are covered. (Perhaps it is time to remove the seeds and pull the plants).

They have been blooming for a long time now and were so pretty.

Yellows, corals, pinks and white.

The last memories of summer ……

The temperatures are to warm up again.

This will give everyone a chance to do that last minute “fall/winter prep.”

 

We, me and Mr. Alvin had a grand time with our family.

Last night before supper we walked to a nearby park and took some photos.

Unfortunately the wind got up and there were several drops of rain.

But we managed to get some good photos.

We ate, relaxed, visited and played the board game “Sequence.”

A good time was had by all.

Another Thanksgiving on the books.

All done and thank you to my kids for hosting.

It was wonderful.

 

Last day before heading back to work.

Time to get some final loads of laundry done, perhaps some shovelling, get ready for tomorrow and leftovers for supper.

I made a big dinner on Saturday which was Quinoa, chicken, peas, mushrooms and pesto.

So delicious.

I have enough for a couple more meals.

 

Well time to get some work done.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 9th day of January, 2017.

Almost typed/keyed 2016.

Another cold morning and it has been snowing overnight.

My neighbour shovelled last night.

My turn tonight.

Had to shovel a bit of a path for Mr. Alvin this morning.

I wished that he had indoor plumbing or could somehow use it.

Another weekend over and another week just beginning.

Wonder what is in store this week?

Only good things.

Only kindness.

Only laughter.

Sounds like a good week ahead.

I watched the Golden Globes last night with Jimmy Fallon hosting.

He does a good job.

Such a talented guy.

Meryl Streep got the Lifetime Award which was well-deserved.

I loved the tribute to Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

But wondered why there was no tribute to others.

I know they do it at the Oscars and perhaps that is why.

So many tremendously talented people passed in 2016.

So many loved ones passed in 2016.

Well here we go for another work week.

Should be fun.

Wishing you all a great week.

Make sure that you pay it all forward.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 3rd day of November, 2016.

Lovely morning.

Only a light frost more of a mist on the cars which is a great sign.

Yesterday was beautiful and today the forecast is for +15 celsius – amazing for this time of year.

These extra blessed summer/early fall type days are so appreciated as they just make our winter shorter.

YAY, us.

Last night on our way to the park we waved to our friends and ended up visiting.

One dinner party for Christmas invitation done – check.

Later I called one of my other friends and invited her.

There are three of us that take turns hosting dinner.

Now to plan the menu.

I love the planning.

My turn and I thought we should do it for Christmas.

Appears that November and December will be busy and that is good.

Enjoying good company is never a bad thing.

Tonight after our walk while supper is cooking the Halloween decorations will all come down.

I started but they all get put away tonight as da-da-da tomorrow night the ChRiStmAs TrEE goes up.

My friend “G” is going to help me assemble the tree as my daughter is otherwise engaged for the next while.

She is such a busy girl and although it was a little thing we had been doing together since I moved to Edmonton – sometimes

things do not always go according to plan and you know what – I have learned not to fret and am now okay with things changing.

Now I would not say that I love a mad amount of change(s) but some is okay.

At the office there is always change and I guess that has helped me get over my fears.

Perhaps not so much fear but losing control.

Anyway.

So excited to get that tree out of the boxes and decorated.

So happy ….

Move things around …. decorate the front of the house while the weather is nice.

Decorate the inside of the house.

These always take a few days to complete but the main focus is the TrEE …… cannot have Christmas without the tree.

Started putting together ideas for Christmas gifts.

Thinking about baking.

Well almost time to hit the road for work.

Thank goodness Alvin slept until almost 4:30 this morning ….. YAY.

I am not sure how many 3:00 a.m. mornings I could handle.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 2nd day of March, 2016.

WOW, we are now in March.

How exciting!

Spring is just around the corner and then summer.

We had such a beautiful winter for this part of the world.

Now we just had a dump of snow and it has almost all melted.

But March is one of those months that are tricky.

You just never know …..

But it will be short lived and whatever comes – comes.

 

Last night the doorbell rang and there stood the birthday girl.

My friend who celebrated her birthday last week and for whom we had the party on Saturday.

She was returning the plate that I had sent home on Saturday with some cake and a CARD.

A card for me ….

So sweet she gave me and Alvin a “thank you card.”

You certainly do not see that much anymore.

So sweet …. the girls gave me flowers for hosting and then a card.

WOW.

Feeling pretty great right now.

I must download the photos that I snapped of the flowers.

They are so pretty. ….. will try and do that tonight ….

 

Well here we go again almost time to leave for the bus.

One more sleep until I meet my friends from Saskatoon.

They should be in Edmonton now.

But I am meeting them at West Edmonton Mall tomorrow night after work for supper and a visit.

I am so excited.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 3rd day of January, 2016.

WOW, the ten days off from work are almost at the end as tomorrow it is back to work.

I did accomplish one thing and that is to relax ….. I did not really do much during these days.

There were only a couple of things on the “LIST” and I actually only did one of them.

But that is okay.

It was nice to kick back and just do almost nothing.

I did keep the house clean, do some visiting, gave Alvin a bath, got groceries twice, had walks with Alvin, took down all of the Christmas decorations, changed about some of my kitchen cupboards and continue to look after my friend’s fish and frog.  I guess I made meals as well.

But all said ….. it was so nice.

I would love to be RETIRED and make my days my own.

Someday …..

In a couple of hours I am hosting coffee with one of my girl friends.

The rest of the day will be making sure that I am ready for work, looking after the fish and will SKYPE with my sister.

Bed needs to be early as tomorrow will be up at 5:00 a.m. no more of this up at 8:00 business.

I will say that we were up at bit earlier as Alvin eats early but then back to bed.

So far this year has been great for me and I hope it will continue.

 

I want to put my arms around my friend “S” who has some health issues.

Hoping that they will perform surgery sooner rather than later.

She has been in agony for several months, and I feel helpless because there is nothing that I can do.

Also this friend is dealing with the loss of her best friend’s four-legged friend “KOA” ….. I think that they have had enough …. time for good things to happen ……

Let us shower the girls with good positive light and energy …..

to better days ahead for them ……

 

Well I guess it is time to hop into the shower ….. have breakfast ….. prepare for company.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 2nd day of January, 2016.

I almost typed 2015 instead of 2016.

It will take a couple of weeks to do the year without thinking.

I am excited to think that in less than four years it will be 2020.

That will be so cool.

 

This morning the sky has a pale orange / white hue …. so very pretty.

It has been wonderful the past couple of mornings to see the sunshine.

We have been getting up to stay up later but with only one morning left before going back to work …… we had better get up earlier tomorrow.

I always like to have a practice run if you will …… just so it will not be such a shock to the system.

 

Well yesterday Mr. Alvin had his bath and he looks so handsome ….

I think he feels better.

 

Last night I went to my friend’s house for supper and a visit ….. there were three of us friends and neighbours.

After supper I ended up going and getting Alvin ( just felt badly that he was home alone ).

Alvin spent the first I would say half an four sniffing about the whole main floor …. every corner …. every inch.

My friend “A” has a cat named Cricket and they get along pretty good.

There were a couple of times that she was a bit miffed with him as he went into the bathroom where her litter was ….. she went in …..

Alvin raised his paw and backed away.

We went in and brought him out …..

But it was okay ….. proud of the boy.

He did not chase her and she did not chase him.

They kind of respected each others space.

 

Had an awesome evening …… home kind of late …… but that is okay.

Not something that I do very often if ever but something I need to do more.

We are going to take turns hosting supper and evening.

All three of us are single ….

We each have a four-legged friend …. two dogs and one cat.

I look forward to that …. my turn is next.

Am thinking of Italian ….. pasta and stuff.

 

Well time to get dressed and get this day started ….. we need bananas and I need a bus pass for work.

So will have to make a trip to the grocery store and the drugstore.

Only a six minute walk …… should go this morning.

Supposed to be another mild day so will go for a nice long walk with Alvin this afternoon.

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 26th day of September, 2015.

Well it started out being overcast and now at this point it is bright and sunny.

There are still a few clouds but it is sunny ….. doing the happy dance.

I am excited as today is my third Steeped Tea Party, second one on my own.

My friend “D” is hosting and it is going to be fun.

We are doing LATTES.

Only my second time making them so should be interesting and FUN.

My neighbour “S” just popped by and had a cup of coffee with me.

We had a nice visit discussing several topics.

Lots going on in our world as of late.

Alvin was so happy to see her.

Today is my son-in-law’s birthday, Happy Birthday “S” ….. me and Alvin wish you a great day and look forward to seeing you tomorrow for supper and cake.  Alvin has a present for you.

Today is also another birthday ….. another friend’s Mom has a birthday today …. she will be at the Tea parTEA.

So almost time to go and have a shower and get ready for the parTEA.

Make sure that I have everything ready to go.
